Good morning. I decided to stay home today. This cold has been kicking my butt and then woke up with a fever today so I didn't want to go to work and pass it along to my coworkers. It's weird, today is the first day I have felt better but also the first day I have a fever.

Susan - so excited to hear that you met up with Julie and Denine. Sorry that you had a not so proud mom moment, I am sure he is kicking himself for that.

Mom - send me the pic so I can post it.

Denine - Try and make some time for yourself so you don't get too overwhelmed. I have to start Christmas cards too.

Barb - How are you enjoying these cold temperatures? I don't think it has been above 20 degrees for the last few days. These single digit temperatures are cold! Did you get much snow?

Howdy!

Poor, poor Heidi!

Denine, sounds like you ladies had a great time. Glad Jazzy is feeling better.

Barb, when do you go to WDW? I haven't lost weight yet but maybe I could fit in your luggage. Think so?:confused3

Heidi, I got Sue's gift today. Both you and Stacey get one too!!! I'll keep what it is a secret.

Hi everyone. I have a question. I got my Secret Santa gift and I wanted to make sure I am doing this right since I have been out of the picture for a while. Do I open it now and post what I got and from who (or should I say whom)?

I also got a wonderful gift from my manager and her manager today. I only have 12 hours of PTO time remaining for the year because of all the unexpected time off I had to take for my Dad. They told me to day that I am not to come to work from Dec 24 - Jan 1. They said it was a gift to me to spend with my family since I am so willing to go the extra mile at work and even when not at work. They want me to have some special time with my family since some things you can never get back. They had me in tears. I am so greatful for the management team I have now. They have been super supportive and I never imagined they would do this. I was also told I can not take any work home and I can not come into the office. WOW!

I did have to take Turner to the doctor today and he does have a severe sinus infection. They are starting with 3 weeks of Augmentin and if it is not completely gone then, she will extend it.

Oh well. Not much more going on here.

Later...:grouphug::grouphug:

Susan - Oh wow, I have tears in my eyes from reading your post. What a great thing for your work to do. Wow, that really makes you feel appreciated I am sure. What a great gift they gave to you. I think we usually set a date where everyone opens up their secret santa gift, but not too sure...my memory is failing me.

I am feeling better today and back at work. Chris got me a little frustrated this morning because we had to drop off my car at the autobody shop. First he made sure that I had to follow him to the place so I did and he got lost so he kept making us flip around. He insisted he knew where it was since he was there just a week ago (I had been there before so I knew too) finally I just passed him and went to the place. Then he assured me that he had seen a key drop when he was there so we could drop it off early in the morning. I asked him to call the place to see if we could drop it off and he said they said it was okay. Get there this morning to find out there isn't a key drop off. So we left my car there and he has to go back there at 8:00 to drop off the keys. I wanted to drop it off yesterday and hand them the keys but he didn't want to do that. Ugh! Oh well it is there and it is him that has to go back this morning in the snow.

Susan: That is awesome for your work to do that for you. Jerry would get the same treatment when donkey's fly! Hope Turner feels better!

Heidi: Glad you are feeling better.

I was on the phone again yesterday with University hospitals (UH), they called to confirm that I had meade the appointment for February. Then I was talking to them again and I talke with the lady i spoke with on Friday. She couldn't believe what the nurse had told me. She is going to try to work with someone to get us an earlier apppointment! I really hope it works. I have to say, the scheduling department is really trying to help us.

Supposed to get some yucky weather the next couple of days, a little bit of everything.

Gotta go up to work today to finish my yearly requirements, what a pain, but if I don't I can't keep my job.

Can't wait to go to DC and our friends over New Year's!

I am managing to get an hour of Wii in every day still. I hope it continues to pay off. At least my tension headaches seem to have gone away with the exercise.

Susan, that is awesome! Wow, they really care for you.

Denine, how exciting that they are working with you for an earlier appt. Sure hope it works out!

Heidi, it seems like everytime we go to Hopps it is a snowy day. I don't get it. Don't over do today, ok?

I'm so proud of me. I drove to Weight Watchers this morning. I lost another 1.2 pounds. Not sure if I would have gone because of the roads if the leader wasn't offering an incentive before the holidays. We were to go every week (only to her meetings) and we would get a sticker. If we attended all sessions then she is putting us in a drawing. This is strictly done by her and out of her pocket. It worked! I went every week.

Yay mom, I am proud of you! Way to go. I think I over did it a little bit, my stomach is starting to act up again, yuck.

Denine - I hope they can get her in earlier, I am so glad someone else is trying to help you. Good job for continuing on with the Wii.

Thanks Heidi.

