Wasn't missing the flight enough of a penalty? I could see them getting penalized if they caught an earlier flight, but a later one?

They said a number of times it was a required flight. To me that means they should receive a penalty.

Even when they showed the planes in the air, the captions read "required flight" instead of "first flight". I'd bet there is some penalty for missing that plane.

I think so too, because when they arrived they didn't take the train like the other teams, they took another flight I believed therefore they caught up with the other teams.

I think the other teams all took the train because it was quicker than waiting for a flight - trains were leaving that night, flights not until the morning.

I think The Goths caught up because everyone had to wait in Lijiang for the buses to leave in the morning. They were able to make it to Kunming in time for one of the morning flights (right? IIRC they didn't take the train.) which probably got into Lijiang after 8:00 am when the buses left but in less than the 5 hours they were behind on their flight out of Narita.

The eating that the teams do is (usually) edited out. I actually enjoyed this side of Ron last night because (in the first cut), he explained that it was food just like when he was growing up. I would think having the opportunity to eat his comfort food-and taking the time to do so- was the reason that it was shown. And, don't forget, they knew that they were almost 2 hours ahead of the pack. Why not have a meal? Ron and Christina reminded me of the father/daugher who did the beer challenge in season 6-Gus and Hera.

Well yea the first meal when he went to get the "pot stickers or dumplings" I thought that was fine, they had a comfy lead and had to wait anyway for the buses. But then Ron was basically eating non-stop throughout the rest of the leg (his mind was almost certainly on food) and they didn't win the leg, they only got 4th. So he needs to get his head squared on straight.

I'm not really like when there not a eliimantion at the end of the show. That means coming up there will be a double elimantion

I don't recall a dbl elimination ever on AR. Each season, they have several "non-elimination" legs. I like the double legs. This is a 2nd chance for all teams so the producers should "up" the anti a bit.

Oh yes, I forgot that the other teams arrived at night and the pinks arrived during the day, so I guess we will see what phil has to say

Phil talked about New Zealand when they had their Earth Quake. The AR wasn't in New Zealand, just in Austrailia right?

Makes me afraid for the next country the AR flies to.
