We've been going to LBI alot this year and sometimes the beach really STUNK. There were so many baby clams washing up on the shore and dying.
The jellies always seem to come around in August when the water is warmer.
One night we went down to the beach to see the full moon reflecting on the water and my nephew picked up a jellyfish and rubbed it - it started to glow! I never knew they did that!
I noticed the pic of the 22nd street beach. I go to 15th St. beach every Sunday. The jelly fish didn't really show up until mid August and they were in Longport last Friday, too.
I'm glad you had fun in OC. I've lived here most of my life and love it.
That jellyfish looks disgusting - the ones we saw were like another poster mentioned - they look like little clear silicone implants - LOL. I never thought of that before but that is what they look like.

Does anyone know of a great place for families to have breakfast around the boardwalk between 8th and 11th ?? walking from the boardwalk ??
Well, there is a good place on the boardwalk, I think it's called the Ocean Club and it's probably around 14th street?? It's in front of a hotel next to a pool.
The best breakfast place I know is at 20th and Asbury and it's called Uncle Bill's pancake house. They had at least 100 people waiting for breakfast last week the one morning at around 10 am. We went at around 7:45/8:00 am and there wasn't much of a crowd yet. I know that's not all that close to 11th, but it's not too far away and the breakfast is excellent.
