***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

As of Oct. 31st, a credit card guarantee is required at all table service restaurants. If you made them prior to Oct 31st, it is possible the site just says that for all ADRs regardless of whether there actually is one or not.[/QUOTE
I don't see that on my ADR's. The only things that is upsetting is that I go solo and 3 out of my reservations I had to choose 2 people because it wouldn't show me any times for one. So if you didn't cancel in time I would be charged for 2 people with it not being my fault

There has been some concern that these are "ghost" FPs. That they show up on your itinerary, but are not really there. At 60 days out (a few days ago), I was able to get everything that we wanted. Some that I had picked prior to that using "fastpicks" didn't show up to edit. So, I made other pics. The "ghost" ones still show up - so it looks like we have more that 3. This is all confusing, but I would call someone in IT if you are concerned about their "reality" after your 60 days. Just wanted you to know! Hope it helps!!

I've seen the chatter on that as well. If they don't show up in the change FP screen then they are not real and won't be honored at the ride.

I would definitely recommend to do what you did, remake them when your window opens for the same time periods so you know they are real then.

I am trying to figure out this Fast Pass+ and getting confused! We are staying at Pop with free dining mid-February and have already customized our Magic Bands but that's all we have done. Now, my sister-in-law and her family have decided to come down with us, but they are staying at the Grand Floridian. Is there a chance we will have FP+ and they will not? It seems like that would be a nightmare if we want to tour the parks together!

Now that we are going with them, we plan to have sit-down dinners and are thinking of upgrading to a moderate to get the regular dining plan - would we more likely to have the same type of fast passes as them if we did that? Or is it all up in the air? Thanks for any help!

All resorts are already using magic bands. There is no inviting to test. That's just something Disney is doing to try to increase people's preplanning. Trying to make people feel special. LOL

We have one day passes left from years ago (stay 7 pay 4 days special). We always traded in old one day passes for APs when we got to Disney. If we do this will I still be able to make FP+ before we get to Disney? We are booked in a Disney resort if that makes a difference.

Only 1 day worth until you upgrade the passes.

The actual date for this was pushed back to Nov 19th but either way all of my reservations were made well before both of these dates. You are correct in the fact that once this went into affect the site just says that for all of the ADRs no matter when they were made.

I guess no one else is concerned that the cancellation time period says 48 hours instead of the night before. Might be a "glitch" but we will see.

I don't plan on missing any of my ADRs so probably won't be a problem for us, but if I do cancel and not within the cancellation period and I get charged, Disney will have a fight on their hands.

FYI as of yesterday it still wasn't implemented. The 19th update didn't seem to work. I made several ADR's yesterday no CC required.
:)

Thank you for posting this! I wanted to make a couple ADRs but I really don't want CC holds out there. I plan to show up to my ADR but still don't like having them setup like that since accidents happen.

Interesting...they still have it posted as needing a CC guarantee.

I made one last night and had to do it. But it was for Be Our Guest. :)

Unless of course FP+ pushes people to come earlier in the day and eliminates the point of RD, so instead you get to stand in a bunch of lines before you hop over and use your FP+ instead of just RDing, for a couple hours using some FP, riding with very short stand by, then hopping using more FPs ...

I think it's possible that you might be overestimating how many families would actually CHOOSE to do RD, as opposed to feel forced to do so, when given the option to book their FP+ earlier and be able to sleep in a bit, or enjoy breakfast. The combo of RD in park 1 + FP+ in another park is how to make FP+ work for the hardcore touring families that like it that way, but not everyone likes to tour in that manner and FP+ will even the playing field a little bit so more people can actually enjoy WDW instead of running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

My family in particular has actually avoided making the trip to WDW period because I knew we would be required to do the insane RD FP- strategy all day every day in order to even make an attempt to get spots on rides not already taken by other families who pull as many as they can as fast as they can. Since we would need to spend an enormous amount of money to even get to FL, much less enter the parks, not being able to actually ride rides without competing with others made it not worth it for us.

FWIW.... I haven't seen an example yet where someone was charged as long as part of the party showed up. If it makes you feel better, you can probably call and get your ADR adjusted down to 1.

There is a thread about this on the restaurant board but not many people are talking on it. I don't know about you, but I don't regularly read the restaurant boards so probably would not have noticed this except someone posted it on a FB group I am following.

Just trying to share so others know of the changes being made to MDE.

I don't have any problems with you posting about it here, I rarely go to the restaurant boards either! I just didn't know if you would get many responses here. Interesting, mine were made this summer so without a card hold.

Mine we made 5 1/2 months ago and there is definitely a hold. One area shows it and another doesn't.

that's the funny thing about this they do show up in a change Fast Pass screen.... I was able to change the times and the rides and everything...??

Made my Fp+ choices this am no problem but my so called ghost picks were there and alive and well and able to be changed without issues. I just cancelled em and made choices where I wanted. I noticed when doing online check in it had my Dh's card listed on my acct. but I was able to change it to mine without issue. Also I noticed all my ADR's show garenteed by CC which was news to me as I made them long before Nov. 19th. and have changed nothing. I wonder what card they are using mine or DH's. I plan on showing up but still makes me wonder.

Our trip is in 3 weeks and I made FP+ selections for 10 people this AM with no issues. The only attraction at any park that showed "standby" was Ariel's Grotto at MK. I think the idea of needing to make FP+ selections at midnight 60 days out is unnecessary (unlike ADRs).

Also, due to an issue I had on the MDE site where I couldn't add one family member online, I spoke to a rep and she confirmed that I would be able to get regular FPs in the park, in addition to my FP+ selections. This was in response to me (and her) talking about how crazy it is that Maelstrom is in the same tier as Test Track and Soarin' at Epcot, which means you can only select 1 of the 3 with a FP+ (similar to Toy Story and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at HS). Her suggestion was to just get a regular FP for the others.

Except of course if you are staying POP resort, which means FP- is no longer an option. In 3 weeks there might be a chance FP- is removed from other resorts too.

When I talked to a cast member about my reservation earlier in the week, he said FP+ couldn't be selected until 30 days out. I told him that I'd been hearing 60 and he said it's now 30. We are staying at Bay Lake February 1-8. We aren't at 60 days yet but we are close! So, what is the right answer? 30 or 60?

He was likely mistaken. It is still 60 (roughly - seems to vary a little duriring testing) days at this point.

I'm assuming you called and spoke to a CM. Unfortunately those CMs aren't familiar with much beyond the reservations systems and little about in-park operations, and FP+ falls under in-park operations (although I hope they'll get better trained on FP+ as things move forward).
