Hi everyone!

I am a brand new member on the Dis boards, since my recent trip has re-ignited my love of all things Disney!

I took the trip of a lifetime in May 2014 with my boyfriend and his family (parents, sister, and brother-in-law). They are DVC member, so honestly I think we totally lucked out! Stayed in Bay Lake, got to do lots of other stuff I didn't get to do when I went with my own family as a kid and in college.

But the best part was a special date night in Epcot. We ate at the Chefs de France and got all dressed up, and at the end of the night, he proposed! :cheer2:

So of course, I was in Disney withdrawal after we got home (and since)! I recently found the Dis Unplugged podcast and started listening to it as well as a selection of other Disney related podcasts, which got me super excited to plan our honeymoon trip (tentatively set for October-ish 2015).

So I'll be hanging out, gathering tips, reading trip reports, and hopefully reporting on our planning as we start working on bookings! We are both in grad school - library science masters for me, physics education PhD for him, so the next Disney trip depends on what happens with jobs and graduation in May, but we're excited!

Nice to meet everyone, and I look forward to participating in the community!:wave2:

Welcome!

What a great proposal story! Did his family all know he was going to ask that night?

Yay for physics education, that's my field (but my PhD is not that specific).

So fun to be planning a wedding and a honeymoon! Have fun!

Welcome, and congratulations! Are you considering a Disney wedding or a Disneymoon?

I was THIS CLOSE to getting my masters in library science, but I changed my mind and got my masters in music instead. (I was torn between becoming a music librarian or a performer)

Welcome!

Yes, but mine had no idea! We are from different parts of the country, so he hadn't been able to talk to them beforehand. It was definitely a wonderful surprise!

His isn't either, technically, but I'm just glad that I can generally understand what he's researching and actually discuss it, unlike some other physics topics where I'd be totally lost!

We have decided to definitely do Disney for our "real" honeymoon, but it won't be directly after the wedding, which is going to be in the summer. We're hoping for an October trip to coincide with Food and Wine, but it will depend on jobs and all the other adult stuff that goes along with graduation!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :):):)
