Lou...LOL Don't doubt that Kevin Bacon lurks here. We saw him on NYE at MGM!(2 years ago, or was it 3?);)
Caroline....so sorry to hear about your DH. Hope he is recovered and ready to hit Disney. Have a great trip.:Pinkbounc
We had a snow day today, because of the ice storm we had yesterday and we are having another snow day tomorrow because of the snow and blowing. We could get an inch or two and school would be cancelled. Of course, we do have many children who live in the country and the roads are the most hazardous there, especially for school busses. I am enjoying every minute of it. ::yes:: But ask me in June, when we make it up. It is actually giving me time to work on National Boards. Such a rigorous task! :crazy2:
Muffy...love your pictures. I have always wanted to see the exec. suite. And the fountain picture is lovely. As is your dd. princess:
Have a great week everyone. :wave2:

Muffy ....great pics...

Caroling....glad to hear your DH is feeling better

Looks like I get an unexpected starwood stay tonight....I'm heading down to my Dad's tomorrow...he is having prostate surgery Thurs and Step mom isn't doing well....but the weather in PA and MD is very poor tonight/tomorrow...So, I've decided to drive to BWI tonight...that way I can drive slow and careful without the pressure of making my flight.....

Looked into hotels and I could stay at a Comfort inn for $90 per night or Sheraton for $149 plus I can leave my car...for the 5 days...So I decided to stay at the Sheraton....Long term parking cost $35 so the overall cost is very similar....

Have a great few days I'll check in after days surgery...

ZW~ I wish your DDad well and you take care and have a safe trip. The weather is nasty and it is heading to Boston but not as bad here.

Caroline~ nice hearing from you - our 2nd term has closed, too - report cards for grades 4-8 go out Friday. Our grades 1-3 are on a trimester system. I am happy to hear DH is on the mend. Raise your S/D mug in a toast to the sorority when you get there! Does posting "S/D" considered enough to be on topic? ;)

Muffy~ loved the pics - the exec suite sure has plenty of "floor" space!

Lou~ :teeth: as usual your posts bring a big grin. You brighten my day!

Ozziewags, you guys are a bunch of wimps!!! Move up to the great white north here!! We had about 6 inches yesterday and didn't even get a late start out of it!

Travel carefully, Mrs. Z!!!

Goodgrief Loubon, if we actually ever get this thread back on topic, I think the mods will have heart failure!!!!! At least Muffy kept us on the straight & narrow with those photos!

Caroline - that Florida sunshine should patch your DH just as good as new!!! Wish mine would go with us - he's anti-disney!

~Great Pictures! The heavenly beds are even on the SICO'S!! Nice to know. My exec has a few more appointments of furniture, but has the same "roomy" feel. I also have some nice LIVE plants in my suite, including a massive corner palm (which I LOVE). Makes it all the more "cozy-feeling", as I love plants. :sunny:

zurgswife~May God bless and watch over your DF while he undergoes surgery. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Be careful driving down tonight, and GodSpeed dear friend. :goodvibes:

lovingthemouse~You are never far away in my heart. :wave2:

ozziewags~Stay warm...and enjoy the FREE DAY! I miss the snow days. Out here...we have FOG delays (2 hours). We have had only one snow day, on January 25, 1999. :hyper: It was AWESOME.

MOM POPPINS~Hi, Robin! Have fun preparing for your journey, and enjoy all the special moments (like Rachel's drawing). We brought DD's gamecube last summer, and connected it to all the T.V.'s in the resorts for "family" play! She also has a mini-screen attached, but we prefer to Race (Mario-style) on the larger screen! (LOL). Double dash is a laugh a minute...using the new wireless birds should be even more fun this summer.

