Just want to balance some of that BCV negativity going around.....We normally stay at OKW (Love all that space) where we own most of our points. We have a small amount of points (56) at BCV, and decided to cap off our DCL cruise with a couple of nights there.

We arrived by 10:30 a.m. Saturday. They looked around, but had no rooms ready. The CM said she did have a nice room opening up on the 5th floor though, overlooking Epcot, so we took that one. We got the card to call to check when it was ready. We just changed into our swimsuits and enjoyed an hour in the quiet pool, then lunch at the Yacht Club Gallery (steak salads, which were awesome! They must get the meat from the Yachtsmen Steakhouse). We got into our room around 2 p.m.

The studio room, 559, was clean and in good shape. For all the nitpickers out there, there were some nicks on the coffee table, the patio ceiling could use some cleaning, and there was a spot on the granite countertop. Hardly vacation-ruining stuff. I did think the bed was a little hard for my tastes, and will be happy if my dues go for pillowtop beds.

Stormalong Bay was great (that's why we bought there), CMs were friendly. I even did laundry in the laundry room, which worked out great. I liked packing clean clothes.

The new MarketPlace is a terrific addition and a better use of space than what was in there before.

BCV, which in my view is probably the least well put together of the DVC properties, remains a very fun and beautiful place to stay. We had a blast.

if you stayed on the second floor in room 250 you would probably feel differently.. but I'm really glad to hear you had a nice room and a great time!

I think Jodifla was trying to balance out the negativity coming from you DCI!

No, because I just would have called and had the problems dealt with. I'm from Fla, so bugs don't scare me.....worn carpet doesn't either.

:thumbsup2 Thank you very much for the trip report! Very glad that you enjoyed your stay at BCV!

My grandson and I too had a very enjoyable stay at the BCV from May 14 to 17.

I noticed that the top of the TV armoire was dusty, but everything else was fine. We were on fifth floor, but no view of Epcot. Close to elevators--which were very fast by the way.

I liked the different paths we could take around the resort and enjoyed the Marketplace and coffee service there. It was easy and quick to slip out, get a refill on coffee or something quick for breakfast.

And I liked the little nooks and porches here and there to sit. I had toured BCV when I first bought and decided to go with Boardwalk instead, but after staying there, I decided that the grandkids will probably like this also as they get older, so I have decided to waitlist for an addon there in order to have the 11 month advantage--even if I only stay there every other year.

I appreciate the balance. I think it's good to hear both sides of a story.

Question: are you able to use Disney transportation to and from Port Canavaral?? Or do you need to use your own transport? Does it matter if you use DVC points for either the cruise or your hotel stay?

You can purchase the DCL transportation to and from BCV, but we chose to get a car, because we like being on our own timetable.

We paid cash for the cruise, but I think you can get the DCL transfers on points, too.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We had a great stay at BCV at the beginning of May as well. We love it there. Our room was in great shape other than a couple of outlet covers that had worked loose. I called maintenance and they would have come immediately but we were about to take showers and get ready for dinner so I asked them to come the next am which they did but no earlier than I requested. We have always had prompt attention to any problem.

I'm glad our dues are going toward new mattresses and sleepers as well. We had a great mattress a trip or two ago but this one was just OK. And although our son always gets a kick out of the sleeper, the one we had at OKW last fall did look more comfortable.

Has anyone heard if the couches will have a different color or fabric?
