New DVC Ticket Deal

Unfortunately, this deal does not help our family as we usually go to the world in August and these tickets have a "use by" date. Don't really understand that. Why can't they simply expire 14 days after the first use, like usual :confused3?

Say you have a couple who goes to Disney every year. If they didn't have an expiration date, they could buy 4 sets and use them for the next 4 years. Since it's a promo price, they don't want that to happen.

This offer proves Disney is listening and trying to find satisfying perks.
  • Posters are always asking for another ticket-type DVC discount, which this supplies
  • It's a discount on the lowest form of Disney ticket - the base MYW - which posters have asked and now received
  • It's a discounted ticket similar to what was included with the Club villas in the 90's that DVC owners who purchased in the 90's are constantly moaning, even tho they were told the perk would only be thru the 90's. It goes one better than the original perk in that the amount isn't limited to the villa size.
Kudo's to Disney for still trying.

But I don't think anyone asked for a ticket where you can only go to each park once. Why not just have a 4 day ticket?

I'll combine it with our non expiring ticket use for a great trip!

Yes, for someone just needing a few extra days, it works out great.

My DS has a ticket with three park days and about 6 water park days, so this would have been perfect for him also.

Only problem for him, he doesn't have a trip in the works and won't be going in the next 8 months.

We are going for 6 days and plan to renew our AP's, but my parents are joining us for 2 or 3 days so I think these tickets will work well for them. I already have other tickets for them but will save them for a future trip since this is a better deal.

Keishashadow:

If I'm reading your chat correctly, you asked if adult children are allowed to use the DVC ticket, but are not listed on your membership. The response was yes. Are these tickets for adult children living at your address? I don't see that mentioned in your chat. For example, my daughter is an adult living at home (college student). She qualifies for DVC tickets because she has the same address as me, but she is not on our membership. Whenever I purchased an AP for her, proof of address was required.

hmmm I didn't pose that exact scenario, just stated adult children & didn't specify 'where' they lived. Other than college students, would like to think the majority of adult children are out living on their own...but I've had them boomerang back for a bit over the years.:rolleyes1

If u want clarification, I'd either do a chat or call (then report back here;))

I also didn't have the nerve as to ask about upgrading to APs & bridging since I don't see that happening as it doesn't apply to current tix WDW sells. However, if somebody feels it's remotely possible, feel free to ask & report on your findings please:).

I did the online chat yesterday twice just to confirm ...
I asked if I could buy these and if my daughters friends from college (non house hold members and non DVC members) could use them over spring break and the answer was again YES !!!

If anyone has any luck bridging these tickets with DVC annual passes please report back. DH's pass exp on Oct. 5 and we are on the fence about renewing or letting it laps till November.

I'm not sure what you would bridge with. There is no regular 4 day ticket, one day in each park (no repeats). It's not a regular 4 day MYW base ticket.

Sorry I did not give more details ...
If I bought this ticket and then upgraded it to a DVC annual pass

DH and I are going in November. He has a 10 day non expiring ticket already added to our MDE and our FP's are all made.can I buy him one of these tickets and add it to our MDE without messing up the FP (I would like to use this ticket instead of the 10 day) TIA

Not being able to upgrade the ticket means I cannot add more days to it. Am I right? I don't care about parkhopper or water parks and I plan to visit each park at least once, but I need 6 days.

That is correct they are not extendable, either. Therefore a 6 day my way ticket is still a better value than the promo + 2 day ticket.

I'm curious about this too.

FYI, I bought 2day myw tickets and was planning to upgrade to 3 or 4 day tix for our oct trip. The CM I chatted with said we could upgrade the 2 day tix since they cost less (only a few dollars less) than the dvc 4day tix!!

One moment while we route your chat to a Disney Vacation Club Cast Member.

You are now chatting with Todd.

Todd: Welcome Home! How may I assist you today?

perla: Hello. i have a question about the $199 4 park ticket offer. It says that it can be used towards an upgrade to an annual passport. Is the DVC Annual pass eligible?

Todd: Yes, you would be upgrading it to the Disney Vacation Club Annual Pass.

perla: I wanted to purchase the $199 4 park ticket offer for my neice and nephew, are they eligible as well?

Todd: Please note that this can only done in person at Guest Relation at one of the 4 Theme Parks or Downtown Disney.

Todd: You can purchase it for them but thet would be upgrading to the regular Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass, not the Member discounted one.

perla: It says i can purchase up to 8 tickets. Can I buy them and gift them to my neice and nephew?

Todd: Yes, you can.

perla: oh ok, just my husband and i are eligible for the dvc annual pass?

Todd: Please note that you must purchase them by calling Member Services or in person. They can not be purchased online.

perla: got it. Thanks!

Todd: Yes, as you are a Member and he is an immediate family member living ion the same household.

perla: Thank you!

Todd: You're welcome!

Todd: Was I able to answer all of your questions today?

But what is the advantage of buying the 4 day to upgrade to AP? You pay the 199 and then pay 300 more to get the AP? You don't get credit for a "normal" 4 day ticket, do you?

You don't have to pony up the whole amount of ap while on vacation. It's like a down payment twds your ap, meanwhile you can make your 60 day fast pass reservation. (I think). Good for my extended family since they don't park hop.

But you can only make FP for 4 days, correct?

I mean if you are only taking a short trip, then upgrade to AP for more trips, that will work.

Yea you are right. This offer is good for my extended family, but for my husband and I, I think the best bet is the 6 myw with hopper options. But at least we have an answer that yes it can be upgraded to dvc ap.