I wish I could crawl up with a nice warm blankie and take a nap. I am exhausted. I just couldn't do that and feel good about it while Ted is at work. Bet I sleep tonight!

I was driving to work and Chris's truck said it was -16 outside, and then got to work and the news said with the wind chill it was -32. Of course since it is so cold, my darn cold water pipes froze up. We ran the water last night and kept the cabinets opened with a ceramic heater but they still froze.

Heidi: I hate frozen pipes! Good luck

Sandy: Good for you!

Got my yearly requirements done!

I have pork and sauerkraut in the crockpot, beer-rye bread in the bread machine and I will heat up the spaetzle later for dinner.

I am taking tomorrow off from school. I just have so many things to get done and no time to do them. So, Kaleigh gets the next 2 days off cause Jerry can't do it with her on Friday when I work.

Haven't heard anything from UH yet. Still keeping my fingers crossed!

High wind warning for today until the wee hours, supposed to snow later and tomorrow. So glad I don't live in the snow belt anymore!

Denine, I was showering today and it popped in my mind that I didn't congratulate you on YOUR weight loss. Good for you! Keep up the good work.

Heidi, I am soooo sorry about your pipes. Do you need anything from us?

Barb must be in WDW now. Ted's sister and entire family are there, too. Great time for people to escape the cold Colorado weather.

Went to the dermatologist again today. She re lasered my fingers. Good grief that hurts!! Hopefully I won't need it again!

Sandy: Ouch!

Barb is in WDW already? Man I thought she still had 9 more days.

It is quite windy out, gusts up to 55mph and cold!

I am so happy right now. The schedulers at UH came through. Kaleigh now has an appointment on January 4th! We get back from Virginia on the 3rd. Unfortunately, we have to go downtown to the main campus, but whatever it takes. Two years ago we had to do the same thing; get back from WDW then take Kaleigh to the UH main campus for surgery the next day. The one thing I Love about Cleveland is our World class medical care. We have one of the best children's hospitals in the country. Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

I don't know if I'll be on tomorrow or not. I am going to try to get a ton of stuff done.

Yippee Denine. I am so happy for you. I can't believe Kaleigh is getting in. Great news and a good Christmas present!! Tyler goes to Children's Hospital for his epilepsy. Stay warm.

I thought Barb said a few days ago that she only had 4 days left. Maybe I am the confused one.

Hi everyone. My Dad was taken to the hospital yesterday. They thought maybe he had a stroke. He had shooting pain in his head followed by numbness and tingling on the left side of his face and he was slurring his speech. Most of it has subsided but the numbness started back with his tongue, chin and throat this afternoon. After all the tests (CT scan, MRI etc), it turns out no stroke, no seizure, no blood clot, but the cancer has spread further. It is now not only in his skull but in the lining surrounding the brain. Not life threatening at the momnet so they discharged him tonight and they are sending his test results to his oncologist in Charlotte and we already had an appointment for Friday so we now will have more to discuss. If he needs to be readmitted for more tests we will stay in Charlotte instead of hospital that is closest to his house.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Love ya!
:grouphug:

Susan - I'm sorry. Keeping you and your dad in my prayers. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. :grouphug:

Denine - That is great news they can get Kaleigh in earlier. One less thing for you to worry about now.

I think Barb is in WDW right now.

Good morning.

Susan, I am sooo sorry about your dad. Pixie dust and prayers for all of you.

Another cold morning but we are to hit a high of 20 so that's much better. We will see the 40's finally this weekend.

Looks like perhaps the laser killed all the warts as the spots are not turning black after this last time. She told me yesterday that this procedure isn't FDA approved. I found that absolutely hilarious. I'm thankful they are doing it that's for sure!!

Susan: I am sorry about your dad. Pixie dust that you will all be able to be together for Christmas.

I got a lot done today. Kaleigh helped with most stuff. We made triple layer pb brownies for her party Sautrday morning and I made gingerbread dough and cutout dough. I still have 1 more batch of cutout dough to make tonight. We wrapped what presents there were left to be wrapped. I wrote the twice a year letter to Kaleigh's birth parents. I did 90 minutes on the Wii. I still need to work on Christmas cards to get those finished and mailed.

I work tomorrow. It is so cold outside.

I am just taking a break right now to play on the computer.

Sandy: Glad your warts seem to be gone!

Good grief Denine, You got a lot done! I'm tired just thinking about it.

I made two batches of no bake cookies. Tomorrow I am making a batch of cinnamon chip cookies. Heidi and I have a cookie party to go to at our DISfriends. She is going in for surgery on Monday so I am also putting a casserole together for her.

Hope Susan's dad is improving.

Hi Sally!
