New Check In From Home and DDP?

When the new system that allows guests to check in from home begins, (mid-Feb. I think) will we be able to pay for the dining plan then or will we still have to do that when we arrive? MS did not know when I called to book a couple of months ago.

The WDW reservation system has been down for several hours. There is a link to the page on my DVC reservation "Enter Celebrations Information" for on-line check-in maybe? The link takes me to the same page as typing in www(dot)mydisneyreservation(dot)com. I am very confident that this link is the on-line check in from the description in the DCV news article.

"Those who take advantage of Disney's Online Check-In service will be able to login and complete your resort check-in beginning 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. You will also be able to review your reservation, add room requests and enter information about special occasions you are celebrating during your visit."

I believe you have to add a credit card # on the form if you want room charging. They will probably charge the DDP to that card.

I was able to enter my reservation information for both my CRB stay on the 7th and SSR Feb 12-16th. But neither allowed me to do anything other then add information about a "celebration" for the vacation. No CC information or anything that indicated to me I was "checking-in".
