I'm wondering about the Castaway Club party. Does it take place on the first day, and would it be at the same time as some other fun ship event? I wouldn't want to miss a show or something like that. And can Mel and Louise attend, since they aren't CC members?

Jesse and Louise are thrilled that the NYC public schools will be closed tomorrow because of Rosh Hoshanna. That's a 4-day weekend for them. No such luck for Chad, who goes to a Catholic grad school.

Brenda, I forgot to ask you where you're staying when you come to NYC. I think you said the Sheraton? If so, which one? I'm so looking forward to next Wednesday!

Alls I know is we need to link our ressies to guarantee being in the room together for our dining rotation. Our group was 13 last year and I know Grim and Dede have added 1 and I will be +1 if Mel comes he will be another one plus Brenda and Ryan are 2, that's 18. They can seat 20 at the most at one table. With Debbie's 3 plus your 7 that's another half a table...

mind you this is only the person count off the top of my head~

Tiggie, only plus one? Aren't Adrian and Cate coming????

Yes the Sheraton Towers at Times Square...so hoping we can just park your car there...and walk somewhere for dinner??? I am really looking forward to the whole trip!! Will be SOOO nice to meet you...and then its a good chance i'll be meeting Nan & Molly in November....(they may come to Carmel and crop)....and Debbie....you are driving right past my office on your way to Monterey Friday....just 2 miles 'south' of Watsonville right on hwy 1 is the driveway to our office...wave when you go by...or BETTER YET....stop in!!!! although if it's after 4ish...i will be gone.....but none the less have an awesome time in Monterey & San Simeon!!!!

I recall it being a couple days in, not sure exactly what day tho. I didn't miss any stage shows or dinner because of it either.

Had a minor kerfuffle here today - seems DH didn't look into buying new wedding rings for our VR despite asserting that he would! Aaaargh!!! Men, my man, anyone with a winkle!!!! So, thanks to the WWWonderWeb, I've hopefully sorted it with delivery of 2 wedding bands scheduled for next Thursday which is cutting it fine but...

Anyway booked my hair, nails and eyebrow appointments today - OMG it's all getting sooo real...

ok, here is the real story. Mom has breast cancer. It was found in both biopsied sites and they are each of a different kind of cancer, neither of them good. We are looking at surgery the week of 9/24. Between now and then she is having a CT (lung and pelvis) and MRI (both breasts) to rule out more sites. If they find nothing more, simple surgery, if there is more, then I'm not sure what if anything will be done. Sorry I've snuck this in here, but I'm not even up to arranging my post in importance order.

I haven't slept well for 3 nights and have had a migraine lingering for 5.

I also am a Snoopy Girl. Had my whole room decorated in it during the '70s. Still have my stuffed one and wanted to dig it out last night for a cry. Perhaps tonight I can go find him, I think he is in a box in the garage.

Sorry to be so sad here with so much fun around. Sometimes life just sucks.

Nan, I hope you don't have much business work to do, so that you aren't overwhelmed by work and mom's health issues. I spoke to Casey about your mom, and he said he'd offer up a Mass for her tomorrow morning at the convent where he says Mass for them everyday. I know you aren't Catholic, but prayers are prayers, and they're coming from the heart. Casey asked what her name is, and I didn't know. Please tell me so that he can pray for her by name.
How are the kids doing in school? Molly's in a new one now, I think? And Will still speaking Spanish in his school?
