Hi everyone

I have made our ADRs still want to try and make some changes - hoping to swap Crystal Palace for Le Cellier and change the Rainforest cafe at AK to downtown at a later time. But, this is what we have at the mo, if any of you experts can see flaws please let me know!!

9th - 6pm Marrakesh

10th - 9.45 Rainforest Cafe at AK
4.40 Sci Fi Dine in

11th - 4.45 Crystal Palace followed by MNSSHP

12th - 5.15 Rainforest Cafe at AK

13th - 4.45 Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic package

I really think we could have done with a few more days at the park - 5 nights doesn't seem nearly long enough to see it all.

I am jealous of your DH's retirement! My DH and I are young still (32 and 33) and I am the worker bee of the family. I have more years of work left to go than I care to count. :headache:

Our summer plans are of the simple hang at home and relax variety. We have a bunch of family coming to see us for the 4th of July, but no other special plans otherwise. Saving all our money and energy for our October trip!

I think I might be tempted to swap places with you , DH(59) and I(58) were just yesterday sitting laughing about how it use to be work that interupted or lives and now it is coordinating next months Dr's appointments since he has to go for another one to the optmologist for a fitting for the intra ocular lens before he can schedule the actual surgery. He has an appointment with his primary Dr as do I plus I have one with my Nephrologist and we both have to get blood tests.

Enjoy the next 20 years it will fly by believe me.

I think I would try to get an ADR at Tuskers for breakfast instead of Rainforest Cafe since you plan on having dinner there later in the week. Other than that I think everything looks great :thumbsup2

Now that there are 4 parks 5 days at the parks is hardly enough but then one can never see or do everything on any given trip a good reason to go back again and again :rotfl:

I just re-did our park schedule and ended up eliminating AK as it is our least favorite park to give us more time for the F&W festival this trip. I almost wished we had not bought our plane tickets so I could add another day but way to much to change flights so we are stuck with 6 nights

It is a bit different, I hear ya about the adjusting :rotfl:

My schedule is so thrown off now, I'm really having trouble with this aspect. I shouldn't complain (but I will anyway ), but I'm so used to doing things by myself. When I go grocery shopping DH asks if I want him to come with me...NO! We've changed our meal times, having a late lunch now instead of supper. At least he's occupying himself out in the garage restoring a 1949 Ford pick up truck (he restored a '29 Model A pick up a few years back), but then he's back in asking what's for lunch. ARGH! So I just gave up and started replacing supper with lunch. I'll get used to it. I hope.

Like Shela said, time really goes so quickly. DH is 63 and I'm 61 and it feels like only a few years ago that our daughters were little girls. I had been trying to get him to retire for the past 3 years but he just wasn't ready yet....and then all of a sudden, he was. And here we are. The nice part is that we can just take off whenever we feel like it and we both want to travel, esp. to WDW, so now we can.

Oh I can so relate to my routine being upset. I enjoy getting up having my coffee while I get on the computer and my beloved DIS as I listen to the news and the today show in the background.
DH never was interested in computers but I finally did get him to purchase one for himself a couple of months before he retired, so that does take up some of his time except he is always telling me to go look at this or that, I have found out our taste in utube varies greatly what he thinks is funny to watch I find a waste of time :rotfl:

Every day DH will say what do you want to do today, want to go anyplace etc etc and he does shop with me now he use to sit in the car if he went along :rotfl:

I find myself constantly say "make sure you check the expiration date" as he is picking up items in the grocery store :lmao:

I have been suggesting he get into gardening he wants to start walking at the mall only thing wrong with that is the mall does not open to 10 so that means we will most likely have breakfast "out" first or lunch "out" later which will defeat the whole idea of walking daily.

Ok I am done venting................. for today at least.

Oh one more thing I am still the one that gets up to take the dog out at the crack of dawn and the one to take her out for her last trip at night :headache:

I remember talking to you on the "November" thread last year about our DH and retirement. Mine finally decided to go end of 2010, his last day was actually 12/30. I probally prodded mine for 2 years. I am greatfull he did when he did he missed many of the snowstorms last winter, and with the cost of gas and his commute eveyday I hate to even think of what we would be shelling out for that

Thanks I will look into Tuskers.

I don't think we have enough time either - especially as we have the water park option and was hoping to fit them in somewhere and also the downtown disney area. Our flights are set in concrete now but ... we do have 5 nights after this at Universal where we were going to do the 2 parks there, Seaworld and some shopping before we go home. I'm considering dropping a night or 2 off that or leaving as is and coming back for a day if we need to.

