Official Disneyland ½ Marathon & 5k

I just checked KT Tape's Facebook page and looks like they are scheduled to be there this weekend. I used them at the rock n roll last year and I never had an issue with my knee. That tape stayed on for like a week.

As long as KT Tape is there, they should do the taping for free. I think they only tape one area for free. If you want say both of your ankles taped, they ask that you buy some tape. The pro tape stays on a bit longer so you could ask them to use that tape. Be careful taking it off, I was told that it's a lot stickier than the regular tape. You might need baby oil or to wet the tape to loosen the adhesive.

I have a roll of regular and the roll of pro. No issues with it coming off :rotfl2:
I actually took a picture of the tape peeling off after two miles into our long run. I am going to show it to them.

I'm glad KT Tape is going to be there. I find whenever someone else tapes my ankle, the tape stays on and has more tension. I think it's because the other person is able to apply it at a better angle.

Does 85 Degrees only sell moon cakes?

KT Tape will be at the expo so that's good. I also have trouble with the tape adhering to my calves.

Also, if you have the time and chance, I recommend that you swing by the bakery. I really dig the moon cakes there.

I'll have a chance to do so. I'll have a rental which wouldn't be a problem to get there unless i am in traffic. What else do you recommend getting there?

Looks like the weather is not going to be as ideal as I hoped. We are still hitting one of the best days of the week, but it looks like race start could be 67. At least they are predicting overcast which should keep the temperature from rising too much. Make sure and hydrate well.

Me and my family have a sweet tooth so just about everything they have is good. Me personally, I also like their Golden Dollars.

Okay ladies I need some advice here. I am going to be wearing a Cinderella style dress/costume on Sunday. I have a matching bra to go with it. However I haven't worn that style of bra since June. And I don't have that style of bra in blue. Note the dress is a tie in the back dress so yes the bra kind of shows. Now it isn't a matter of comfort, the other bra is comfortable its just the other one is slightly more comfortable. So what you do? Go with the matching or go with the slightly more comfortable? And if the later what color would you go with (have beige, black, and purple).

Coming from Orlando where its 80 when the sun comes up right now I think 67 sounds heavenly... :rotfl2:

Personally, I would go with the matching. Maybe start wearing the "not as comfortable" one now so you kind of get used to it.

I love your costume idea. I'll be dressing as "Cindy" for the Princess 1/2 next Feb.

Sorry, but I'm not buying it. Last time I was in Orlando the overnight low was 27 and the high was 37. ;) [2010 WDW Marathon]

Seriously, I would rather have 63 for perfect conditions, but 67 and overcast really isn't too bad. The cloud cover keeps it feeling relatively reasonable. I lived in Dallas, TX for a few years so I do appreciate what bad weather really is. Waking up for a morning run and having it be 85, for three months in a row, gets really depressing.

And as for the bra, go big or go home. Discomfort will only last for 13.1 miles, but race photos last forever.

We've been over 100 for the last several weeks so anything below that is ok with me. Lol.

I finally gave in and ran inside in the treadmill and it was so much better.

:thumbsup2 I like the way you think !!

This from the guy who ran two years ago as Peter Pan, dropped my hat (green hat with red feather) at mile 8, didn't notice it because of my wig, but had the guy behind me pick it up and tell me I dropped it. He was dressed as a cow. One of my favorite race memories.

Are you running in costume on Sunday ??

No. I had a blast doing it, but I was injured that year and couldn't race. It was my attempt at making the run more fun for me since I had to run it slower than usual. It worked, I had a blast.

But, this year I trained hard and am trying to defend my age group title, as well as possibly PR. Hard to do that in costume.

Peter Pan will be revived though in the second half of the Goofy Challenge in January--tights and all. Maybe not the wig. Several people told me the wig was scary. More Chuckie than Peter Pan.

This was from the 5k the day before. I got upstaged by Tink as you can imagine.

It's a great photo !! Good luck Sunday.

This is my entire approach to race clothing. I know people say that's ridiculous but I was comfortable for the 100 miles I ran training, for those 13.1 I want to look good.

Not going to be ideal? After a summer running in 90's and 100's with a (yahoo!) occasional rare treat of a day being in the upper 80's and humidity constantly throughout, this dry air 67 might be too chilly for me. :rotfl: I may need a sweatshirt. Oh to not feel like a wool blanket has been thrown on me when I step outside. :goodvibes

As to the KT tape, I've been using the regular kind (bought from Amazon) for an ankle tendonitis. It stays on through run and even through showers. I usually pull it off every 2-3 days and reapply. I watch the videos on the website - listen carefully to the stretch they tell you to give it at first vs how much stretch it should have when you actually apply it. Careful though, if you pull to stretch it too much, it does split. When you apply it, give it a real good rub the entire length of the tape to make it stick. I was skeptical about the benefits of the tape, but it has helped with the tendonitis. Or at a minimum, it's doing a good number on my head making me think it's helping. ;) I'd like to have them professionally wrap my ankle at the Expo.

i've put on the kt tape last night and it is starting the peel from shower and of course just walking around the office. I am going to let it stay on for a couple more days and then reapply. I would rather have a profesional apply it on. This will have to do. Its getting better and i am not going to attempt to run at all until race day.

I am like a few of the previous posters and looking forward to the nice cool weather. I am from north Texas and I had to run at night when it was 95 with lots of humidity. Looks like it will be great weather Sunday.
