Euphoria, I saw your cakes on your dining report. Those are amazing!

Of course! The bakery is called Buttercup Cakes, they have a website: http://www.mybuttercupcakes.com/default.html and the owner, Dani, is really great to work with. Our cakes were about $200 a piece and the delivery fee was $20.

Wow! That's a really good price, considering Disney just charged me almost that much for a one-tier 6-inch cake with a few Floralytes stuck in the top!![]()

Not cool at all. That's exactly why I decided to go off site-- I didn't mind paying a lot but I wanted something awesome for the money.I'm going to get the cake for us to have in our room. I assume it'll be in a box as I'm picking it up from the BB. We'll probably eat off of it for 3 days, maybe 4. Should I pack something in our suitcase to keep the cake fresh? If so, what do you suggest.
Also (yes, 2 questions!) should I pack a knife to cut it with, plasic plates and forks or do you think I could get something from the hotel (ASMu) to cut/eat it with?
Yes, call the Cake Hotline. You can try requesting a specific flavor, but it seems like it's kind of a crapshoot what you'll get.

Here's the trick: If you order a cake with mousse filling between the layers, it will spoil if you don't refrigerate it, no matter what you keep it in. This last time, I ordered a cake with buttercream frosting between the layers and brought a large Tupperware to keep it inand it lasted for 3 or 4 days afterward.
I'm always leery of bringing anything resembling a knife through TSA. You might investigate getting one of those serrated plastic pie/cake servers though, and maybe papr plates. ASMu's food court will have all the plastic cutlery you need.

What about a chocolate slipper? We got one for DD at 1900 PF. It's under 20 bucks.

Hi, I ordered the slipper and my anniversary cake about 3 weeks out. Did it all on the same day. I called GF private dining.I would love to order one of these for my 5 year old niece. We're going to 1900 Park Fare on our first night and it's her first trip. How far in advance do I need to call to order it? We arrive April 18th.

i had thoroughly scoured the interwebs and this hread to find examples of HM cakes - and a few that folks weren't so happy with... up till the final surprise reveal, i didn't know exactly what we would get - but it was stunning! my groom was truly surprised and the cake has been the talk of the wedding!! ultimately, i submitted several pics from these boards and the interwebs along with a request for HM elements (wall paper, hitch hiking ghosts, the 999 years quote somewhere and a picture of us) - here are the amazing results!
If I thought I could, I'd make a Father's Day ADR at one of the GF restaurants & drive over for the day just to get my DH one. I'm assuming it also came from the GF bakery, correct?Wow, I'm speechless over that HM cake. You definitely got the deal of the century. I have a feeling we couldn't duplicate that price for that cake, but it would be worth a try.If I thought I could, I'd make a Father's Day ADR at one of the GF restaurants & drive over for the day just to get my DH one.
