OFFICIAL - NON SPOILER Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Premieres 2/20/11

Quick question......

Has Ron EVER said anything nice about anyone? I think I have heard a couple of comments about his daughter that he probably meant to be nice, but really weren't. Seriously, the man is so critical of everyone.

Still love the Cowboys, but they don't seem to have it together this season as much as last time. However, they are just so strong and work so well together. I mean they were bringing those boxes up those stairs like they weighed next to nothing. They weren't even winded.

Loved the basketball scene last night. What a thrill it would be to play basketball with members of the Harlem Globetrotters. WOW!! I loved that the cowboys were wearing GT jerseys and someone else was wearing the cowboys' hats. It just looked like a good time.

I disagree and so do a few others on this thread. You need to think about how events affect outcomes and missing a flight gave K&V no advantage..

AND a few agree with him...... actually it did affect the outcome - with the penalty they checked in 30 minutes later so they will depart 30 minutes later after other teams.

The rules are not applied based on the outcome - they are applied on whether or not they met the requirements - they did not so they received a penalty.

The penalty affected the outcome but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm saying that them missing the flight did not give them an advantage over other times, obviously. In fact it hurt them and put them way behind.. adding a 30 minute penalty ON TOP of that is idiotic, moronic, and stupid.

The people who run the show never look at how the events affect the outcomes when giving penalties; they look for violations such as missing a required flight.

The people who run the show are absurd with this rule.. penalizing a team in addition to them missing a flight and being way behind the other teams. One of those instances that makes me think there is little intelligence left amongst network executives.

Really not following your logic, the team didn't follow the instructions and received a penalty, just as any other team would. If it bothers you so much, why do you bother watching?

I don't really think you're paying attention to what I'm typing here so I'm just going to end this here. It's apparent that I'm wasting my time.

Sorry you don't understand the rules of the game. Enjoy the rest of the episodes.

I am not angry about the penalty, I just think it's a little weird.

Like, how many teams get lost on the way to a clue and end up at the wrong place? They don't get penalties.

I just think it's weird they got penalized for getting lost. Not a big deal, just a strange rule.

But it's the rule and you have to follow the rules no matter how idiotic.. :rotfl2:

They didn't get penalized for getting lost, that is the stupid part. They got penalized for not taking a required flight; one that they were told to take.

It's pretty simple.

Agree. If they started making exceptions to the rules then people would start taking advantage of them. I think that penalizing the GT for mistakingly taking Ron and his daughter's bag and not taking it back to them more lame than the penalty for missing the required flight. But a rule is a rule and to play the game they need to follow them.

Yep, it's pretty simple.

Maybe it was a required flight for reasons unknown to us. :confused3 Perhaps it was a legality to get the show into the receiving airport, or it was a financial thing....the other flights only had first class. We don't know the why, we only know that it was a required flight, hence the penalty.

When you produce your own version of AR, you can change the rules according to your view of how things should play out. Meanwhile, rules are rules. They don't say that you must take this flight unless your car breaks down and misses it. The rules state that you must take this flight with no conditions. Whether or not you think the penalty is just or unjust is immaterial.

This has to be one of the best non-race segments that they have ever shown. As a group - minus the 2 teams not there at the start - were so relaxed and just enjoying the company of each other.

Your completly correct. They did not follow their directions - taking a certian flight. Getting lost on their way from point A to point B, is part of the game. Finding your way around in a foreign coutry, is part of the game. Getting a taxi driver to get you to where you need to go - without them really understanding you or getting lost themselves - is a part of the game.

Not following directions - take the subway, taxi or walk when a specific mode of transportation is stated - is against the rules. Weither it actually helps or hinders you, it is not following the directions.

Once the teams were in China, they were free to get to the destination city by whatever means they could - train or plane - were the two best options. Either way was fine by the directions.

I am sure getting to flim in China requires a lot more legalize actions for CBS than we will ever know. I am sure there are lots of red tape issue for all the countries, but China just seems to scream that they would be more demanding of behind the scene rules that need to be adheared to.

I don't know if any Amazing Race fans watch the new show called Harry's Law.

Well the episode that aired the other night had Kynt in it--He was one of the people dancing in the club! I got all excited and rewound it to show DH and he couldn't have cared less.

But if you want to check it out it's about 20 or so minutes in--There was no sign of Vyxsin.

Missing the flight did put them a little behind the 8 ball but they gathered themselves, put together a plan, and nailed it. So I don't see the need to bring them down for that.

No they didn't the only reason they weren't eliminated is not only was there a non-elimination leg it was followed by a requirement to take a train that would obviously put all the teams in one group!!

I dislike when they do this in general, when there is 1 flight, 1 train, etc that put all the teams together. Messing up as bad as those two did should have made them lose the race.

I was waiting for teams to have to take the whole dinosaur apart. I have no idea why more teams weren't checking more often... didn't any of them every do the little normal ones of those? I did as a kid and after my second or third one even at 5 I knew that if I messed up early on that I would have to do the entire thing over.

anyone else thinking that the lack of Elimination Station this season may mean a game twist involving the eliminated teams? Perhaps they are not all going to some prearranged location this time? :confused3 I do so miss it though.

There are some other good videos on the CBS site though. Phil's diaries are interesting and show some behind the scenes footage of the pit stops, detours and other goings ons.

hmm, that'd be interesting. Like Hell's Kitchen, and the eliminated teams come back and have to help one of the final three. ;)

I don't know, but I do miss ES. I haven't watched Phil's diaries yet, need to check that out.

I miss ES terribly.....and stupid regulations won't let me watch the other videos on CBS.
