New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

1. New Character Takes Center Stage in The Grand Hall

The striking Grand Hall will be inspired by the rich lore, distinctive iconography and vibrant palette of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” films. This space will be the first thing you see as you step aboard the Disney Destiny, welcoming you to a world of epic dualities: heroes and villains, and adventure and relaxation.
The Walt Disney Imagineering design team consulted with the costume team from the “Black Panther” movies, and those insights helped fashion the creative vision for this space, including metalwork on the pilars inspired by the banded armor and stacked jewelry found in Wakanda. A breathtaking light fixture inspired by Vibranium — the rare metallic ore found in the fictional nation — will generate show-stopping effects that fill the room with life and color.
Presiding over the Grand Hall will be a stunning statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther: King of Wakanda, devoted son and beloved brother sworn to protect his kingdom — and the Disney Destiny.

2. The Sanctum

The Sanctum will be Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange.” Like all Sanctums, this centrally located venue will contain mystical items designed to aid sorcerers in protecting the world – but it will also be home to entertainment; a magical array or cocktails, spirits and coffees; and unique surprises from Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum, including a circular mirror behind the bar that evokes the building’s iconic window.

3. Spider-Man Stern Character

For the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a Marvel Super Hero will be the signature stern character on the Disney Destiny. This signature larger-than-life sculpture will showcase Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots, who are making a well-meant, if a bit haphazard, attempt at decorating the filigree on the back of the ship with their infamous spider webs.
The Destiny Tower Suite will honor the mighty legacy of Iron Man

4. Destiny Tower Suite (Tony Stark would approve!)

The Destiny Tower Suite will be a Marvel-inspired penthouse honoring Iron Man’s mighty legacy with a luxurious take on the sleek, industrial designs of Tony Stark. Armor-like materials and mechanical elements will be balanced by soft, inviting finishes to create an opulent experience exclusive to the Disney Destiny.
Set high in the ship’s forward funnel, this one-of-a-kind suite will offer incredible views of the top deck and beyond through an expansive two-story window. With nearly 2,000 square feet of living space, the Destiny Tower Suite will comfortably sleep eight guests and feature designated areas for eating, sleeping and playing, as well as other perks like a full kitchen and private ensuite elevator.

5. Saga

Just off the Grand Hall on decks four and five, you will be able to write your own vacation legend at Saga, a central hub for daytime family activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. The two-story, state-of-the-art venue will host a variety of interactive shows and events in an elevated environment that also takes cues from the architecture of Wakanda.
And because we couldn’t share just five …

Bonus! Worlds of Marvel and Marvel Super Hero Academy

The Disney Destiny will also feature two guest-favorite experiences from the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, inspired by the stories and characters of the Marvel Universe.
Worlds of Marvel, Disney Cruise Line’s Marvel-themed dining experience, with characters from “Guardians of the Galaxy” films on the Disney Destiny

Worlds of Marvel, Disney Cruise Line’s Marvel-themed dining experience, will host you for an out-of-this-world celebration starring the lively duo of Rocket and Groot from the blockbuster Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. During a tribute to the many Super Heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who keep the world safe, Groot will take over the proceedings and bring the festivities to the next level like only he can, organizing the ultimate surprise party for his friend Rocket — just in time for your dessert!
Disney’s Oceaneer Club onboard the Disney Destiny - Marvel Super Hero Academy

In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, kids ages 3 to 10 will become the heroes of their own epic Disney adventures at Marvel Super Hero Academy, a high-tech Avengers headquarters where young “recruits” are trained to be the next generation of Super Heroes alongside some of their favorite Avengers.

So tell me, True Believers, which of these incredible new spaces are you most excited about as you begin planning your own legendary vacation aboard the Disney Destiny? Bookings for Castaway Club Members open Sept. 6, 2024, and the inaugural season goes on sale to the general public Sept. 12, 2024!

Epic Entertainment Bringing Disney Lore to Life

On every Disney Cruise Line ship, each deck is brimming with entertainment, and the Disney Destiny will be no different. On this ship, you and your family can:
“Frozen, A Musical Spectacular,” a Disney Cruise Line production on Disney Destiny
“Disney Seas the Adventure, an original musical spectacular that features beloved characters from Disney and Pixar stories alongside rousing renditions of iconic Disney songs, on board Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Destiny

  • Catch dazzling Broadway-style productions of “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” in the Walt Disney Theatre. The former is a whimsical retelling of the iconic Disney Animation film, while the latter is an original Disney Cruise Line show featuring Captain Minnie Mouse, Goofy and a host of beloved Disney and Pixar characters.

Is it August 1st or April 1st?

The first 2 days of announcements had me so excited, but day 3 was a huge disappointment. I like Marvel and with a theme like heros and villans I knew they would tap into that IP, but I would have prefered a Disney animated hero for the stern and maybe a villan for the grand hall. I also think the Black Panther inspired Grand hall looks too minimalist and modern. I want gradure in a grand hall. Those renderings look very underwhelming, like being announced into a bank lobby.

I think I need more of a layout. Is DeVil's Lounge where Nightingale's is on the Wish? Because moving from Wakanda to Dalmatians is going to be a weird transition

I’m very happy for all the Marvel fans, and kudos to Disney for surprising all of us with the direction. Someone had mentioned how Marvel-ous the reveal patches were and this totally explains it! 😆

The Marvel stuff (while I enjoy it) does not do it for me. All the Disney animated iconic heroes and villains they could have gone with for the Atrium... I was really thinking Hercules & Hades for the grand hall with olympus vibes but nope. Its a LOT of Marvel IMO especially considering the some what lack luster response to the more recent films (minus Deadpool of course).

Also did I miss what the 3rd show will be or do we think that announcement will come later like Moana for the Treasure?

Spider-Man is DH's favorite super hero so he'll be thrilled. I wasn't sure how to feel about the Wakanda atrium but I think I'm liking the African inspired motifs. Otherwise, it's fine. However, I do know all my nephews would choose this ship over the others in a heartbeat.

Ugh I don’t like this at all. The staircase and background look yuck to me. I was hoping for Hades as a the main character instead. And don’t like Spider-Man on the back. Also was hoping for a Hercules show instead of frozen. I was all ready to sail and now not so sure

Spider-man on the stern? Awesome. I love the idea of the Dr Strange bar.

I’m not a fan of having Frozen on the ship, that will be ship #3 with Frozen, and I don’t think the Black Panther atrium is going to age well.

Definitely hoping for more Herc overall. I hope the last show is going to be Hercules the Muse-I-cal.

The DCL website has a coming soon spot under the entertainment section, it seems possible they will announce another show, Maybe Rogers the Musical. :-)

Totally agree with everything you said. I also worry about the Black Panther atrium ageing fast--the movies have been very popular but I'm not sure they're timeless classics like the animated canon.
