Hi Michelle!
Are you from Clermont? I worked at Circus World in college and commuted to Univ. of Central Fla from Haines City while living with an Aunt and Uncle...I wish I lived there now, I would take advantage of the Resident rate so I could cruise more!!!;)
Andie

Yes Andie I do live in Clermont and love it. I am lucky enough to live in on 3 acres. We are close enough to hear the Disney fireworks but far enough away to say we live in the country. How long ago were you here? The area has been being over developed especialy along 27.

Sorry - it's unlike me not to check in immediately, but we are booked on this cruise also.

It's My husband and me - in our mid thirties.
DD - 3 at time of cruise
DS - 6 at time of cruise

Hey everyone!

I haven't caught up, but will try to shortly.

I do notice you all are planning a brunch and we did this on our last cruise for our group and the room only accomodates 14. I did the planning with Disney for it and may be able to pull out my info on it if you guys need it.

I will skip it this time around. So no need to add us to the list.

See you guys around!

Welcome Castlegazer and family!!:cool1:

Michele..The last time I was in the area was in 2005, I couldn't believe the difference, I almost didn't recognize the area. My cousin was the mayor of Haines City and owned a McDonald's there, it had a great nature trail..but after five years he sold it, he now lives in Orange Park, near Jacksonville. That area has alot of memories for me, college, a few jobs along 27 when I was in college. My Aunt was the last relative to move from the area about six months ago, she was telling us about how busy it has become!!

I believe on our last DisMeet we had scheduled two brunches because the room only held so many. We had one on the first sea day and the second on the next sea day.;)

Alright bigben, where is the countdown? I really need a new one soon. The weather is really getting me down and I need something to bring me back up.
Going to WDW on may 1st. Hope the weather is better there. Already packed and ADRs made. Nothing else to look forward to in planning that trip.

Talked to my boss today. She told me they will be more major changes. Our hospital has been eliminating positions and benefits right and left. Hope I still have a job but if I lose mine then I will assume it is a sign to move to florida. I hear there is still a nursing shortage there. We have been talking about moving there for years.
Okay... time to start thinking good thoughts...cruise.. cruise.. cruise...
All better now.:)

my countdown shows 18 months and one week -
but bigben if you are around -
i love your weekend count

We're not Florida, but many of the hospitals here in Pa are looking for nurses.

Almost 20 degrees below normal here. Please tell us all of your upcoming WDW trip. Do you have your LGMH ready?

Sean

I think Pa would almost be like In as far as the weather. It is funny though that when it is cold I long for the warm weather but when it gets hot all I wish for is cool weather(not cold). Is there anywhere that the temps are always in the 60's-70's? I know Fl is not perfect as far as the weather goes, Hot and humid, rainy season etc. but I remember the times we were down there and I think we saw a rainbow almost every day.

Okay I give. What the heck is LGMH? Lets go my house, little goats milk happy, large girls make hula? What?
Me, DH and DS are going to drive down 22 hrs straight and do 4 days universal and 4 days WDW. We are staying at Portofino and then BWV. My DS wanted to go so we are going between his college classes. He has not wanted to go with us for 6 years but since he turned 21 he wants to experience the clubs.

LGMH= Lime Green Mickey Heads. From the Disney paint collection at Home Depot. Actual color is alien green. People use them to proclaim their allegiance to the DIS. Like how, I've heard, some cruises get the same wrist band for all the DISers on the ship. To help spot each other.
Sean

That would be helpful. On our last cruise there was an informal meet and greet by pool. We meet a few DISers and then never saw them again, or at least did not recognize them later on. Guess I better make a trip next week to Home Depot.

RN here from Jersey, there's a shortage everywhere. There has been one for at least 15 years in this area....Working in this profession you need a few cruises a year:eek:
Our last DisMeet was in the promanade lounge, that worked out pretty well, we had the lime green wrist bands but they are not easy to see. There must be an easier way to ID! The brunch was a good way to remember people..after that, we remembered each other throughout the week..

Our last cruise we met at the promenade lounge and also had the wrist bands ( which I really loved!!!) Our Dis group was huge and I thought the lime green wrist band really helped. They really made it easy to identify each other.
shrpgrl
We live in Fla (30 mins from disney).. The winters a HEAVEN but summers can be h--l. The weather forcast is always the same durning the summer 91 and rain!! But the winter months and Mickey make it all worth while.

Where have groups been getting their wristbands? Our 10/07 cruise is thinking about them.
Thank you,
Sean

I have never been to a Dis meet in fact my visit to WDW last year was the first one in 20 years! But I hang out on the Dis so much that when I made a trip to Home Depot last week I actually "borrowed" some LGMH just in case our group decides to use them as identifiers of some kind. I'm prepared!

I am going to make some special teeshirts for my family. I don't know what yet but they will probably have something on them that includes lime green.

I ordered the wrist bands for our last cruise and they were awesome! The best thing we did! It was like having family everywhere on the ship.

Reminderbands was what we used.

Have you guys checked out the disney.com and outlets? They have some cute tropical family outfits and kids PJ's. My kids wore those cute PJ's in Feb on our cruise. The prices are great too.

When the date gets closer and I can PM or email anyone the list of "must haves" for the cruise!

Hi, wondering if this thread is for the Magic trip to Costa Maya?(10/25/08)
I'm in UK & hoping to book this cruise some day soon-Had various quotes-Who you all booked with & whats the best deal?
Thanks x :surfweb:

Hi Sally
Yep, that's the one. A bunch of us have signed on board & are having fun together counting down the long wait. We hope you will be joining us. I booked my cruise directly on the DCL website. I found the price was pretty comparable with some of the travel agents and I prefer to handle my own travel arrangements.

Okay, another weekend down for me.   I have to work night shift tonight and then come home to sleep. When I get up at 4 pm we are leaving for Florida. 4 days universal 4 dayd WDW. I have a feeling we will drive over to WDW 2 of the Universal days. I know you might think I am nuts but I love the drive down. 22 hours and I know the guys will sleep most of it. I always stay awake, guess I am afraid to miss something. When I get back I will start finalizing everything for our sept alaskan cruise and DL trip.:cool1:
