O'hana? Really? Really?! SERIOUSLY?!!!

Myself and my family ate at O'hanas last year and it was really good. :confused3

"O'hana"? Isn't it more respectful to say "Mr President"?:confused3

it's 'Ohana.)

'Ohana.

Walla! I spelled 'Ohana it correctly. :yay:

Except the other word really is: Voilà.

Not Walla or Wallah.

According to the urbandictionary.com, their definition of people who use Walla is:

"Walla is a word used by ******** Americans who don't know any foreign languages and barely know their own. The correct word they are looking for is [the French word,] "Voilà", which loosely translates [in French] as "here it is", "there you go", or similar meanings.

Of course, the word Voilà. properly pronounced in French sounds a bit like "vwalla", but with the "v" in front pronounced softly, almost like an "f". Being stupid Americans though, they can't pronounce anything which doesn't sound 100% English (not that they can pronounce English either) so in their incredibly lazy way, they don't even try to pronounce it correctly. "

And if one thinks the spelling is Wallah:

An Arabic word that means "I swear to God." or I swear to Allah. "Wallah, I'm telling the truth."

Yes, major peeve of mine.

Okay, got that out of my system. . . until the next time I see "Walla!" :badpc: ;)

How about viola? I've seen that several times.
My pet peeve is the misuse of then and than. Makes me cringe when I see, for example:

We like GF more then CR.
Should we go to rope drop and than go to breakfast?

This whole thread is rediculous. :scratchin Now I need to book an appointment for my granddaughter at the Bippity Boppity Boutique.

I'd still prefer Viola :charac2: to Walla. At least they are in the right neighborhood spelling-wise.

As for then & than, sometimes it's a typo. I compare things so much on the DIS to illustrate my point, sometimes I later find out that I've written than instead of then when I really mean then. :headache:

:mic:
Here's mine - adding an "s" to the end of every store name. JCPenney somehow becomes JCPenneys.

It isn't just customers. I was leaving Meijer this evening and the greeter said, "Thank-you for shopping at Meijers." I shopped at exactly one Meijer this evening.

I wouldn't complain about the bad spellers, per say. Maybe their using voice recognition softwear. Your welcome to read any of my posts cents I was a grammer major in collage.

Oh, I saw "wa la" on here last week. It was all I could do not to say something.

Just yesterday I saw a few butcherings: celiac's in place of Celiac Disease (there's no possessive there but people do it all the time). Same thread: digestive track--it's "tract."

OMG - this thread has all of my pet peeves in one place! :rotfl:

I also cringe when I see things like:

He gave fastpasses to my son and I.

I know O'hanna's is on the dinning plan, but I just seen my neighbor's cousin an she said that it took there family to long to get sat when they was their.

She thought she was gonna loose her mind an she prolly should of complained.

I defiantly felt real badly for her and told her, "You're trip could of been alot better if you went to that other place with all the characters."

She said the salid was good. An so was the steak's and the potsticker's.

But was it convient too get too?
