New Contemp Rooms Look Great!

the new poly rooms look a lot better than the old ones (hopefully we'll get a new one for our wedding in Sept).
its nice to see the two original WDW hotels getting the attention that they deserve. there is sooo much history there. plus for a monorail resort, they didn't look worth the extra money.

I Love, Love, Love, AKL and currently stay ther every chance I get....

However I did stay at the Poly as a young mom and loved the trip. Every time I go to book I chicken out because the rooms look so dated to me. New Poly rooms means I will finally go back and stay again!

The CR I have been dieing to stay there since I was about 12. But, can not stand the decor. Alot of people think the Grand floridian is the Flagship hotel. but not for me. for me it has always been the CR!!!!

It looks like My break from Disney and stay at Universal ( GASP) will be replaced by a split stay at CR and the poly!!!!

Wow! I saw pics too on Tikiman's site (before it closed) of what the rooms will look like at the Poly and they are somewhat similar to the CR - with the flat screen tv and all. Very very nice! We just got back from the CR and I thought the room was well cared for and comfortable (for those that have trips planned before the rennovations). But wow - I can't wait to stay in one of these rooms!

I think they look hideous! I don't know if I'll be able so stay at my beloved Contemporary again. Too dark and masculine for my tastes, not to mention, where is the color??

Love the white bedding!!! Now it looks "contemporary".

I wanted to stay at the CR due to the location but the style of the rooms (IMHO) were just not for me but now they looks great...I guess the price will go up & discounts & rooms in general will be harder to come by.

Like the Poly rooms too!

While the rooms dont look hideous, I predict they will age as quickly as the old design did (and the one before, and the one before that...). Remember: if a hotel is called "Contemporary," it must reflect changing styles - as well as keep up with them.

These Rooms look EXACTLY like the rooms at "thehotel" at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

So much in fact I bet its a safe bet to say they were designed (Or ripped off) by the same people who designed "Thehotel"

HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN THERE ? I LOVED IT AND NOW THE CR IS ON MY SHORT LIST OF "TO DO" RESORTS

Wow! I never thought I would want to stay there, the old rooms looked awful from the pictures. This looks really nice! My boss stayed at the Millenium in NYC that had a 42" plasma TV on the wall, about $400 per night. He lucked out that it was the only hotel available and corporate travel approved it.

So maybe this is answered somewhere in this thread but my fiance and I are staying at the CR for our Disneymoon in October of '05. is there ANY chance that enough tower rooms will be done by then that we will get one of these rooms?

Have to say it, I don't like the rooms at all....well, it's a beautiful room for a contemporary hotel...but it doesn't say "Disney" at all to me. My kids would be entirely disappointed in it (they're all under 10) and I have to admit I don't find it "fun" at all...The Poly redo rooms while classic still have a bit of fun theming to it..the old CR rooms were tooo colorful and loud...and now they've subdued it to the extreme that I wouldn't choose it now either. So, I think for all those young newlyweds or families with older children...or retired folks..you'll LOVE the new CR....probably not alot of young kiddoes hanging around in the newly styled CR...atleast not mine...unless under the covers there are lots of hidden mickeys in bright colors...my kids would find it BORING..

But excited that atleast it does look nice...just not Disney fun nice.

WOW - I love the new rooms!! I have to say after looking at both pics, the CR looks much nicer then the Poly pics. The Poly bedspreads still look outdated to me. The closet and TV look nice though.

WOW - CR rooms look fantastic. We are definately booking there for 2006. Honestly - I too NEVER understood how someone could pay a few hundred a night to stay in the old rooms. They were SO loud and tacky. When I get back from the parks, I want to relax and unwind. The new CR rooms, I may not even go to the parks. We have a 3 yr old and she is all about Disney like her Mommy but personally I don't want hidden mickey's and constant animation in my hotel room as well. These new rooms are a nice retreat to go back and rest in. I know DH will love them. He was never a fan of the theming.

I hope they work on the lobby too.

The new CR rooms look very nice, but look like a modern 'show home' to me
No 'theme'(other than contemporary decor). I prefer the new Poly look. Its perfect. I may change our Beach Club ressie to stay at the Poly now.

They're just doing the South Wing now and that's scheduled to go till Oct 31, so I doubt they'll start the Tower till after that. Sorry!

I have never had any desire to stay at the Contemporary - now I do! Wow! That looks great! It reminds me of the Westin in downtown Atlanta.

When I booked my room for late Sept. on 14th floor I asked the CM if the rooms were scheduled to be redone, he told me 14th floor was scheduled for June. I'm hoping he's correct.
