I am decorating some little zipped canvas bags for the people going on our trip. My plan is that they can use them to hold their pins (the ones not currently on the lanyard). I planned to use some iron on disigns on the front side and let my 2 year old use fabric markers to decorate the backs. I didn't read the marker directions ahead of time and now am not sure how to proceed. I bought crayola fabric markers. They can be heat set by ironing the back side of the fabric or throwing the item in the dryer. I already did the iron ons. :( I thought it would be better to get them done and on nicely first.

If I throw the bags in the dryer, the iron ons won't look very good anymore, will they? I used Avery transfers from Walmart. I can't fit the iron inside the bag to iron just the back side of the piece of fabric with the markers on it. If I iron through both sides of the bag will that set the markers? If I do that I will have to iron on the iron ons. Will that destroy them?

What can I do? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I don't know if this will work...:confused3... but what if you put cardboard in the middle of the bags so the heat does not transfer thru to the iron ons.. and then iron the 'crayon side" with a press cloth in place??
Good luck it sounds like a great project!
