Official July 08 Code Watch Thread...FINALLY!!

I was so excited that I barely read it before calling. Unfortunately, I didn't read it well enough. It turns out that there the dates mine is good for is only until May 21st. She was very nice & told me to keep watching for another PIN and to make sure to give my email when asked. You better bet, I will. I want that PIN for July!!!! She said that they have not come out with July PIN's yet. Has anyone gotten a PIN with a date later than 5/21?

Count us in on this thread. Going last week of July into August 3rd to POR. Keeping fingers crossed for codes, but historicalloy not many offered for these dates.

I got a code via email for dates during May I think and then in July thru the first week of August. We are planning a trip July 13-20 so of course I got so excited then called Disney with my handy code.......only to be told athat the dates we are there are black out dates...............oh my stars...why must they toy with my emotions this way?? LOL

We made reservations last night for July 1-7. We're hoping for AP codes for that week, but know that it may not happen.
First time in the heat and crowds of July, but expect them to be similar to some of the late May & late June crowds we've seen in the past.

You can only use one discount. No stacking. Otherwise there would be people on the Dis who could figure out how to stay for free. LoL.

If its available, then you can switch. Some people manage to "apply" the new code to their original reservation. Others have to rebook. It seems to depend on the CM and the type of reservation you had.

For those of you who have gone in July before what are the odds for a general public good discount or free dining? Free dining is probably out the window right? I'm seriously thinking of switching to august if in March free dining is released for augusr sept! My vaca would be basically paid off at that point! I wonder if I should switched now based on past history or stick with July? So my question to I gamble and switch as it is I am going the end of July so it wouldnt be much of a difference! What do you think?Free dining is already out for the uk for 8/10/08 so if trends follow it would be released for us for those dates sometime in March or April! But it sounds like March from these boards!!! I know it's going to be hot then in july or august but it is a trip for my daughters 8th grade graduation in June! And I would love to go in October but I'm afraid to take her from school for a week her first year of High School! So we are settling for Summer!

Mousesavers has a wonderful little area that tells you exactly what discounts were offered when and where for several years back.

I do remember some AP and florida residents discounts came out for July last year. Honestly I didn't pay attention to anything but the deluxes. Free dining doesn't start until end August if I'm not mistaken to coincide with kids going back to school.

I'm seriously thinking of switching to august if in March free dining is released for augusr sept! My vaca would be basically paid off at that point! I'm pretty sure that there's no incentive for Disney to offer free dining in July. It's one of their busy seasons; they have no trouble packing the parks as is. I think free dining is meant to bring people into the resorts and the parks who might not otherwise come, and that's why it's offered in September.

Just a word of caution from a HS teacher: check your daughter's calendar for freshman orientation. Ours is the week BEFORE Labor Day. (That's why we're going the week before THAT!)

Unless the Powers at be at Disney co want to REALLY give some dreams, that wont happen.

Actually the free dining started in September, because people werent going due to the September Hurricanes a few years ago.

What I do to save some $ on dining is, we have our 'dinners' at lunch time. Half the price for the same stuff if you had it after 5:00pm. Then we eat a lunch type thing at night. Breakfest for us is always cereal, fruit or dougnuts in the room. We arent 'breakfest" people.

Also.....keep in mind some of the Sit down WDW eateries prices are the same, or not that much more expensive then the wait in line eateris in WDW! During the summer months all WDW sit down restuarants give free refills on their regular drinks.... I fill up on Ice Tea!

In 2006, we did exactly what you are thinking about, had booked in July but switched to August to utilize the free dining. It started around the 15th and we were able to get 8 nights in before we had to get back for the start of school. I'm not sure when the free dining started last year, but I want to say it was around mid month. It might be a bit of a trade-off, you get the free dining but next to no down time before school starts.

I'd like to know about July codes as well. We'll be going either July 17th or 18th for 8 nights. I have a conference for 3 nights off site but would rather stay on site and commute. My DS1 will turn 2 while we're there!

Was the code AP or a public discount? We will be at the WL from 7/2-7/6 then off to DCL. Sure would be nice to get some extra spending money!
