Just an fyi.... I saw a used PS2 system at GameStop for $25. Can't beat that price!
My ds (who's life goal is to own every game system) has purchased several systems used and they all still work great.
We went with the Wii GH versus the PS2 GH because the PS2 isn't wireless while the Wii version just slips the wiimote into the back. We found our Wii GH at GameStop at the mall about 10 days before Christmas so I think you have plenty of time to get one by spring.
We had extended Christmas here - my family (over 18 people) on Christmas day, then dh's out of state family (over 30 people) for 3 days after Christmas. The Wii got a LOT of play time. Everyone kept playing GH or bowling with Dodgeball from the Playground game being the most popular game. We had to turn the system off Saturday night for an hour because things were starting to go haywire and I was afraid it was overheating.
Because of all the family here, dd and ds haven't really had a chance to play Super Mario Galaxy, Star Wars Complete Saga or Mario/Sonic Olympics. Based on the reviews, I think I would have told them to not open Olympics, so we could exchange it, but I was too late. Let's hope they figure it out!
