New DVC Ticket Deal

Tickets purchased direct from Disney no longer get bridging.

Third party tickets do. The Disney Store tickets and Disney Resorts (so CRO) packages count as third party.

So it's a question of, who is selling these, Disney Parks or DVC and does it count as a third party?

I don't know how I feel about this "deal" yet. Love going to the parks as I please so we always get a park hopper in case it's crowded, we want to eat at another park, etc so I just don't know if it would be worth it for us. But I do love saving money lol

If my kids, ages 16, 12 and 7 will be with my sister, a DVC member, will she be able to purchase the discounted tickets for them?

So I'd buy the 4 day non-hopper pass for $199, that's not quite $100 less than regular, I think. I'd need to use it one day. Then I'd go to Guest Services and convert it to a DVC AP which runs roughly $516? And they'd discount it as if I'd already paid $294 roughly? (sorry I don't have the exact ticket prices in front of me) So I've saved my $100 per pass at the onset?

And I'd be able to make my FP+ for the four days of the ticket that I purchased but have to take my chances on following days until I did the upgrade?

Thanks.

Most of us are thinking that you'll only be able to get the $199 value if you upgrade. Nothing confirmed yet though.

If there is no price bridging, why even say that AP upgrades are available?

It depends on how you define the terms "upgrade" and "switch." If someone buys the special $199 4-Park ticket and then decides they would rather have an Annual Pass, Disney will let then upgrade/switch from the former to the latter.

In my opinion, it makes no sense to let DVC members pay $199 for a special 4-Park ticket and then let them cash it in at the $294 value of a regular 4-day ticket. If that was allowed, then members would buy the 4-Park ticket for $199 and immediately upgrade/switch to an Annual Pass, effectively getting $95 off an Annual Pass.

I suspect the $199 4-Park ticket will be a considered a special, unique ticket media and will not be considered a discounted 4-Day MYW ticket. Remember, the DVC Annual Pass is not a discounted Annual Pass; it is its own type of AP that has its own value.

There are some Disney tickets that can't be upgraded to a different ticket. Upgrading doesn't actually mean bridging from a discounted ticket. It just means that you can exchange it towards a different ticket type. Rather, towards a more expensive ticket type. :)

It is interesting that they do not state specifically that the tickets can only be used by members of the DVC members household, though past practice and some of the wording would lead you to think that.

So I can buy the UT 4 day tickets (or whatever tickets give the best discount) and upgrade those to DVC APs for the bridged price?

SO how do you think this will work with FP+? Will it allow you to make FPs for any park over 4 days or will it give you an error if you try for 2 MK days?

I'm wondering because I would buy these and then upgrade to AP so this way I can spread the payments over time. Only if we can upgrade to DVC AP and not regular AP.

The way I am reading it is that you need to go to all 4 parks - 1 each day of the ticket so I would think it would error out but who really knows with Disney's awesome "IT" department!:rotfl2:

SO looking at the UT site the 3 day hopper with 4th day free is the best ticket right now to 'bridge'?

Adult (10+)

$349.75 $328.40 pre-tax

Child (3 - 9)

$330.80 $310.61 pre-tax

YOU SAVE
$26
vs Adult gate price

So I would get that $26 'off' the cost of a DVC AP if I use the ticket at least 1 time and then upgrade to DVC AP at the ticket booth?

This ticket is similar to one that is offered to Florida residents every winter into spring. They can all be used for the same park if you wish, but just 1 park everyday.

it doesn't look like that is the case here:

The ticket is valid for one-day one-park admission to each of the 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks per day (parks may not be repeated).

wow, missed that. That really diminishes the value of the ticket............Laura

Yes, whichever ticket has the most "savings" but still has a gate price lower than the DVC AP will be your best choice.

Yes, I would say of anyone, DVC people would tend more to park hop. Go to MK for a bit and go to Epcot for dinner. Or it's food and wine, I'd go to Epcot for three days and leave AK for another trip since I know I'd be back for sure.

A one day one park ticket seems like it would be for first timers to WDW. Those people would tend to go to all four parks in one trip. Or those who may take a trip every three or four yrs.
