Coronado Springs isn't that close to DTD, and there is certainly no boat from Coronado to get there (or anywhere for that matter). Perhaps you are thinking of Port Orleans?

If you're getting to SSR by bus (I.E. from a park), you can jump of at the Congress Parkway stop (which I believe is the first stop for busses entering SSR). You're only a short step from the bridge there. If you're taking a cab, and thus exiting at the lobby, a boat might be easier. I don't know how often the boats run though for SSR, so it might just be quicker to walk.

Lots of rumors out now that things have been compressed in terms of the time schedule for DHS work.

Phase 1 (toy story) is supposed to start next month. Star Wars wasn't supposed to start until about six months from completion of toy story. It looks like everything will be under construction at once now creating widespread construction in this park come holidays 2016. Walls everywhere as all three phases would be under construction at the same time. Toy story is still looking to open first.

I thought it was supposed to be to hype the movie? I expected it to be open earlier than December and certainly before the movie came out.

That is probably true. It will be interesting to see if Disneyland or DHS version opens first.

IIRC the boat service is every 40 mins until 4 PM when it switches to every 20.

I suppose that timeframe would help if you knew you'd get on the next boat going out. I think we made the 3rd boat that came.

So you expect phase 3 to be under construction within the next year? Do we even have an idea of what it will be?

Phase 3 will start last but yes at least demolition. Likely Pixar related.

The back lot areas affected are cleared out and ready to be demolished from what I understand, why it's taken so long I don't know. Gonna have to start going to LMA more to get some peeks back there. If your in the Star Wars going over Indy and into the parking lot camp just remember that they have to change the parking lot before they do that. The image that was show on the podcast swallows up handicap parking and that would have to be replaced before they constructed over it. For Star Wars over Streets of NY/Muppets camp they could do both expansions and the parking lot all at once but it is going to kill that park.

Actually the backlot still does have a lot of things there. Some things have been taken out but not everything. As of the August aerial photo update the outdoor props are still there. Star Wars is supposed to take out some parking but not a lot. Two parking garages are supposed to go in. I'd expect the parking garages to go one at a time like Disney springs.

Disney's normal MO would be to get it opened ASAP in advance of the movie to build hype for merch sales...

They're only slow getting expensive, longterm liability attractions built on movies after the fact.

OK - yes you definitely can take a taxi / car to Saratoga Springs (SSR). Have them drop you off at Congress Park and it is a short walk. I am not sure how much time it would really save you, but it could save you 30 minutes. The DTD buses drive by SSR, so you would basically have to take the same route as the bus. If you are coming from another resort, this isn't so easy, since busses don't run from resort to resort. But if you are coming from one of the parks, you can also get off at Congress Park.

Real Life example: Just last week (9/6) I needed to go to DTD from the Poly to pick up something, after which I was going to go back to the Poly and then we were going to go to Epcot. Well, it took the bus a solid hour to go to DTD from the Poly. (This was mostly due to traffic congestion near MK.) So by the time I was done down there, it was almost time for us to be at Epcot....so I called DW and told her to take the monorail and meet me at Epcot. I cut through to SSR (It's basically where the regular DTD Marketplace boat dock is, there's a bridge to SSR.) It was about a 5 minute walk, I got to the bus stop, and literally as I'm walking up an Epcot bus pulls up. I took less than 15 minutes to Epcot from DTD this way.

OK, folks, I've gotten lost is what will be closed and when...I have a trip booked for late April next year, so what exactly will be closed...Soarin'? BTMRR? Muppets? Streets of NY? I know the Animation building and One Man's Dream...but what else???? Closings are flying around too fast for me to keep up with here!

Budget. Disney like most corporations is controlled by its accountants. Nothing happens until funds are released. From what I understand Disney's fiscal year starts in October. So even though the budget is approved, they won't have their hands on the money until October.

well animation will be back open this December as Star Wars launch bay. I would say everything you mentioned is likely to be closed. You'll likely just miss the opening to frozen ride in Norway .
