November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

How would a "Titanic sinkhole survivor" tatoo look???

:rotfl: you are too funny! I have this thing about the Titanic.....even bought child-appropriate renditions of the story to give my kids this year 'cause I thought that this year they would be old enough to understand and somewhat appreciate.....needless to say I bought those books BEFORE we even dreamed of taking a Disney Cruise! :rotfl: So on the shelf they sit (collecting dust) 'cause now I wouldn't even dare think of introducing the remote thought of any ship possibly sinking! :rotfl2: Their imaginations are too wild (like mine) and they would immediately transpose that sinking possibility into their own destiny(s). :guilty:

The last thing I need after all of these arrangements and anticipation are our two kids finally making it onto the Magic, pondering, "Mommy!??? Is this thing gonna' sink? Could we die?" :guilty:

Good Morning Shipmates, one less day until we cruise.

I just added Minnestota to our state list.

Barkley - I need California.
Disnurse - how about Oregon?

Anyone else? Jump on in!!!!!!

I need to research the real Barkley's fear "Does not Cruise due to C.D.P.P."
(Chronic Duck Pirate Phobia)
Perhaps there is an antidote....

Hi Everyone,

We couldn't get into Palo's. Maybe there will be cancellations. I won't fret over it though.

Before I reserve Lord Sheffield's Pirate Cruise, does anyone have any kids ages 5 thru 8 joining them? After reading more about the description, I am a little concerned that it could be a booze cruise(as Seinfeld would say "Not that there is anything wrong with that"), and that my DS would be bored.

BTW, I don't think my DS has seen anyone drunk before. I will probably use the word "loopy" if I need to describe someone's inebriation(sp) status.

In any event, we have reserved the Atlantis Sub in St. Thomas at 8:30 AM. I figured that we are up early for customs anyway, might as well get as much done before noon then crash in the afternoon. I expect Atlantis to be a most er hosing experience. As in, "I paid $200 for this??!!" But, I am sure DS will get a thrill out of it and that is what matters to me.

Feel free to use me as your example of "loopy". Anytime during the cruise, in fact, whether I've been drinking or not ;) My kids DS4 & DD6 will be with us for the pirate cruise. Of the 14 booked so far (barkley, 4formickey, choc_marg crews), 6 of us are under age 12 (ages 2,4,4,6,8,11?).

Anyone booked diving with Blue Island yet...I figured I needed to get on the mark and get this done......Thanks...

Keep trying....I just cancelled a CC excursion, and folks change times around.

Um, count us in with the Loopies, but hopefully only after the kids are asleep....It is hard to pass up the "drink of the day"....although we are not doing Lord Sheffields.....someone has to take care of the "real Barkley", so he does not have to waddle the plank!

It might be fun, and after all, the only way to see the reef if you do not scuba...I hope to be booking Blue Island soon.....

we dont plan on doing much drinking if any on lord sheffields (the concept of heat, sun and alcohol are not appealing)-i think, from my reading it is family geared. so i would'nt worry about it. in thinking about it-i know there has to have been drunks on board the disney cruises, but maybe because the adult areas are so separated from the family zones...i dont recall running into any.

what exactly do you need to know of/about california?

Although I talk a good line about maragaritas, I will probably only have a glass or 2 of rum punch. That just isn't my priority these days (not to mention that rum isn't my alcohol of choice)! I think the kids will have a ball & I thought I read somewhere that Captain Ron will even let the kids steer the ship for a bit :)

Just like barkley is wondering what you need to know about California, I too am wondering what it is you need about Oregon?

"Irony can be so ironic sometimes". I don't remember who said it(I think William Shatner in "Airplane") but is seems apropo. :teeth: I hope nobody gets self consious about drinking because of what I wrote. It's a vacation, drink to it! My friends and I don't drink too much now; but, I spent some fun times hanging around those that did. :cool1:

My thing is fressing. A word derived from the Yiddush term "fresser" meaning one who eats...a lot. My grandfather would always say after a big meal in a fine restaurant "let's go to McDonalds". It appears I have that gene. The only thing that keeps me from blowing up is that I am an avid walker, so on cruise only days, you will find me walking on deck or on a treadmill or eating something. I look forward to some real good food.

Any experienced DISers have a favorite?

I am lazy - if you all help out by cutting and pasting the favorites of your state, it makes it easier for me to add to the map....that's all, lazy!!!!

I for one will be only to happy to help teach little kids what not to turn into when they grow up..... :rotfl2: Look for me with the drink with the little umbella in it. :sunny: or perhaps the glass of wine

The shrimp are huge on sail-away day....average from thereafter. I think you can find the menus on line. These are from the 7 day Western but it will give you an idea.....

Yummy

you will be battleing my daughter for those shrimp! after our first dis cruise her grandma asked "how did you enjoy your cruise?" dd replies "grandma they had the biggest shrimp you ever saw, i ate shrimp and lobster and...". the highlight of every cruise for dd has been the food!!!! our servers learn very quickly not to waste their time handing her the kids menu :)

the chocolate souflee at palos is to die for! in fact i was thinking chocmarg and i would go up to the palo bar each night for a post dessert dessert :Pinkbounc

i will ask hubby to cut and paste the california stuff (are you cruising the boards and reading this?).

re. real barkley-i had a nightmare the other night wherein duck pirates overtook the lord sheffield cruise (kind of like muppets gone wild). i now have a deeper appreciation for his phobia :teeth:

C&D&F.....haven't you ever noticed that I have NEVER cut and pasted anything on this thread or anywhere else? That's because ( :guilty: embarassed to admit it) I DON'T KNOW HOW! :guilty:

I may be able to run a fancy ventilator on a sick intubated premie, but I don't know how to cut and paste. sorry.

.....and you would never know that my husband is the Network Manager for a college! Okay....now I am really embarassed.

Other things I have no idea how to do on these boards...
:guilty: make a cute little picture by my DIS name
:guilty: do a countdown timer
:guilty: sign fancy quotes to my posts at the bottom
:guilty: can hardly figure out how to PM a person and that was a huge challenge to even figure out what it stood for! :rotfl:
:guilty: post pictures
:guilty: create other links in my posts...like to get someone to a place on the net I am refering to.

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Now you are talking!! Let's see. 7 nights, $10 fee to eat a Palo. Do ya think I can justify $70 for souffle. Now did you have to hesitate??? You bet I can!

I'll have to do an extra hour a day of cardio, but it just might be worth it.

Note - Living Seas is presently closed but they have time before Nov. to get it up and running....We want to do the dive, so we want to hear all about it.....
Actually, the Living Seas will still be closed to the public. How ever they are still doing the scuba and snorkel tours while they are closed. DH, DB,DSIL and I are doing the snorkel package on Sunday the 20. I have done the dive before. It was one of the best dives I have ever done.

WELCOME LAKEWORTH DAD. Glad that you could join us.

But Choc marg if you split the souffle with Barkley, it would only be $35 each. :Pinkbounc
And Disnurse don't feel bad about not knowing how to do all those things on the thread. I just found out how to add all the trip/life info to mine and had to have help with the avatar (which I had to ask what that was too) and the trip meter. Haven't done the list of things on the trip/life info yet, but will when I have the time. I'm still earning my ears. :earsgirl: And as for all the abreviations, I always have to ask what they mean. :confused3
