NJ/NY Beaches - Jellyfish Question?

I'm not really "up" on jellies...I just know to stay away from the red ones...I did learn that vinegar helps the stings...Thanks guys!

Yeah, I noticed alot too, especially at the end of the day. They were all washed up on the beach and looked like implants :lmao:

We've been going to LBI alot this year and sometimes the beach really STUNK. There were so many baby clams washing up on the shore and dying.

The jellies always seem to come around in August when the water is warmer.
One night we went down to the beach to see the full moon reflecting on the water and my nephew picked up a jellyfish and rubbed it - it started to glow! I never knew they did that! :)

We're coming down to OC in Sept for a few days, hope the jellies go away. I'm so excited,OC is one of my favorite places to go.

I noticed the pic of the 22nd street beach. I go to 15th St. beach every Sunday. The jelly fish didn't really show up until mid August and they were in Longport last Friday, too.

I'm glad you had fun in OC. I've lived here most of my life and love it.

Does anyone know of a great place for families to have breakfast around the boardwalk between 8th and 11th ?? walking from the boardwalk ??

There are lots of OCNJ lovers on this board!

That jellyfish looks disgusting - the ones we saw were like another poster mentioned - they look like little clear silicone implants - LOL. I never thought of that before but that is what they look like.

Well, there is a good place on the boardwalk, I think it's called the Ocean Club and it's probably around 14th street?? It's in front of a hotel next to a pool.

The best breakfast place I know is at 20th and Asbury and it's called Uncle Bill's pancake house. They had at least 100 people waiting for breakfast last week the one morning at around 10 am. We went at around 7:45/8:00 am and there wasn't much of a crowd yet. I know that's not all that close to 11th, but it's not too far away and the breakfast is excellent.
