OFFICIAL - NON SPOILER Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Premieres 2/20/11

I like Kent and Vyxsin. I didn't see their original season. Judging on what I have seen so far this race, they are very patient with each other. This is not a characteristic that I see in all teams. I find myself rooting for them over the other teams, especially since it is obvious that the other competetors dislike them.

I really liked Kynt and Vyxsin on their original season - they were fun, although they did occasionally lose patience with each other.

I was thrilled when I met them at Disneyland a few years back. (It was on Bats Day, not too long after their season aired). They were so incredibly nice and friendly and excited to meet a fan. :thumbsup2 So I'll be rooting for them, for sure.

I also like the cowboys - I like their style, lack of arguing, etc.

I was glad to see the cheerleaders go - didn't like them first time around either. I'd be fine to see Ron/Christina go next.

I like that they are making the detours/roadblocks a lot harder this season. That's the way it should be since all of these teams pretty much know what to expect.

No doubt! And dangerous too. How many times did someone fall off those step ladders?? Its surprising someone didn't really get hurt.

I'm glad the eliminated team are finally gone. They are just so negative. No wonder they have taxi problems. They draw that negative energy to themselves with their bad attitude.

The previews for next week look interesting. I wish they would stop doing food challenges though. I don't enjoy watching someone stuff themselves so full or eat something so foul it makes them vomit. Survivor hasn't done those types of challenges for a while, I wish AR would stop them too.

I think they make the taxi drivers feel uncomfortably, I would, they're so mean all the time, and bossy, im glad it was them and no other team, they didn't have to turn the GT, they were way behind them, the pink team had a reason and they girls were right there.

I dislike the eating/drinking challenges, remember last season with the tattoo team also in Asia eating seafood? It was nasty, poor Luke.

I don't like Jame and Cara, either, but I think they proved that DID have to u-turn the Globetrotters. The GT caught up and passed them even after the U-turn, they would have done so even more easily without it. It didn't work out for them, but it could have.

I could have written this. Didn't see them the first time, either. They are so nice, especially Kent. Vyxsin gets flustered, but Kent just stays so calm. He seems like such a nice guy.

Can someone recap what the U-turn challenges were?
My dd called and I totally missed them.

For the dinosaur challenge? The cowboy made a statement, how he kept going back to the diagram picture to make sure he was doing it correctly. He said he was the only one running back and forth. That would of been me. I probablyl would of dragged the piece along. I'm surprised Justin had such a hard time getting the dinosaur together. I have to give Marge credit, she really booked with the challenge, plus she mentioned a grandson Bryce. I think Marge wants us to see the softer side of her, I'm actually liking her a bit better this season.

My kids were screaming "Hurry Up!" to the Globetrotters last night. I didn't want to see them go even though I think it was smart to U-turn them.

Our family really enjoys the Globetrotters and the tall one looks so funny in every outfit they have to wear:happytv:

The cowboys kicked butt, I agree, you have to look at the darn thing, I would had done that too.

Why do you think some teams declined to use the u-turn? (Margie and Luke, and then the cowboys?) They said something like they knew they were in the lead, so is it that they didn't actually "need" it? Maybe they didn't want to alienate another team? What do you guys think?

I like Kent & Vyxsin too, but I don't see where the other teams dislike them. I think they were disappointed that they showed up at the train station when they hoped K&V were done. The other teams also sniffed out the penalty and were a bit disgruntled when they were lied to about it (and will be even more disgruntled when they find out about the "car breakdown" lie ). I don't blame K&V for either lie. They didn't want to be seen as idiots or directionally challenged and there was no reason for the other teams to know about the penalty.

I thought FOR SURE that Margie was going to use the U-Turn on the Cowboys.

I don't really care for Margie and Luke but they went up a notch for not U-turning anyone. Now if they were a little farther back in the pack, I would have thought them a little dense for not U-turning someone.

Kynt played it smart this time U-turning the redheads. They didn't seem to hold it against them either.

I don't see anything wrong with the Goths not telling everyone about their penalty. That is just playing the game. But I can see where someone might not like being lied to. All they had to do was withhold information. I did it all the time when I was a teenager. ;)

There are many teams I don't want to see win but I truly dislike Margie and Luke.

The first challenge was where they had to watch a little play/presentation with 14 people in different costumes. They had to then put 14 little replica dolls in the same order as the presentation.

The second challenge was to haul 3 very heavy boxes of solar tubes up the stairs to the top of a building and the install the tubes into a solar water heating system.

Well, if the lie was "game play" that's one thing. This was just "We don't want to look like the dummies we are" kind of thing. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Me too! It was based on "the need to know" , if you need to know, I would tell you, if not, my lips were sealed. :rotfl2:

Joining in on this thread a little late, hope that's okay.

I don't have a problem with the Goths lying about the penalty. It was good game play. They are all trying to win a million dollars and every last one of them would have done the same, whether they want to admit to it or not ;)

I agree. I also think if the other teams knew that Kynt/Vyxsin had a 30 minute penalty coming, somebody would have u-turned them.

Am I the only one who thinks that until Jamie and Cara went back and did their 2nd challenge, they shouldn't have been allowed to U-turn anybody.

They got U-Turned before they reached the mat. Once they reached the mat, their U-turn should have been in play and they shouldn't have been allowed to U-turn anybody at that time. I wouldn't haved care if it was a matter of seconds, minutes, or hours that Kent and Vyxsin beat them to the mat, Jamie and Cara got to the mat after they had been U-turned.

I am sooo ready for Ron and Christina to go home!!!!!

That was the "our car broke down" lie, not the penalty lie. ;)

I have no problem with either lie. "our car broke down" is akin to "I ran into traffic", when you really left the house late. People say stuff like that all the time so they don't look stupid or lazy.

The penalty lie, part of the game. They thought people would u-turn them if they knew of the penalty, so they didn't want to tell. No different than not telling another team you got on an earlier flight, which happens all the time.

I really don't get the perception on the u-turning if they knew of the penalty, though. If I knew a team had a penalty coming, that's a team I probably wouldn't u-turn, because I'd know I already have an advantage over them. I'd always u-turn a strong team.

Yes! I said this to DH too about them uturning someone.

But I did find it extremely funny that Kynt and Vyxsin uturned the blondes right in front of them. :lmao: I think that was Kynt's idea. Very smart. I was also surprised that all they got was a 30 minute penalty.
