***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

Staying at POP over Christmas. DW and I have AP but DD has ParkHopper purchased via UT. Have tickets linked to MB. My question is since we have AP and other Hard Ticket, will we be able to use those hard tickets to pull FP-? Already have FP+ reservations on the MBs.

All reports right now are that APs and UT tickets can be used in the legacy FP machines---even those that are linked to MBs. As you know if you've been reading these threads that could change at any time and probably with little to no notice from Disney.

I got an email today from Disney saying that i could begin MMY. I've already chosen MB's and linked everything, but when I try to go into FP+, I get an error message? I'm 65 days out, so maybe it's too soon? Not sure why I'd get an email saying to do it though?

You should be able to select them at day 60. Good luck!

It may be the 60-day window, as Niewoe suggested. However, my trip is less than a month away and I've noticed that the website is very quirky, frequently giving me errors and "page does not exist" messages when I try to go through the FP+ link/process.

I finally used the app on my smartphone and had no issues at all. In fact, I found the app to be much simpler and faster to use than the website when it came to FP+ selection, changes, etc.

If the 60-day window isn't your issue, maybe the app will work for you too.

Right now every Disney resort (except Pop) is getting KTTW cards as well as Magicbands. This however could change at any time.

So, if on Dec. 1st (this is just hypothetical) the resorts stop giving out KTTW cards, then will the regular FP machines go away and then only those with MB will have to pre-select the FP+ ahead and load them?

(And what does KTTW stand for?)

The regular FP system will likely remain until ALL guests have access to FP+, which it seems they still aren't close to being able to handle.

KTTW stands for Key to the World. It's the standard card you get that has your dining credits, park tickets, and your hotel key.

I think eventually all the FP machines will go away, but since MB's are not yet available for people staying off site, I expect the machines will be around until at least the spring (just a guess though).

I'm not sure when additional resorts will stop issuing KTTW cards. But I expect it will be sooner, rather than later. Maybe by the new year???

But to answer your question, if all resorts stopped giving out KTTW cards on Dec. 1st. Traditional FP would still be available for the offsite guests.......I think. :rotfl:

For those that have used the FP+ online system:

Are you able to get all or most of the attractions you want?

Do you have to book FP+ strictly online thru MDE or are you able to call and make them?

At the 60 day window, what time of day can you start booking?

I'm just curious to see if and when this becomes as competitive as booking ADR's.
(We also have a trip booked for May and I'm wondering when to start the FP+ process.)

Thanks!

We have a May trip booked as well, and I know what you mean.

I would love to start collecting some data and watch how things change over the next couple months.

Early testers and low crowd testers have reported examples of being able to switch same day to whatever they want, which sounds awesome. Others have reported FPs being gone on headliners by early morning same day. I wonder how this will be changing as more and more people are put on FP+, and are limited to only FP+.

I am fairly certain that we are going to see the touted "flexibility" of the system (and its mentioned like 3 or 4 times on the FP+ info/FAQ page) will be disappearing...

I'm going to try the app! :thumbsup2 Thanks! :)

I'm not looking forward to when it's my turn to link tickets and book FP+, considering I ran into "page not found" error messages three times while just clicking through the steps to book a room only reservation today. :badpc:

At least, thanks to disboards, I'll know that error messages and "not eligible" messages are normal glitches that I'll probably be able to solve by clicking the back button.

1. We are going 12/22 to 1/2 and I had no problems getting everything we wanted, when we wanted. I even had to change 2 of our days a couple of days ago and I had no problems making the changes and getting the times I wanted. (Except for HS being tiered now so I couldn't keep TSM, RNR, & TT)

2. I have seen a few reports of people calling and making FP+ reservations, but I really think they want you to do it online or with an app.

3. I was able to book at exactly mid-night(EST) on my 60-day mark.

Oh goody. I get to be up at 6 Eastern to book my ADRs at 180 days. Now I find out I'll have to stay up until midnight to book my FP+ spots 60 days out.

Are we having fun yet? :cool2:

Come on now...You know you are going to be so excited at 11.5pm that night and will have a had time falling asleep that night before your am wakeup call because of that same excitement. What our trip allows you to get that excited 6 months out??? I for one, Love it!!!

Actually, no. I'll be ticked off that my sleep has been disrupted because they took a system that wasn't broken and tried to "fix" it. They took away great same-day "flexible on the fly" accessibility only to make me stay up late (when I will likely have to be up early to get my daughter off to school the next day).

I'm excited when I make my ADRs because they didn't have to take away great dining accessibility first, only to give me the ADR system. (We never visited Disney in the pre-ADR days).

And yes, I'm fully aware that I can wait and do it the next morning. That's just not a risk I'm willing to take. We will be doing the 7DMT on our next trip and as ticked as I will be to be up late, I'll be far more ticked to get closed out of FPs for that ride.

I think the old system is broken because it is made for people who rush to the park early in the day instead of for people who come later in the day or paid extra to switch parks midday so I'm happy that they're changing to FP+. I don't know if I'll wake up at midnight to get FP+ but probably will just take my chances the next morning. I'll have a better chance of getting what I need than switching parks midday and hoping there are still FP-s left.

Will you still be able to get FP at the parks mid January? Also, if you use FP+ and they still offer FP, can you use both? I've been away from the boards for a while, and just got my email saying I can reserve FP+. May not do it if we can still get FP in the park.

There is no way to know.

In general, unless you are staying at Pop Century right now, you can use BOTH systems without issue. POP guests right now are only getting MagicBands, or if they opt-out, RFID KTTW cards that do not work in the FP kiosks, so they are restricted to FP+ only.

But there is some speculation that they will be adding resorts with this restriction soon, with FP+ being the only system available to resort guests at some point. And eventually FP+ will be the only system available to anyone.

We don't know how soon, but it seems like they want it to be soon.
