Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Warmer weather has been welcome here. It is a blessing to not be cold. Dad wasn't up to coming yesterday . God willing, he feels strong enough to visit today or tomorrow. Happy Saturday, everyone. I will check back in later.

Good morning, back to the 90's again for the 3 days with no rain in sight until possibly Tuesday. I'm getting tired of watering twice a day.

I had such an exciting day yesterday. Did a load of laundry, stripped and remade the bed, washed the kitchen rugs and then did the floors, lol.
Made myself some potato salad and had that with a bacon ranch cheeseburger, and a fresh ear of corn.

Someone a couple of houses down had fireworks that sounded like cannons, it was unbelievably loud and annoying. I watched the city fireworks at the park from my front porch.

My friend in CO went to a bbq at a friends house. Her friends son drove to Wyoming to buy fireworks. She send me a video of one. It looked like a stick of dynamite. Something went wrong with it and the bottom blew out of it, and hit the back window of his car and broke it. That took the fun out of his fireworks.

Summer and her husband made it home by 9 pm on Thursday and she found out that instead of her having to drive him back on Tuesday, she has to do it tomorrow, on her birthday. At least he'll get paid for a full week of work this week.

Still no Tiger, so she's officially gone :(

Taking a quick trip down to the farmers market and then I don't know what I'm going to do.

Have a good Saturday all

Lynn So sorry about Tiger.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope your Dad is able to find out what is going on with his back. Glad you were able to get your issue resolved that way you wanted.

Good morning. It is 76 now with temps heading to 90. Today is Owen birthday. He is 7 today. He is having a party at a trampoline place with friends and his cousins. Ellie really enjoyed her Disney trip. They were delayed 3 hours going down to Orlando and only had a few hours in Studios Friday . They got alot done though. Yesterday they were at MK and got in early and onto Seven Dwarves ride. They said it was not crowded at all and sent pictures showing a lightly crowded park. They did everything they wanted. Jeff sent me a picture with Ellie in front of the castle with a Donald Duck shirt, minnie ears, and a big smile. They come home today. Yesterday we went to the Museum of Science and after lunch walked the Esplanade to a playground. It was Kenny, his kids, Jeff and his younger 3. We walked and walked! We saw the cleanup from the Pops concert and fireworks. The kids had a great time and I love being with them all.

Off to do a few things and then to a birthday party. Have a good Sunday.

Happy Birthday to Owen dear Snowysmom. I'm so glad the kids had Disney fun :) Thank you, my friend, so much. Dad, I sure am praying is feeling better. Yesterday, he was hoping to come today. I think I have shared before that parking around here is often problematic. This facility does have a small, narrow, parking lot. Meters are on the street and most require walking up a steep hill to get here! Dad is not hill-ready! Also, the sidewalks are not smooth and even. Today, Sunday, meters are free and usually on weekends their are spaces in the lot. We live a good 30 to 40 minutes away so no easy scouting for parking. I just, of course, want him to be safe.

My issue God worked out beautifully. My heart is full of joy and thanks. His will, will always be done and indeed all things work out for good.

Happy Sunday, friends. Love always to all of you, you know that. I will come back later.

Beautiful picture dear Bobbi of lovely you and Tom. Praise indeed extra to God. Remember, He is with you forever! All my love and prayers, too.

Dad, God willing, should be here shortly. What a blessing it will be to spend time together again after almost two weeks.

Good afternoon hug to all :)

Just realized that I typed this out at 8 am, and never hid post, lol

Welcome to another hot sunny day. We got to almost 95 yesterday, will hit 92 today and tomorrow, then temps dropping slightly with a chance of showers Tues and Wed and a larger chance on Thursday.

It was a stay in the house where it's cool day yesterday and it will be again today. Puttering around in the cool basement throwing more stuff away. I need to tackle the tool bench, there are way too many things on there that don't need to be.

It's Summer's birthday and she has to make that long drive up and back to bring him back to work.

I just tried the microwaving an ear of corn in the husk like I saw in FB and it worked. Surprised the heck out of me. Just squeezed it out and it came out of the husk with no silks on it!

Have a good Sunday

It's been a hectic up and down day here. My grandson was on his way to my house when a car made a left hand turn in front of him, failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Jay tried to avoid hitting him but the street he was on is a major north/south road. He swerved but couldn't avoid it as there was still traffic coming towards him, One car had to swerve to avoid both cars. Thankfully he wasn't injured. Can't say the same about his car though. My city doesn't send the police for an accident unless there is an injury or severe vehicular damage, and 911 is on strike, so he took pictures and went to the police district to make a report. Now to hope the insurance companies agree on fault. As I told him, he is more important than a car and the rest will fall into place.