Great excuse though to plan a return trip - I'm sure we will!

Looks like we migt have the same MNSSHP date too - we are going Tuesday 11th. We will be the ones with the bewildered look and funny accents looking completely lost. My son is so looking forward to his first chance to trick or treat. Not sure what I am going to do about a costume for him yet - hoping to get a chance to shop for one in New Orleans or failing that I assume we can buy something at the parks the day before.

We will be going as Phineas and Ferb Candace Isabella and Stacy.

I'll have to post a picture of me sometime maybe we will see each other

Oh we do try to enjoy every minute of it! There are just some weeks where the 8-5 grind feels like it will never end!

Hi all! :) It seems like there are 2 "official" Oct threads. Figured I'd pop over here too.

DH and I are taking our 4 kids for the first time. :wizard: We're seasoned DLR vets, and DH & I just went by ourselves to WDW in March for our anniversary. We're so looking forward to taking the kids and showing them WDW. This will be a total surprise trip. We'll probably not even tell them until we wake them up to head to the airport. :cool1: We're staying at AsMu Family Suites and will be there Oct 11-18. When we went in March, we had a deluxe villa at SSR. Hope we're not going to be really disappointed in AsMu. But we figure the kids are young and won't care at all about how "deluxe" the resort is or isn't. :goodvibes

I *think* I finalized my ADRs. We're trying for all new ones, with the exception of 'Ohana because that was DH's favorite from our trip.

Oct 11
7pm arrival, probably AsMu food court

Oct 12- MK
8:10a Crystal Palace
5:05p 'Ohana

Oct 13- EP
12:45 Le Cellier
Dinner @ Lotus Cafe?

Oct 14- AK/EP
8:30a RFC (oop)
Lunch Flame Tree
6:45p San Angel Inn

Oct 15- DHS/DTD
12:05p Mama Melrose
Leave after lunch, swimming @ the resort
7:30 T-Rex (oop)

Oct 16- MK/EP
Cinnamon rolls @ MS Bakery
Lunch@ Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills
6:30p Garden Grill

Oct 17- AK?? or DTD???/MK
8:30a Kona Cafe (not sure about this.. might do the 18th, might cancel altogether, depending on CS credits left since this is oop)
Lunch at CHH or WPE
6:55p 1900 Park Fare

Oct 18- ???
Not making any plans here. We leave at 5pm that day, so we'd need to be to AsMu around 2 for DME. So we'll try to use up our CS at whichever park we want to hit one more time that day. :confused3

If anyone is looking for an ADR for Oct 16 for a party of 6 for 'Ohana, I have a 5:05p ressie to cancel. I'll hang onto it a while for now until I find someone on Dis who'd like it. Message me if you'd like to coordinate. AFAIK, there are no available ADRs for 'Ohana that day (at least not for a party of 6 ;))

Please add us to the list. Our dates are Sept.29-Oct6 at the CBR. Yep, we booked free dining. I think we are going to go to MNSSHP on Sun. Oct. 2nd. Last time we did MNSSHP my boys were Phineas and Ferb (my oldest is a red head.) I was Candace and the Hubs was Dr. Doofensmirtz. I don't know what we will be this year. Maybe pirates.

Hi there, just joining this thread from the "other" Oct thread! DH and I will be in the world on Oct 26th and Oct 30th with a 3 night Dream cruise inbetween. We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek (that is if our resale purchase goes through in time). On the 26th we will be at Epcot partaking in our first F&W and on the 30th we will be attending MNSSHP!! So excited, this is our first trip without kids since 1998!! Well overdue I think!!

Hi everyone. Haven't had time to post in awhile so I just caught up with everyone's summer plans. We won't be going on vacation this summer, but my brother in law is getting married in July so we'll have that to look forward to.

I haven't had time to look at or change any of our booked plans, work has been so busy lately and last night on my way home I found out that I will probably have to put my cat down. He's 15 years old, and I got him when I moved away from NY to Boston where I had no family and knew no one. He became my home. I am so sad. My husband and I talked about it a lot last night, and while we only got the news last night, I really want to be able to stay at the vets with him as long as I need to, so I do not want to do it during the week, when my phone will be going off with people from work trying to reach me and I'll be distracted. And, we don't think it's fair to make him suffer another week. So, it looks like we have to do it today. Our daughter is going to be devastated as well. I think my husband will have his hands full these next couple of days.

Thanks for letting me ramble.

I am so very sorry to read about your cat, it is so hard to lose a good friend and part of the family