I know you will all enjoy a cruise, I just wish your DH would consider the Disney Cruise line. Your family would have the BEST time on either ship (Magic/Wonder), and with all the different specials available through DU travel, you could find the price-range you seek by traveling during an off-peak time. The kids would have the BEST time aboard these ships, and you could then add a few days at WDW too. Just consider it...in the least. To answer your question...you know me. I could not go a year without a DISNEY-FIX of some kind. We too...take several small trips throughout the year, and then one BIG one in the summer.
The two cruises we enjoyed last summer, and the one previous...cemented us into the DCL family. The only other cruise we are considering, is the QM2, (to London). Todd English has a restaurant aboard this vessel as well! We are contemplating travel on this ship in 2005, and including it with a month in Europe (PARIS & JAPAN DISNEY TRIPS INCLUDED), and another 5 weeks in WDW. I'll keep you apprised of our plans. Take care, and have fun gathering your things/thoughts for your 2004 trip into the MAGIC!! ;)

KittyKitty~Yes, they do. Please be sure to contact the BELL CAPTAIN upon your arrival to the Swan.

TinkOhio~Mouseteacher is correct, as there "was" previously a microwave near this area. But, due to health concerns, they have since removed it. :( They are also reluctant to "warm/heat" any food item for a guest, due to health codes. If they were to oblige, and then you fell ill...they would be responsible. So, the best thing to do? Either BRING a microwave, (if you are driving), or buy a small one when you arrive (@ Target/walmart--if you are staying long enough). We always buy a microwave, and then either donate it to a staff member of the resort, or a local agency (Goodwill, etc).

LOU~I'm eagerly looking forward to your productive posts and queries! I'm open to any CRUISE questions as well, and would be more than willing to assist you in extending my humble expertise and assistance. So nice to know you surround yourself with fellow DISNEY-LOVERS...even when away from these boards/thread!:teeth:

jgates~We have a friend currently going through the LAPD academy, and he is "sharing" an apt./rent with three other rookies (also in his academy). This is a fabulous way for your DH to cut his costs while he's away for 6 mos., and also offers support while they are going through the rigors and demands of the academy. Has he thought/talked of this option? Just wished to share this idea with you. Hope his auction went well...and the $$$ is tossed into the general "Family funds" (Disney) as it should be!! (LOL).

TTFN...enjoy the week!

I'm here ! I don't know where everyone else is lately... Thanks for all the advice about a cruise. My DH does not want to make the long haul back to Florida every year, so unless Disney cruise comes to a port closer by, its out for us for now. We have decided to go to WDW every other year because of the long drive. Hopefully we can still find something fun to do on our off year :)

I am excited to see my counter at 29 days to go :) The Dolphin is still sold-out for March 9th. I called and platinum cannot get a room gurantee at a SPG resort. I will have to check on an extended day at check-in at the Dolphin, it never hurts to ask... ::yes::

Waving to the room :wave2:

*waving over a snow bank* YEAH! SNOW DAY! Yesterday we were in school, but it was very iffy.... today.. NO SCHOOL! *for my local district and where I teach!* I have either been at a rink, or spending too much time trying to drive home!

I am catching up on everyone's lives; sounds like everyone has good news! YEAH! I aan feel MomPoppin's excitement over her impending trip! I want to go back!

We were at a hockey tournament in N. Michigan this last weekend. What can I say but our boys RULE the ICE! They took another first place! This is quite a team this year. I hope the boys remember this forever since winning like this doesn't come every year!

Our report cards were due the day before I left on my trip, and conferences were my first day back. I managed to sneak a few extra conferences in yesterday when I had parents try to pick up their children early due to weather. We have decided as a staff that IGPro seems to be possessed. We have changed grades, missing comments, missing CLASSES! If your staff is thinking about using this program.... run like the wind and just say NO!

On topic... the Swan and Dolphin are in Florida which is much warmer, even on a cold day, than most of the country! There isn't any snow there, but you don't need snow days when on vacation! LOL

Have a great day everyone!
Debbie

Hi everybody.
I am here in COLD Illinois sitting under my heated blanket trying to stay warm...
Counting the days till our trip. Getting more excited every day.
Can't wait to drink out of my S/D mug. Hope we can get a balcony room.....

