Do you think it's necessary to have your officiant at your rehearsal? It's an extra $100 for him to come. Did anyone not have their officiant there? Did your ceremony still run smoothly? Did you wish you had him/her there?

That seems odd..cant believe he's charging extra for the rehearsal..how much is his fee?...we booked dr. Rabbi Richard cowin and his was 600 and includes the ceremony, rehearsal, delivering marriage liscence, and looking over the ketubah(Hebrew marriage contract)

i guess it depends... since we did evrything by distance and had not met rev. miller before, i was glad to have him at the rehearsal. it was pretty brief(ish), but helpful. it wasn't $100 extra though... maybe $50? his whole fee i can't recall at this moment, but not $600 or anything...

if it were an "at home" wedding and/or we somehow knew the officiant otherwise, maybe we wouldn't, but for us it was good. rev. miller also gave my then step-son to be and BM of the wedding some "secret" instructions for the ceremony which was really nice and he really took to heart.

for $10, i think this is worth it and something i would make room for in the budget, for me i mean.
:thumbsup2

We are going to be using Rev. Kevin Knox for our ceremony. We have decided to pay the extra $ to have him come to the rehearsal (can't remember exactly how much extra, but definitely not $100). After having our planning session over the phone, I realized how happy I was to have him come to the rehearsal. There is a lot to go over, and I will feel more comfortable with a "trial run." :goodvibes

We had Rev. Jack Day, and since we were an Escape wedding we didn't have a rehearsal at all. We chatted on the phone for a while, and I figured he's the pro, he knows what he's doing! Everything went off without a hitch, right down to him pushing us down the aisle at the end when we weren't sure what to do (resulting in a spectacular picture of us heading down the aisle roaring).

I think if we had overly customized out ceremony I probably would have wanted him there for a rehearsal. So there's that to consider.

We had Rev Day and I think we paid $100 for him to come to the rehearsal and I am so glad he did. He walked us through everything and I felt completely comfortable with everything the next day!

If we have a rehearsal (leaning towards it since we have kids participating), our officiant will be there. Granted, she is a friend of ours, so she will be there the night before anyway. ;)

At our wedding, our officiant (not our friend that time) did the rehearsal for us. We figured since he is running the show, then he should tell us how it goes.

We had Rev. Jack Day and he came to our rehearsal. It was't $100, maybe $50 and I just considered it to be part of the whole fee. I am really glad he was there, he went through each part of the ceremony and what to expect. He gave us instructions on where to stand, how to do the unity candle, and things like that which made the whole ceremony run smoothly. I also thought, since it was a destination wedding, it was nice to meet him in person before the wedding and it definitely helped us feel more at ease about everything.

The quote i got from Rev. kevin said it would be $100 extra to attend rehersal. :headache: grrr. I haven't booked him yet though.

Sorry to hijack, but for those of you that had Rev. Jack Day, does he take cash only or does he accept personal checks on the day of rehearsal/wedding day?
