Hi everyone!

We're getting quite a group together!

Which brings me to this...

I spoke to someone at DCL today who gave me the info on reserving the private dining room at PALO.

I think it seats 12-20? Adults only.

The problem is figuring out when.

Pirate Night for that cruise hasn't been determined yet.

Should we book it for brunch instead of dinner?

Would that work better for everyone?

Brunch on a sea day?

Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and giant prawns??

Let's just go now, ok?

Anyway, I'm all ears (well, not really).

Just let mw know what you all would like to do.

My DD will turn 10 on October 28th while on the cruise, DS will be 12 (and he already thinks he's a teenager at 11)

My DS birthday is 10/28. He will be 22 and he is not going on the cruise. I think he got burned out on Disney. He has refused to go with us since he was 14. I almost fell over when he asked me to take him down during his break between spring/summer college classes. He finally told me why, since he is 21 he can go to the clubs. Oh well, I will take what time I can with him.

LovableGluttons, If you plan it they will come. I like the brunch idea but we are up for whatever. Thanks for working on it.

Brunch on a sea day would probably work out, maybe the day after CC, Monday. This seemed to work out well for most on the last cruise, the first sea day..They have Mimosa's and Mimosa's with Midori, then on to the drink of the day!!!;) :woohoo:

I would love to have some adult time. I think a sea day would be good too.
And I think Brunch would be easier to get everyone together than dinner.
I agree with the other posting, if you plan it, they will come!!!

Does anyone know what night Pirate night is on this sailing yet?
I have to be truthful, I haven't done alot of planning for this cruise, I was busy with DVC membership, which we just closed on Wed.

Now off to planning my cruise!!:cool1:

Hey Lovable
Count us in for a Palo Brunch thing. That would be 5 adults in our group. Any activity involving food & adult beverages is on the top of our list! To heck with the dolphins & Mayan ruins. Bring on the giant prawns & mimosas!:cool1:

Thanks for setting this up, too.

I want to buy my DVC now! Michamoto, tell me how you purchased yours. I see the Saratoga Springs logo on our posts. Is that where you purchased? We want Old Key West.

I'll see about our first Sea Day for Palo Brunch. What a neat DIS meet that would be!

So far, shrpgl, Michamoto, Barndweller, Indea88, and the Gluttons.

That's 13 adults so far. I think that room may accomodate up to 24.

I'll call and ask. LOL

The CM at DCL I spoke to yesterday said the Pirate Night for our cruise hasn't been settled yet, but it will likely be after Costa Maya or Cozumel as they are still negotiating with those two places over the fireworks thing.

She told me to wait a couple of months, then call and see if its been decided yet.

Thanks LoveableGluttons!!!

We bought resale SSR through The Timeshare store.
We bought 150 points with a Feb use year. We were at Disney in Jan 07, and took the tour on a rainy morning, we loved it, and knew we would, but the price was still around 91.00 per point with 150 points minimum. I just missed the Friend and Family promotion that would of given me the points at 86.00. Anyways....we decided on resale, and got then at 82.00 per point and have 19 banked points, and now 150 points from Feb 1, 2007 and so on.
It was a very, very easy process, check out the DVC boards for more info too, they helped me with everything. You can PM me for me info too!!!
The point chart for 2008 cruise hasn't come out yet, so I am not sure if I will use some or any of my points for this vacation.
I am glad that I did it!!:rotfl:

We'd love to be in on the Palo brunch! Add 2 more adults (Valerie & Brian) to the list, please! We enjoyed the brunch the last time we went, but I think it would be awesome with a group.

We did the Eastern last time, and I think the only disadvantage to this double dip is one less sea day - we enjoyed the activities on board so much, that we'll miss that sea day. Actually as much as we did last time, there were several things we didn't get to do - mainly because our two are complete water rats (my neighbor says we don't have children - we have fish!) and wanted to spend all their time at the pool, and because DS2, who was 6 when we cruised last year, wasn't overly fond of the kids clubs and was ready to crash early each night.

So thought it would be fun to start a list...

What is one thing that you want to do this time that you didn't do last time? I'll start - Martini Tasting!!:woohoo:

Valerie

LovableGluttons, You better add my DH to the count or he might be mad at me. We did the brunch last time and he loved it.

NewfieMom, believe it or not, the last time we did not go to any of the clubs... I think I would like to go to one if my DH can stay up. For him, anything past 9 pm is late.He gets up at 4 am for work normally. Last time we did 8 days WDW and 7 day cruise, I read 14 books. I had to buy 5 books on the ship to read. This time maybe I will try not to read so much and do more activities on the ship.

We too are DVC members at BWV and SSR. When we go down in may I might add AKV. It is one of my favorite resorts when we run out of points and have to pay to stay.

Hello all!

I believe I have our roll call all up to date to message 171 (assuming that is the message number I just got assigned). Please let me know of any updates or fixes needed! Have a great day!!
:thumbsup2

We have DVC, too many..VWL,SSR,AKL. Thats how we cruise, not a good use of points but nevertheless:confused3
I missed wine tasting last time, and still can't seem to get to the theater for a movie. I did get to the Cove Cafe but not long enough to enjoy the bannana cream pie martinis..!!

Indea88,
did you use your points for this cruise yet? I am waiting for the point chart to be pubish to decide if I will use my points or not. I will in no way have enough, not with 5 of us and two rooms, but it will help out the costs for sure!!!!

I'm still awaiting the points for 2008 too! When I spoke with member services they said they were supposed to have them mid Feb!! I usually beg, borrow and steall most of our points for the cruise, then still have to put up money for the fourth person!!
If I didn't have DVC I wouldn't put up the cash amount in that lump some, especially for the Cat 3, my monthly DVC payments make it a prepaid vacation. Psychologically it feels better!!!! See how I rationalize??

Please add us (Tracy and Tammy) to the list for brunch. This is our sencond cruise but will be our first visit to Palo's.

Great, lets keep each other posted when they do come out. I got two inside rooms this time, I usually get a verandah, but it was so much more money. I may upgrade if I can get some use out of my points. We paid for DVC up front, so I really would like to use points rather than more cash. I guess we will wait and see!!!!

Loveable,

Please add us to the brunch! It will be me (Denise) and my dh (Tom). Thanks!!! We did the brunch on our last cruise and it is sooo good! Can't wait to have some of that stollen and jam...

Denise

Good Morning everyone
Wow our group is growing quickly!!!! Our last cruise was a double dip and the planning with our Dis friends made the cruise an even more magical experience. Pirate night was after Cozumel we will see if it is the same this time.

Hi Michelle!
Are you from Clermont? I worked at Circus World in college and commuted to Univ. of Central Fla from Haines City while living with an Aunt and Uncle...I wish I lived there now, I would take advantage of the Resident rate so I could cruise more!!!;)