I am also enjoying my new tag! THanks Tag Fairy!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

DF~ :scratchin :cool1: gotchyaIllkeepitasecretandIhavenodoubtsthePatswillwin.

crz4mm2~ Love your tag!

HM~ the storm sorta fizzled here in Boston. No snow this morning so school was in session - to the disappointment of DS. The snow did fall around 11:00 and throughout the afternoon but only amounted to a couple of inches. Now, the forecast says the bitter cold is returning! ugh! Bitter cold for this long period of time is so unusual for Boston. Report cards are going home Friday at my school.

:wave2: Hi, madge and MP and jgates. Hey, jgates, we need to work on your DH and brainwas....er... I mean convert him to a Disneyphile! We need to help you accomplish this.

Have a great evening, all!:earsgirl:

I know mouseteacher!! But I'm afraid it is hopeless. I have tried bargaining, begging and pleading but to no avail. I think his biggest thing is he doesn't like 'monopolies'. I think he thinks of Dis in that class. Example: no diamonds because they basically are self-regulated and controlled and even if someone develops something artificial, they are bought out and it is destroyed or never sold. You get the idea. I have even 'spoken' to him while he is sleeping to attempt to plant messages in his brain while he is sleeping!!! Didn't work!

Last time we went, he said we should enjoy our trip and don't bother him while we were gone. So we didn't!:p :p Finally after about day 8 my cell phone rang - I think he was flabbergasted that we actually did NOT call him and was starting to wonder!!!

Low of 15 below tonite - I can hardly wait.

DF- We are just crossing our fingers and toes that he will get stationed locally. We know of 2 other fellows that took their physicals the same day - but don't know if they passed. He'll find out at training next week. Then after week 4 when they find out where they are going, hopefully we can make arrangements. They DO actually give preference to the older people who already have a 'stable' lifestyle vs. younger who are can pick up and move easier.

Hi everybody....Dads surgery has been completed and he is in recovery...that's a big relief.

The storm on Tues pm on the east coast was awful to drive in...take it from me....it took 4.5hrs to go from Philly to Baltimore...usually a 2(at the most) trip....but I made my flight by traveling the night before....and got some bonus starwood points...:teeth: :teeth:

Glad to hear everybody is doing well...

I've been filling out entires for a DCL cruise contest...then maybe I could get a disney vacation before my planned Dec trip...I'm up to 1000 entries and I'm here in NC for another 3.5 days...think of all the entries i'll get finished before I get home....Nothing ventured nothing gained....wish me luck..

:hyper: that's great news, Mrs. Z - hope your dad is on the road to a speedy recovery! ***********************************************for you for the winning ticket for the DCL!

:Pinkbounc cautiously jumping for joy ------> I just booked the Dolphin for 4 nights beginning July 16 at the teacher rate (sorority meet). However, I still have to take a wait and see. But, if the trip is a go, I have my ressie at the teacher rate. :sunny:

... to my first stay at the Dolphin!! :hyper:

Waving to the room. :wave2:

Received my first 1000 Starwood points at the Dallas Sheraton Suites this weekend. And experienced the Heavenly Bed- it's true it is fantastic. ::yes::

Its Superbowl madness here in Houston. Haven't seen any stars although since I am near the hotel the Patriots are in there are a gazillion different types of limos around, including a very interesting Hummer limo.

Mouseteacher, jumping for joy with you! I hope it all works out! I am still in planning mode....

Zurgswife, Sending PD and P's to your dad for a quick recovery!

Forecast says 18 below tonite......Again, I can hardly wait. The extreme cold air is wreaking havoc on my sinuses. I can barely focus my eyes.

Received a S/D Recipe Club postcard today but rate was only valid 4/7 to 4/14 I believe. Recipe looked a little beyond my culinary skills too.

Mrs. Z - is this contest online? I need to get back into that again. I have been loafing off at doing entries........
