My apologies for the long winded post. LOL
I was going to call the contemporary this morning, but had 2 email's from them when I woke up.
I wanted to get your opinions, since I have never ordered cakes before.
The cake I ordered yesterday for delivery to POP is a 2 tier mini cake chocolate with chocolate mousse filling
decorated to look like Mickey Mouse with chocolate Mickey ears on top price is $35 which I prepaid.
The e-mail I sent to the contemporary cake e-mail basically said this:
"I am thinking of ordering a 2 Tier Mini Cake for our Cali Grill dinner.
I would like it to say Happy 21st Birthday Joseph on the cake board.
He loves Pirates of the Caribbean and chocolate cake.
I would love to talk to someone who can help with the design."
Here is the e-mail I received today from Donald, cake decorator at the Contemporary.
"Hi Michelle, we can make a mini 2 tiered cake decorated in a pirate theme and the price would be $65.
This would include a small 2D image of the Pirates of Caribbean image next to it.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
To place your order, please contact our cake hotline at
407-824-2955 and a cast member will assist you."
The 2nd e-mail was from Carolyn in the Private dining...
"I see the bakery has answered your e mail concerning a $65.00 pirate mini 2 tier cake.
We can do this cake in vanilla with a white chocolate mousse filling or a chocolate with a dark chocolate mousse filling.
I would need the inscription you’d like on the base plate as well as the confirmation #, time and name the reservation would be under.
For those of you experienced with ordering cakes at WDW...
He didn't really elaborate what the cake would look like other then "pirate theme with a small 2 D image next to it."
I'm wondering why almost double the price?
Does this sound right? I'm a little nervous.
