Just wanted to say that I thought the speech that Obama gave on
racism yesterday was AWESOME.

It is so pleasant to listen to someone that knows there way around the
English language.

I was just wondering something. What flavor of Kool Aid are we all drinking? We have to make sure we stick together, you know.

Another programming note:

OBAMA INTERVIEWED LIVE ON NIGHTLINE TONIGHT

As far as Stewart, I agree with him, but too bad there aren't more adults around...

I am feeling lucky that I keep my political and religious beliefs to myself, for the most part. It is nasty on the other threads and I just can't understand why.

I guess no one, except supporters of Senator Obama, knows a racist that they love despite them being racist. My own mother has said some pretty hateful and insensitive comments, but I still love her. I still go to her for advice and I still think she is a wonderful person. She starts chemo today, and I sit here wondering how she will do, and what I can do for her later to help make her feel better. But, when she gets into one of her rants, I just roll my eyes at her and shake my head. My sisters and I have told her to shut-up if our kids are around when she talks like that, but we still love her. I guess what I am trying to say, is according to a lot of folks out there, I am a bad person because i still love my mother, despite her racist views.

DH and I actually watched Nightline last night, that does not happen too often. We both feel like a lot of others here do, that this man and his views are so needed for this nation.

I think your experience mirrors many here, even though they may not be able to admit it. Hope your mom is well, my father had bone cancer and it is a very painful and difficult time. I agree, the time is right for Obama, we need a positive turn in our nation, his speech helped to illuminate that.

I just love all these Pro-Hillary conservative posters who are coming out of the woodwork lately to bash Obama. What is really getting their goat is that they expected the Democrats to annoint Hillary and this election was supposed to be a cakewalk for them. They have been waiting to unleash their pent up 8 years of hatred toward Hillary, and now Obama has gone and taken the mickey out that plan.

Now they are tyring to convince us they really like and respect Hillary and would rather see her as president then Obama. No, they just had more ammo stored up on her and they are grasping with straws trying to bring Obama down.

Best of luck to your mother with the chemo. It's tough.

I so hope Obama makes it to the White House. It would be a great thing.
