Ok, so i had 3, count em, 3 light bulbs blow out on me last night, and of course 1 is in the ceiling fixture in the kitchen which i need a stepladder for, and the other 2 are hall lights that i also need a stepladder for.

So i finish changing all 3, go grab a drink and it hits me.

How come lightbulbs blow out so darn quick, but your refrigerator bulb lasts 20 years?

you want to know the truth about lightbulbs? This is what I read somewhere. Actually, lightbulbs can easily (and cheaply) be made to last years and years (if not forever). However, light bulb companies would never make money if people didn't constantly have to buy new ones, being that they are so cheap. So they are purposefully made to blow out after a while.

BTW, I don't know if anyone has heard of this...maybe it's a North Carolina thing...but once a year we had this thing at a football game called "Cow Bingo" or something like that. The field was marked into a grid by a land surveyor and you bought a "square". A cow was let onto the field and...well...if it pooped in your square, you won! Wow, we were rednecks.

In our part of Ohio, it is referred to as "meadow muffin bingo"

It's 74 right now, here in Maryland, with a bit of rain falling now and the loom of thunderstorms hanging over us. Crappy thing is, tomorrow the HIGH is supposed to be 46!

Needless to say, everyone will be sick next week!

It's 82 here today (Savannah) with a slight chance of a passing thunderstorm from that cold front. Tomorrow the high is expected to be about 61. A twenty degree drop in temperatures? I am in the minority here in that I would MUCH rather have the 61 (lower would be nice ) temperatures than 80's in November. How un-holiday like

We were 80 degrees yesterday- in the 50's today and will be in the 40's tomorrow- and you can add to that temperature change- the fact that because the hurricane blew off all the leaves on the trees we are currently experiencing Spring time with flowers in bloom, new leaves on trees, and all the associated pollen that goes along with it- plus the mold- sick is the thing to be in South Louisiana lol

it's about 75 here, warm breezes but very windy, which is just bizarre.

I mean there are dead leaves blowing everywhere, the lawns are dead, the trees are bare, and here i am in a t-shirt and shorts.

But, since the big dude upstairs has a sense of humor with good ol mikey, i made sure to go find my snow shovel today. because i know its just a matter of time
