*totally bumping this because I hope someone will answer my Boardwalk Bakery questions*
Thank you, Lisa! That's just what I needed!
Great! Now I can go looking at cakes and choose a design.
Mixie..what is your question about the BW Bakery? We got a wonderful cake from there in January...I haven't had a chance to post the picture yet but it was amazingly beautiful and tasted just as delicious!
I am new to this thread. I thought someone here might be able to answer my question. I am making a cake for a beach themed bridal shower and was wondering if it is okay to use real sea shells on the cake? Has anyone done this?
**confession - I have no idea what fondant tastes like - it doesn't look very edible - am I totally wrong about it? **
Fondant is edible but generally doesn't taste very good. It has the texture of modeling clay and frankly, I think I'd rather eat that.

Thank you. So, no fondant for sure. DD would *not* be happy if she couldn't eat the 'icing'.
Hi everyone. We're staying at the BC end of May-beginning of June and wanted to order from the Beach Club private dining for a custom cake. I was trying to think of something different than Mickey or Minnie and my daughter loves Bolt. I looked all over but hadn't seen anyone else post a pic of one, so has anyone ever seen a Bolt cake?
And have you all had good luck with the BC bakery?
Mixie-I am not sure and if I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me. Under the 'fancy icing' is usually the GOOD icing, so she would be able to eat it. I know from purchasing a wedding cake with it on that my baker had the fondant over the icing and he told us to peel it off if we didn't like the taste because there would be really sweet stuff under it. There was!
To order the slipper desserts for dinner at CRT , do I call the Cake Hot Line !!Iwill neded 2 for DGDS 16th birthday in August !! Do they offer choices of white chocolate or regular and different mousses !!??
We will be celebrating my dd's 7th bday in April and I would Love to order her a custom cake, but she does not like cakes. Does anyone know if you can get decorated cookies delivered to 1900 pf or chocolate covered strawberries? If so, any ideas on pricing?
I have been sorting through these threads and am amazed by some of the gorgeous cakes
Am I understanding this correctly...If I want a custom ("fancy") cake at Ohana, I need to order it from CR?
Does anyone know what the delivery charge is?
Can I get a square cake?
We are celebrating our anniversary at WDW and think the cake sounds like a fun idea!

I ended up going with a bakery in Kissimee for my cakes because the Disney ones seemed so hit or miss. They were expensive, but worth every penny!
The Mike one is coconut cake with key lime filling, and the Wall-E one is red velvet with cream cheese filling.
