November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

We'll have to see how we feel. If we take the stairs instead of the elevator that counts as exercise I think. :teeth:

Most definitely!!

Haley's favorite activity is what she calls "runny, runny" - where she runs and you chase her. We can all take turns doing this for exercise and then she will be nice and worn out to go to bed! :earboy2:

Just thought I would post to see if I could join the stealers.

Houseforsale - you chatted up to post 1100......and all of this because of chocolate!.....The Palo's souflee is wonderful, but I prefer mine without the added sauce....Just chocolate....out poor waiter keep insisting that he "ruin" this lovely dark chocolate crust by wanting to pour over sauce, yech! Sauce bad, souflee good!!! DH just sat there with a smile on his face, he knows I love chocolate but not sweetness......Most desserts are over-sweet for me that is....(and it is not calories....)

I have committed (right!) to walk each morning. I am not a runner and do not like gyms, but last 4 days cruise, it was stretchy pants the last night....

I have heard they have a walking group each morning to sign up for, but I think I may be better on my own.....Anyone in this group walkers??? DH prefers the gym. I think it will be ready by our November cruise, only the October ones may be in jeapordy......so, no trips to Wal-mart for the mouse. :rotfl:

Countdown timers and other techical questions....

Under the first screen for Disboards, you will find one, near the bottom called:Technical Support. It has lots of information on posting countdown timers as well as the other questions on posting pictures in siggies. If you want to post pictures, you need to upload them to an internet site, again the Tech. Support provides some guidelines as well as free services for this...remember they will become public domain.....

Countdown timers are free and paid services. I use Tickerfactory.com as well as http://v50.net . There are others and some are listed on the Tech. Services Board.

Here is another hint...if you are interested in where the countdown came from - highlight it and right click. Then click on properties. It will list the URL and the first part of the URL is the website.

Yes, I'm a walker, but often find it really hard to get up early enough to do a good walk and still be where I need to be on time. I do like the gym too tho. I probably won't be "runny, runny" with PrincessHaley'smom tho. I too am not a runner.

o.k.-it just hit me, we get home on the saturday night before thanksgiving. between unpacking, laundry, jet lag...will i be functional on thanksgiving???

anyone else given any thoughts to weather they will "tone down" their thanksgiving day (we usualy have a house full of family, get the tree up for christmas...)? i'm thinking i will shop for all the non perishables before we leave, order pies from the bakery (well not the pumpkin-it makes the house smell good), and then hit the grocery store monday morning for the perishables. i think we will make it much more low key-"if you want to drop by o.k., but we will be recovering from vacation".

any other ideas?

We will be glad to drop by your house for Thanksgiving. We will bring my Mother...then I do not need to be functional. :rotfl2: Thank you for your offer..... :goodvibes

OK, I'm with Dis Nurse. I'm a work-out addict!! And, my DF is right there with me!. DH pulls a close third. I'll cry if the gym is not open. That's how I keep my sanity! While the Katrina cleanup was going on in Gulf Shores our gym (once the electricity was turned on) housed the national guard so it was closed to the patrons. AACCKKK!! And, it was too hot to run on the beach. Thank goodness my parents had electricity, and I could hop on their treadmill. It is truly my stress reducer and sanity maintainer. :hyper2: Plus,,,,with all the junk I put in my mouth, my fanny needs it! You'll see me scarf down a few soufles then run a few miles in the gym! The ying and yang of life for me!!!

Ok that's it...I am officially changing my name from FairyDisMom to Dark Choc_Drink of the Day.....Does that mean I have a special surprise waiting for me. :Pinkbounc :lovestruc

yes you will!

re. chocolate drinks, suggest trying the following:

(for a hot day): Smith and Kerns-kaluah, cream blended with soda water (like a chocolate soda with a kick).

(on a cool evening): either Mocha Mint Snuggler-decaf coffee, peppermint schnaps, kaluah-top with whipped cream (unsweetend if possible) or Chocolate Orange-decaf coffee, grand marnier and a shot of godiva liquor (tastes like one of those orange foil wrapped chocolates :) p.s. you can get the bottles of godiva at a very good price in the ports we are going to!

there used to be a restaurant/bar in my younger daze-they made blended drinks with ice cream  occasionaly we use their brandy alexander recipie.

anyone out there an irish coffee fan? try this sometime (only ever found one bar that did it, but it was awsome!) pour hot water into the cup before preparing the drink, then turn the rim (like with margarita glasses and salt) in a small saucer of sugar and cinnamon. very good on a cold day of christmas shopping :p

Hey Barkley,

Is there any way you could sneak some of Palo's choc. soufle off the ship?? I bet if you served that for Thanksgiving, no one else would even care about the rest of the menu! Problem solved!!

nope-they almost busted me for taking a half can of soda off the last time-they have the BIG TABLE with the warning signs and notices of what the fines are for taking any food off the ship (and i could not believe what had already been piled on it-c'mon, i can see grabbing an apple or banana for the kids but this was nuts!:guilty: i do have the recipie for the choc. soufle though-got an older wdw cookbook when it was only offered at victoria and alberts.

Ooh..that sounds soooo good. I will give them a try. I am planning on bringing a couple of boxes of chocolates as a thank you for the kids club workers (I read that tip on the boards somewhere). Now that I know we have others that LOVE chocolate I will have to keep my eye out for something special to share.

I thought I read a tip on the boards that you should order from room service the night before and then put the items in ziplock bags to bring on shore with you the next day. But, it sounds like that may not be allowed...Can anyone give me the low down?? I don't want to be the one in handcuffs being dragged off the ship.

I cannot figure this out either. I hear about ordering food and then it is cheaper on the islands and then I read that it is not allowed...

I also thought it would be great to pack a sandwich if we were planning on hiking...we may exchange hiking for diving so this would not be an issue...still, I do wish I knew what the answer was.
