I'm back. Had to rush off to have bfast with my guys.

Almost forgot........Happy Mother's Day Everybody!!!

We ordered flowers for DH's Step Mom and she got them Friday. They were a bouquet a mixed flowers. The vase was broken and when she filled it, it leaked everywhere! She took it back to the florist and they replaced the vase and gave her roses for her trouble. I'm glad she got it worked out but sorry she had to mess with it at all.

Ctinker, I hope they are wrong about the flooding!! I think it has finally let up here.....for now. 90% chance of rain.

Gotta go study!! Have a great day everyone!

Maybe that is the issue, there is a local high school put in lock down today with shots fired right outside the front doors and a few other pretty big news stories. Well, maybe if someone came running out the front door of our building foaming at the moth with a third eye growing they would put it on the news. I can tell you this the NIMBY's that live around there are going to throw a fit if this is in the local paper tomorrow and they knew nothing about until then. At least that will be fun.
I seen that story on the news also; heard it was a gang retaliation for a murder last week in Lynn. What is the world coming to?

I remember witnessing a gang fight in DTD 2 years ago also. Is anyplace safe anymore?

Ahh!! A gang fight in DTD? I knew they were having issues but hadn't heard that one - may have been the rock I was under. I remember reading that Disney was being challenged to deal with a lot of stuff at DTD but never heard this detail. Tourists at WDW are easy marks. You can have a false sense of security while at the "happiest place on earth."

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!! It is a beautiful day today in Kansas. DS is in a soccer tournament. Yes, on mothers day. DH and kids made breakfast in bed for me. Having a picnic later today and DH is doing all the cooking.

Laxmom..We are flying airtran in a couple of weeks because we were able to get tickets for 225. My brother says he has flown them and he thought they were fine. He said they are well known in the south.

Have a relaxing day everyone!

We would head to WDW Dec. 12 - 14 or so. I found amazing airfare on Airtran. Anyone ever fly them. The reviews seem good.

I flew from Denver to Boston on Airtran. No problems at all. Certainly no frills, but all the airlines are like that these days. Took off on time, landed early & didn't lose my luggage :thumbsup2 . Can't ask for more than that. Hope you have a great time in the World at X-mas :santa: . I'm jealous. I wish we could go this year, but we'll have to wait for next year.

My DW just received the very best of Mother's Days surprises: We made it through ROFR today!! :goodvibes

It took 16 days to make it through, if anyone's keeping track of such things. Here's the details:

150 points...SSR...$78/point...Feb. use year. With full 2008 points available, it was a good deal, and I'm still surprised that Disney let this one through. Nevertheless, Horray!!

We would head to WDW Dec. 12 - 14 or so. I found amazing airfare on Airtran. Anyone ever fly them. The reviews seem good. I have a $25 coupon for Mom's Day that I would have to use today to book or lose. That means tickets would be $325 for 2. We also have a ff ticket to use so it could actually be around $250 for 2 if I use that. I am still researching. I can't believe DH agreed - normally he gets all freaky if we take too many trips. I would love to stay at WL so we will see. It really depends on the total cost of the trip. If we can do it pretty reasonably, we will probably go. If not, I may decide to wait till 09.

We've used Airtran in and out of MCO twice and have been very comfortable with them. They are a basic airline, but they get the job done and do it with a fairly pleasant attitude. Our Sept. trip is booked through them as well. They typically have phenomenal rates for early booking through the internet, but take note that you will need to pay extra if you want a seat assignment. In addition they have an add-on program where you can upgrade, if room is available, to their businsess class at the time of checking in for a very low cost. Not something I would do with a family, but when DW and I travelled with them last fall, we took advantage and enjoyed it.

The only consideration I would have is the issue of airline bankruptcies. These smaller airlines are more prone to falling prey to the increase in gas prices. It might be worth pricing out trip insurance if your concerned about such issues.

Looks like a few of us got the news today. Once we hadn't heard about ROFR by end of the day Friday, I assumed it would be Monday at the earliest. Just checked e-mail a little while ago, and got this:

"Congratulations!!!!

I just received notification from Disney that they are waiving their right to purchase. This means that the package is officially yours. Generally in about 28 days you will receive final documents from Timeshare Closing Services."

:dance3: :woohoo: :cool1:

So, we've now taken up residence in Estoppelville. Hopefully we won't be there long. :wizard:

Happy Mothers Day!

And congrats to all that passed today!! WOOHOO!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Just wanted to check in and Wish all of you moms on this thread a Happy Mother's Day!!! I hope all of you had a wonderful day. Congratulations to M-I-C-K-E-Y and mickeyfan0805 for passing ROFR!

We are HOPING to hear this week on our intent to purchase the AKL resale...if it passes, we'll get a really good deal IMO (135 points, $90 per point, all 07 and 08 points)...it's a PERFECT amount of points and cost for our family right now. I am sure we'll add another 50 points or so down the road, but as an entry into the DVC world, it'll be perfect...wish us luck!

This is my first Mother's Day...thanks for the well wishes!

Thanks for the ongoing support and congratulations - it's nice to finally be a DVC-er, or at least a pending one!

OK, so I hate to even ask this, but does it really take 28 days to receive the documents from TTS or is that just in a "worst case" situation?

I'd like to know the same thing, but from what I've read on hear over the past few weeks, it seems to be completely unpredictable. Some seem to get through ROFR in 8-10 days, others take 3 weeks or more. There was one case of someone's entire process that was done offer to close in the time that Princess Amy was waiting for estoppel (her's took every bit of the 28 days). There seems to be a luck of the draw factor in play. Here's hoping we get lucky! pixiedust: pixiedust:

I think it's a case by Case kind of thing. First of all you have to get through estoppel which can be just as much fun as ROFR, right Amy. If the owners that are selling are not on the up and up with there points that will be found out in this phase you can ask Monami7 about that kind of fun. After you get through that, a lot depends on how fast the sellers and you get your paperwork back to them and also how busy they are. Remember the sellers have to have their paperwork notarized so it could take a little longer. It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to it, some people fly through the entire thing others get dragged out. Good luck!

Happy First Momma' Day, Laurie!!

Do you have to have things notarized if you are buying? We may get our paperwork this week. Here's hoping!! Someday, I too will have points!!;)

Other than a rather large check, all we had to send in to the closing agent was two, one-page, signed documents. I found that really surprising. Almost as surprising as the fact that our sellers apparently can't find a notary. Tomorrow will be 12 days since our closing docs were e-mailed to us, and I think they were e-mailed to the sellers the same day.

Congratulations to M-I-C and mickey fan...and anyone else. I never heard of anyone getting word on ROFR on a Sunday, until today. Pretty appropriate, though, with all the praying and stuff that goes into getting us through ROFR and espoppification...and now, trying to get through closecution!

Good morning all!! Happy monday!

MIL arrives today and will be here thru Friday. Not sure how much I will be able to check in so I wish pixie dust to all of those waiting for ROFR, estoppfication and closing!! This is gonna be our week!! I can feel it!!!

Got alot of homework do this weekend and I must say, my house looks goooood! Wish it always looked like this!!!

On the closing docs question- we are waiting for them.....still. We passed ROFR on 4/14. Hoping and waiting......

Have a great day!!!
