I know - I need rates to stay affordable!!!!! I (and all the rest of you!) give those places sooo much PR it would be a bummer if we could not afford them ourselves!!!

Well, those valve cover breathers are up to $52 now! DH will be making $ but my auctions are still sluggish! And of course he won't donate his $ to Disney!

goofy4mickey48 I just booked 2 nights at the Dolphin for $139 per night gov't rate even though the Swan & Dolphin Website was showing no availability for July 17... What are the dates you are looking for? Try going through Dreams Unlimited Travel's website. Maybe you will have better luck?

ozzie, glad to hear your DH is getting better minute by minute! Such good news!

Mouseteacher, I posted a reply right after you posted (and before Muffy), but it's not there!! HMMMM! MYSTERIOUS HAPPENINGS! I finished installing DH's Christmas present... a MicroSoft wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse! SWEET! Of course, I am only using them for testing purposes!:smooth:

I too, hope your DS has something more minor than MONO! P&PD from the Disbugs, too!

I was lauding your fine example of reserving your room at the Swan/Dolphin and then cancelling later if needs be.... HINT HINT to the DisMeet Sorority Sisters out there!:wave2: :teeth:

 Hi,all

Thanks for your kind thoughts. The doctor called and DS's tests came back normal. No mono, no strep. He said he must have a "bug". I do know that a first mono test can come back false negative. We'll see how he does this week.

I, too, am getting worried that all our PR for the S/D is making it too popular and could leave us out in the cold - lacking good rates, that is!

I just received in the mail a 50% off coupon from Starwood. I haven't read all the rules yet but it does mean 50% off rack rate. And I don't know if it includes S/D. I need to read and research.

ozzie~ happy for you and DH.

Disbug~ you and I must be early risers and early DISers! :p

DD9 was supposed to leave yesterday afternoon with her Girl Scout Troop for a campout down in Orange Springs (about 2.5 hrs south of here), but had to postpone leaving until this morning. So we were up at 5:30 AM loading sleeping and duffel bag into car! I am having a nice cup of coffee in my giant yellow MICKEY HAPPY MUG, (Because my DH keeps absconding with my Sigma Mug!)

For those who have been asking, DD2 (who becomes DD3 today!) is on the mend and has resumed taking liquids from her bottle. We are working on "fattening her up" despite upcoming tests! Thank you to all who have expressed wonderful things to me in PM's and posts on the Boards. You are all very sweet to me!

LOOKING forward to seeing Todd English's Restaurant "BLUE ZOO" from the inside, instead of just peaking in from the outside!

I think that was 50% off the first night and the S/D will take it or maybe I have a different coupon...

Disbug ~ Happy 3rd. Birthday to your DD. I am happy to hear the good news and glad she is on the mend.

We will not be making it to the meet in July. Our DD Rachel cannot be out in the heat with her progressive hearing loss. Our hot theme park vacations are over for now. The doctor has told us the pressure in her ears from to much heat can cause her more loss. Poor little thing she takes all the news so well. We have a pool and she practically lives in it when she is outside in the summer here in Texas. I know you all will have fun and will enjoy reading all the trip reports. :D

Hi, thanks everybody, i did try dreams unlimited for June and they DO have the Gov. rate for 6/14-6/19! Now if I can convince my friends to spend the extra 40.00 per night over 99.00 at CSR., if it was just us, I'd jump on it now! I did check out their Dec.Gov rates, right now showing 219.00 per night- hopefully as time gets closer we can find an annual pass rate for a little less! But, I feel better, hope i did not upset anybody!! Mom Poppins- praying for your daughter and your family!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!!.........goof

Awwww....Mom P - I really wanted to see those cuties!!!

Happy Birthday to Little Disbug! 3 is such a wonderful age!

I'm going to have to swat DH - his auction is up to $78 and I got this kind of 'snide', 'Well, I suppose that $ will go to your Disney trip and I will never see it". I said - No - it will probably have to go towards your apartment rent when you get stationed somewhere else on your new job for 6 months. :teeth: :teeth: That quieted things down!

