First off, I was suppose to be leaving for Disney tomorrow morning - we were originally scheduled for 12/5-12/12 at AKL to celebrate my birthday. My BF accepted a new job in October, which meant rescheduling our trip, as the job site was going to have a "mandatory shut-down" for 2 weeks around Christmas. As of right now we should be leaving the 18th for our magical vacation at CR - exciting, right?! WRONG! The project isn't going quite as anticipated so now there may be no more "mandatory shut-down" at the job site. What does this mean to me and my postponed birthday trip??? Well, right now we're looking at yet another rescheduling of our vacation.
Guess this kind of thing is to be expected when you're in charge of a multi-million dollar construction project, right?!
I'm beyond frustrated as you can imagine...two weeks out and I get word that it may be moved again. I'm not exactly the happiest camper right now. I will know the fate of our magical trip tomorrow....part of me is hopeful that the countdown can continue as it is now, yet another part of me is hoping that it gets pushed back.
I see a handful of benefits of pushing it back to late January:
1.) MUCH lighter crowds = better time for us.
2.) As of right now, I don't have any vacation or personal time at work - but I will as of 1/1/10....vacation/personal time = money!
3.) I wouldn't have to take Christmas Day without pay!
4.) Total cost would be much less, especially since his company would be reimbursing us for the cost of the missed trip!
5.) We can upgrade to my very favorite resort - GF, with a theme park view!!!!!!
I'm so conflicted right now, because I am in desperate need of a vacation. We've had this trip planned since July, and now, there's all this uncertainty. I just don't know what to think. What a great birthday gift, wouldn't you say?!
Bottom line is that I'm super confused and kind of frustrated. I know deep down that whatever happens is for the best, but.......
