And the mysterious items that we thought my be a bridge are dock sections...

It is a spectacular location. On a side note, i was told the GF villas are more then 50% sold out. Have a nice weekend and to those who are snowed in, be safe. :)

"if interested" :rotfl2:

I am SO freaking excited to see these pictures!!! We bought in at VGF and my husband, who had been hesitant to buy for years (seriously, 13 of them!) said as soon as this was announced "So we're doubling our points when we buy Poly, right?"

On a side note, i was told the GF villas are more then 50% sold out.

Extremely unlikely. As of the end of November, they had sold less than 700,000 of the roughly 2.5 million points available. And they've been averaging fewer than 80,000 points sold per month for the last 3 months.

At best, they're around 30% sold right now, and it will take over 21 months to sell the rest of the points unless sales take a turn for the better.

Take people over and tour the place (VGF)... that got us!

I am very interested to see the details of how the points are allocated for the Poly. The pictures are great. You likely are not on vacation as I'd not be able to take time from my "My Disney Experience Schedule" to take pictures like that... much appreciated!

I'd be interested to see the point chart for Poly!
Have you seen the 2015 one for Aulani? New category- hotel room, less points than a standard! NICE!

thanks for sharing the pictures! The poly is one resort we have actually used our points at to stay in their concierge bldg. It will be interesting to see it develope.

Aulani would be a great starting point for a new Poly. Though, I would say the Spirit of Aloha at Disney is better than the actual luau we went to in Hawaii.

Re: 50% sold out VGF--

DVC sales seem to go in phases, and when we bought they told us our phase was almost 80% sold out. I questioned our guide more and she explained. I don't remember her exact words but I think what it boils down to is that they release point inventory in chunks at a time which puts sales goals attainable. I'm no expert but it seems like this helps sales people psychologically with their own motivation and it also helps them sell by allowing them to use scarcity as a tool. Just speculation. But I also wouldn't be shocked if they were at %50 total or close. Would like to see the # of total points v declared but i wouldn't know where to start

Guides like to instill a sense of urgency and that is what a statement like 50% sold is meant to do - even one with an explanation like you received. It'll continue to stick in your mind that over 1/2 is already sold so if you want to buy you better do it soon. Or even better the buyer won't even attempt clarification and be certain they better buy soon.

Thanks to Wdrl we know that right off the start DVC declared 75.85% of VGF. And that thru the end of Nov they had sold 26.7% of it's total points which equates to around 674,000 and would mean a little over 35% of the declared points have been sold if my math is correct.

All recent resorts have sold much faster per many guides than in reality.

The sections appear to be loading ramps, see the hand rails. My guess is that they will be bringing larger boats on line for the Poly and GF.

Thank you for posting the pictures. The picture of the lounge chairs toward the castle is what has me most worried about the expansion. It looks like it will block one of the best free views of MK fireworks. People visit the Poly to watch the fireworks and castle from that beach. Oh well, I am sure points will sell well and that is all that matters to shareholders.

Unfortunately, the dvc is taking up some of the poly beach but you also gain the boardwalk, if it will be accessible. It appears the bungalows will butt up to the boardwalk so it may be controlled access. I don't know i looked at the image of the design submitted to the county...

I hate that they are ruining that beautiful view by putting these bungalows around that point and right up to the beach. But I would hope they control access to the bungalow boardwalk to only those people staying in the bungalows. I wouldn't want a crowd of people standing right outside my room door every night watching the fireworks. :crowded::eek:

i am officially announcing my hypocrisy--i said we'd never have reason to stay there since there are no one bedrooms---now that we'll be a family of 5 looks like we'll be checking out the 2brs after all :)