Happy Birthday to Disbug's little one! Glad to read she is doing much better.

goofy4mickey48~ Good for you on securing ressies. Now let's hope all works out. You'll really love the Dolphin. It is a different experience from staying a mod. I have stayed at POR and FQ and enjoyed my stays. However, to stay at a deluxe for a little more than the price of a mod is so worth it.

:chat: just bumping our thread up!

Is everyone busy??? I haven't seen us this quiet in long time! :earseek:

Don't know if this has been answered in this thread or not, but does the Swan transfer bags to Pop Century?

Thanks for your answer.

MOUSETEACHER,
I just noticed your question about the 50% off Award from Starwood. I have one also and inquired about using it on the lowest rates posted on the website - unfortunately they have to be used on the rack rate only, which is a minimum of about $350. I can get the gov't rate for $139 or $149, depending on the hotel, so it will not be of any use to me. I think the gov't rate is always less than 1/2 off of rack, but I will look into other properties to see if I could use it elsewhere. The coupon I have says "Valid for 50% off for one to five consecutive nights".
I could be staying at Pop Century for half the price, but I love the Swan so much I think it is well worth the extra money.

:wave2: Just coming out of lurk mode to ask the experts if Tubbi's has a microwave?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Good Morning, It is quite on the boards again today. We are trying to get the van ready to travel, oil changes, luggage rack, nintendo gamecube etc. All the PS's and hotel ressies are in place. Our home is a buzz talking about Disney :) DD Rachel drew me a sweet picture of WDW with Mickey and Minnie last night. DH wants to take a cruise next year out of Galveston, TX so we will not be going back until 2006. Wow ~ sounds like forever. It will be fun to try something different but.... I just hope the kiddos enjoy it as well. They have all been wanting to go on a cruise for the past few years. Do the rest of you have a hard time going anywhere else but WDW. We take smaller vacations during the year, but only one "big" trip annually.

Tinkohio ~ I really don't remember anything on a microwave. I am hoping others can pop in and help you with your question.

Waving to the room

TinkOhio~ I believe I saw a microwave near the condiments and utensil area but I am not completely sure - don't trust the ole, aging memory! :o

disneymom57~ yes, the coupon I received is the same. I usually book at the teacher rate or, last summer, I used the cash and points promotion. I am thinking of using the coupon locally for long weekend during the summer at a Sheraton or Westin where the rack rate would be lower than $350 --- hopefully.

MomPoppins~ I can feel the MP's family excitement all the way here in MA!!:hyper: Have a wonderful time and give Mickey a hug for me. Our eyes will be on Texas this Sunday - Houston to be specific and the SuperBowl -----------------> GO PATS!

Boy, we really are in a quiet mode --- I know Disbug is away but where is everyone else? :(

So a fellow Disney lover that I work with comes in today and tells me that she has just booked the Disney Cruise for late June. This in itself is funny since just the other day she first started "thinking" about it and then by today it is booked already (God, we all need help!)

Anyway, she then proceeds to tell me where she will be staying for the land portion - The Swan! Seems her husband is a teacher (how did I miss that the last 5 years??) and got a great rate. Soooooo I chime in, I have these friends........and proceeded to tell her how I have a direct line into the "experts" and to get the questions ready.

So sometime between now and June I will actually be posting serious questions that are on topic! Just thought you all should know that in advance so you wouldn't think I was feeling sick or anything......:p

PS She was the one who first told me about the Deb Wills site which led me here when I was researching the DVC which led me to the CB and the DIS Yearbook which got me drafted here by Disbug et al.... Talk about six degrees of separation! Does Kevin Bacon post on this board? I may be connected to him as well!

I feel like I have been away far too long - dh had pneumonia and was hospitalized for 5 days- sounds like a repeat of so many others here - but, we leave for Disney in a little over 2 weeks and back to the Dolphin. We love that place. Have been reading your tips about the new restaurant- we did the Market for breakfast in our Nov trip. So looking forward to relaxing this time!!!!!
Hope all are well, hope to be back sooner next time, I miss too much and too much reading to catch up on.

Mouseteacher- the grades are done for second term- thank heavens.
Have a great Tuesday everyone. Caroline :teacher:

I have my S/D mug ready to bring along - I love it!!