I had my first meal on the deck, there was even a nice breeze blowing so it didn't feel like the low 90's. I grilled some steaks and grilled corn on the cob. I had husked it at the store but surprisingly it was really good. Even better the food was identifiable. We always joke that I am the WORST grill master. We identified food by shape. Long and black = hot dogs, round and black = hamburgers, and square and black = chicken. The steak was not black and medium well. I think I may be using the grill more often.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do Friday for our anniversary. Going out with my allergy is difficult. Last year we went to I-Hop. People laugh but it has sentimental reasons. When we got married I never got to eat, that and some nerves before the wedding and by the end of the night I was starving. We went to I-Hop with some of the bridal party in gowns and tuxes. I had chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. Last year we went to the same I-Hop and I had the same thing. I liked it but it doesn't seem special. We had a favorite restaurant we always went to, and I would love to say let's go there but I am so worried about cross contamination that I know he will say no, even though I know he would love to go there. He LOVES their French Onion Soup and the Veal Parmesan. I could try and recreate the Veal but it's not the same thing and I can't make French Onion Soup. The allergy is so hard to deal with because I loved the Veal and Scallops. Even in Disney I know they take care with allergies, but I get so frustrated with burgers and pasta all the time. I'm hoping my friend can deal with me the one day halfway through the trip, I don't even like being around me because I get cranky with the frustration. The issue comes down to they can say the food is OK but not all chefs understand that wiping out a pan you just made fish in is OK. It needs to be thoroughly scrubbed clean, or better never have been used for seafood. I waitressed so I know how a kitchen works.
Oh well I still have a few days to work this out, or we can just order a pizza lol.

Hope you all are having a great day.

Extra love dear Taz. Indeed Jay is what matters! Praise, praise God he is okay. You please take extra care.

Dear Lynn, happy birthday to Summer and love to you always.

It was such a blessing to see my dad! Tomorrow would have been exactly two weeks since he was able to visit. Our lunch meant so much to us both. I pray continuously that he takes care and heals. I know coming today was a lot for him but healing for us both :) God willing, he will be able to return by Tuesday.

It was also nice that C, my roommate, had two family members briefly visit her. Right now she is listening to praise music :)

I am looking forward to by God's grace starting tomorrow, a new week, with His angel and my friend S, moving even more forward to a full recovery. S has been a Godsend to me in this journey. I love her and know she also loves and wants the best for me. I am truly blessed.

Have a wonderful rest of the day dear Quackers with a big hug.

Enjoyed a really nice family reunion party at my aunt's house yesterday. Not as big as in some years, but manageable, and I got to talk to the people I really wanted to and get some great photos.

Love the whimsical Disney pic, Bobbi, and glad your Dad could visit, Mona!

I don't think I've ever tried cooking corn that way, but now I'm hungry.

Taz So sorry Jay was involved in an accident. As you say thankfully he is OK and the rest will fall into place. It is tough dealing with a food allergy. I hope you can go out for your anniversary even if it is IHOP. It is the sentiment that matters, not the food. Chris and I went to IHOP alot when dating so it is a sentimental place for me.

Lynn Thanks for the corn cooking idea. Next time I am going to try that. Happy birthday to Summer.

@flyindumbo127 So glad your Dad could visit you yesterday. And happy to here things are better where you are.

Good morning. It is 70 now with temps heading to around 86. Rain is in the forecast every day this week. Since I have to go into the office on Thursday I figured it would rain that day as it always does. Yesterday was Owen's birthday party. The trampoline park was almost empty which was nice for the kids. The noise wasn't too bad until we got to the party room and then my ears were ringing with all the yelling and screaming they were doing. Definitely not my thing to listen to any more. Ellie and her Mom are back from Disney. They got everything done that they wanted to do. The family goes next month so she gets an extra dose of Disney this year. Yesterday Charlotte asked me when we were going back to Disney together. She is so sweet. I told her after the trip she takes next month, the next trip in 2 years will be a family trip.

Off to work. I really don't look forward to starting another work week. But I am going to talk with my boss today in our meeting about cutting back to 30 hours a week in the Fall with cutting back to 25 once the 2 new people are up and running with their tasks. She already knows that is my goal and is on board with it. I don't think she wants to train yet another new person. In a year she has had to train 3 new people, and one resigned after 4 months.

Have a good day.

Big hug dear PollyannaMom and I am so glad your Dad is doing better! That sounds likea lovely time :) Thank you on my Dad.

I am not a constant noise fan either dear Snowysmom. That type of environment can also be a TMJ trigger for me. Thank you so much on everything.

Good to see you both dear Judique and dear Luckyrabbit.

Early Monday hugs to all. I will check back later.

Sunny Monday morning, 75 now heading for 92. They say a stray storm this afternoon. They said that for my friend in CO yesterday and they had a horrible storm with huge hail. They almost never get rain, but they've had quite a bit lately.

I tried calling Summer 3x yesterday morning, but her phone didn't ring and her voice mail didn't pick up. I finally tried again in the afternoon and instead of answering she sent a message that she'd call when they got to the drop off point. She never did call, but posted a pic last night that the kids all took her out for a birthday dinner at the chinese place, so at least I know she got home safely.

I was just outside watering the flowers, and noticed the only part of the lawn that needs mowing is the back, but it's wet from the dew so I'll have to wait a couple of hours for it to dry out. Calling for rain by the end of the week, so if I do it today, I might get away with it until next week.

Have a good day everyone
