Rasmussen today....
In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, Obama now leads Clinton 47% to 42%.

Up from 44/43 yesterday.

Good to know about the polls. Can I say I appreciate so much that the participants on this thread really try to engage in civil discourse? I am, I guess, too weary to be shocked by the vitriol coming from two other candidates supporters.
For the ones who are truly committed to supporting either Democratic candidate, I salute you.

Finally, I've learned today that Dem or Rep, both sides have increasing numbers of posters that I need to pop onto ignore. It's a good thing. :rotfl:

I just love all these Pro-Hillary conservative posters who are coming out of the woodwork lately to bash Obama. What is really getting their goat is that they expected the Democrats to annoint Hillary and this election was supposed to be a cakewalk for them. They have been waiting to unleash their pent up 8 years of hatred toward Hillary, and now Obama has gone and taken the mickey out that plan.

Now they are tyring to convince us they really like and respect Hillary and would rather see her as president then Obama. No, they just had more ammo stored up on her and they are grasping with straws trying to bring Obama down.

I sometimes think I'm in an alternative world these days...

I hope they post it on the Obama website. I was looking forward to hearing that speech.

It was very good, CNN stopped the live stream about 30 minutes in... it was very detailed.... I also hope they put the whole thing on the website.

I just counted 4 threads on Obama on the first page alone - :lmao: The Conservatives can't talk about why they like McCain because we all know they really don't - they can only talk about why they dislike Obama.

I've been watching for a "McCain Supporters Thread!" but oddly enough, there isn't one! I believe that there was one for Romney when he was in.

Of course if one shows up now, it would be kind of funny-since the lack of one has been mentioned so often. :lmao:

What did he have to say (a brief rundown :) )?

Oh Gosh it was long and very precise... He talked about pulling out the one or two brigades per month, leaving counter terrorism in to hit targets as needed should we need to hit targets. He spoke about a lot of things specifically the Iraqi government's need to step in, and they need a shove to do it.. He spoke of the Iraqi people

He also spoke about Pakistan, how he'd suggested many months ago to hit targets in the foothill's where we DO know that the Taliban are set up, the other two candidates laughed that off, and so did the President, but look just a few weeks ago we just started doing it. How there is a moderate majority in Pakistan and they deserve to have their voices heard, the rise in terrorism within Pakistan was mentioned.

He spoke at great lengths regarding Afghanistan and the help we must give the country, the poppy trade was mentioned.

He said our troops have worked bravely and diligently but they are tired, and we need a foreign policy that makes sense. I do believe he mentioned Israel, and how we are less safe as the result of our policy & Israel is less safe as well with Hamas in charge next door....

There were a lot of things discussed, I cannot possibly touch on all of it, but this is a very brief rundown.

I guess you know who they don't want to face...

I want to know what it is in his voting record that has people so scared off?? What policy making has he done that is so scary.

Oh, he did call for the immediate return of Habius Corpus in his speech.

Good question. All we hear is he sat there for 20 years, as if that is all he did. They offer nothing else.

The only thread on McCain is that he wasn't born in the USA. Non issue.

I think the pastor thing will go away if the media stops playing those clips over and over again. As many have said, the ones who will hold that against him were never going to vote for him, regardless of what they claim.

I think the Pastor thing will go away anyway. Most people are more interested in the price of gas, milk, and other staples then they are about this. CNN is reporting that issue #1 for Americans is the economy, #2 is the war-Pastor Wright isn't even on the list.

They give McCain about as much attention as they would a pet rock. :rotfl:

Man I think it was great how Obama was able to substantiuate that he is really a black man by joining Rev. Wrights church and then throwing his white grandmother under the wheels of the bus in his speech yesterday. That was great. Just another reason to vote for him.:worship:

Very sad that this is what you took from such a powerful speech.

By the way Obama is bi-racial, he is just as white as he is black.
