No, this is so wrong. It sounds like they had their email hacked. The possibilities of scammers are endless.
The only way I'd ever believe the site was hacked was if there were wide spread reports. The DIS is just one outlet. We would see it on fb, reddit, heck even tiktok. And I'm sure we would see other reports from some of our favorite bloggers like kennythepirate, disneyfood etc. And no doubt we would hear about it on national news media.

So far none of the above has never happened. There has never been wide spread thievery (that's a word right? looks right), anyway. No.
Regardless of your feeling on this, I don't appreciate you posting a laughing smiley on my earlier post after I posted clarification. I never claimed there was widespread hacking on the Disney gift card website. It was you who took the discussion there.

We are both in agreement (or whoever it was from the DealVengers that PM'ed me) that it's not a good idea to leave your gift cards loaded on the Disney gift card website.
Beyond that, I refuse to continue this argument and derail this thread any further. I added clarification to my post, so I will not bow to pressure remove it as was initially requested.

I know this has already been answered but just take a moment and allow this to sink in.... put the amount of the card on my Disney account on my app...

:hippie:Wouldn't that just be wonderful if we could?

I don't get why this is not a thing! Why Disney, why????
I have thought of this too, it is annoying to have to enter the gc at every purchase. They know this and don't allow it, who knows why, maybe they want us to forget about the gc and spend more 🤣🤣

Speaking of popcorn...I seem to remember that I can take and use the old popcorn bucket, that I purchased on the last trip, to get a refills at a lower cost? Any idea what the current cost is to get that refill?

Hmm, I'm not sure about free or discounted refills at Disneylandparks, but unfortunately this is not allowed at WDW.

Here's a direct link from: Plan Disney (a Disney website).

To answer your question, the refillable popcorn buckets you purchase at Walt Disney World can only be refilled during the length of your current visit. Unfortunately, you can't bring them back on a future trip for refills.

Really? Wow I always thought they were "good forever"...learn something new every day. I no longer eat popcorn and I've never purchased a popcorn bucket so it doesn't affect me in the slightest but still an interesting thing to know.

While "officially" they are supposed to be only for the length of your trip, you can bring older popcorn buckets to WDW and they will be refilled... at least I have never heard of anyome being reufused.

We are local and use old popcorn buckets all the time. We use them on the cruises too. We have never had an issue.

Speaking of scammers...

2 men arrested in massive gift card scam targeting metro Detroit Meijer stores

It's alleged the two Chinese nationals conducted a large-scale fraud scheme that involved stealing empty, unsold gift cards from stores and getting their information before returning the gift cards back to be purchased by others. Mar 17, 2025

Disney Gift Card Hackers Reportedly Steal Hundreds From Unsuspecting Fans (Costco)

A thief only needs the order number and email address used to order to go to Costco’s website and lookup the gift card numbers. The thief then uses Disney’s online gift card website to transfer the balance to one of the two $250 gift cards and then transfer the entire $500 to another GC of their own. December 27, 2023

Fraud isn't new, frustrating as heck absolutely. Glad the nationals were caught! As for DGC, as long as you can provide proof of purchase to Disney, which is REQUIRED, you should get your money back.

For more information on how to protect your DGC, go to:

I get ya! Been there done that & then some. Officially it's not allowed. If you get turned down, then you know.

I've never stood in line and heard anyone argue with a CM about it but I'm sure it's happened. Cringe moment! :scared:

I would think it's hard for CM's to keep track of all the different buckets & pails too.

What about the BestBuy Plus for $49.99?
With your purchases do you have enough certificate rewards to apply towards a membership.
I received a $10 reward certificate from BB a couple of weeks ago. I have no idea why. DH and I have not ordered anything from them except for this recent DGC. I tried to use it to purchase the gift card. No go! I do not know what to do with it before it expires. We don't need anything, and the closest BB is in another town. I didn't even know that we were still paying for a membership. We purchased it for a new very large flat TV a few years ago. Thought I had stopped the membership last renewal.

I remembered that the bucket was actually purchased two trips ago and I used it a second time two years ago. I could have sworn that when purchased it said something like "lifetime usage." Oh well. I'd rather purchase a new bucket than be embarrassed by a turndown. So how much are the buckets and refills these days?

Thanks for the reminded to print out my proof of purchase for the ecard. Also, I listened to the warning and did not sign into the Disney gift card website with my email and password. I did not have to sign-in at all. I only checked to make sure that money had been loaded onto the card that I had purchased. The money is there.

So my Chase freedom has 10% off up to five dollars for Dollar General so y’all have used this offer to get gift cards? I do see that it’s not listed under exclusions so I can run in and grab a $50 gift card

Has anyone checked their Cash App Boosts lately?
Been lurking around here, so first post ever!!

My Cash App routinely has 10% CVS offers (up to $10 off), so I use this from time to time to get $100 DGCs for $90.

Just checked today and have a new one for 5% off for up to $20. Might stop by sometime this weekend and get like another $100 DGC or something. I just came back from a WDW trip, so not in a rush to hoard gift cards lol.

I just used one earlier this month to grab a $50 DGC and got the $5 statement credit 3 days later. Just make sure you have the offer saved and active on your card.

Got another Dollar General offer today but it's only for 5% off, not as much as the 10% from earlier this month 😔

I wish costco still offered Disney Gc, haven't seen that in a while 😔

I use my rewards to get printer ink cartridges. They are slightly more expensive at BB to start with, but it comes out cheaper with my certificate and I can get actual HP ink instead of an off-brand.

I always use my BB credit card when purchasing my Disney gift cards so I figure that I'm getting an additional 5% off in rewards certificates. I don't have another credit card that gives me 5% at BB so I'll take what I can get.
