We went to Claire's this afternoon, before her birthday party.

She got extremely anxious on the ride to the mall! I kept telling her she could back out at any time. I thought at the end she was going to bolt from the chair and had to tell her that if she didn't calm down, I wouldn't let her do it. That got her resolve back (LOL, nothing like some natural opposition to what Mom's wants!).

It was over in a matter of seconds, of course, and it didn't hurt her at all! She was so cute afterwards....she seemed amazed at herself, that she had actually gone through with it!

And she looks adorable with those little posts in her ears! (Her daddy thinks she looks a little too grown up for his taste, LOL!)

Thanks for all the opinions about this!

Oh, the milestones we women take........

Good for her. :) I think the anticipation of the pain is sometimes worse than the pain itself.

Congrats to her! :D I didn't get mine pierced till I was 14 (afraid of the pain). I still wear those posts sometimes.

I bet Allison looks adorable, Bet! She definitely is a young lady who needs pierced ears, it fits her style! :)

Yeah, your sweet little girl wanted her ears pierced and mine wants a rat !

How fun for your DD! I can't wait til Hunter wants to pierce hers. She talks about it and then quickly chickens out. :p

Bucky, mine want both. lol

Oh and they played a dirty trick on my 5 year old neices. We have frozen mice in my freezer to feet the snakes. My nieces mentioned wanting a mouse and my youngest went in and got one of those frozen mice and held it in her hand and told the girls it was sleeping.  They believed her and was petting it.

Laurie that is mean.:teeth: I don't want to look in your freezer, btw.;)

Bet, what kind of earrings did she choose?:) I bet she had fun showing off her new ears at her party.:)

My younger sister (11) and I got our ears pierced today. Her birthday was yesterday and she wanted to hers done for a long time. I wanted to get a 2nd hole in my ears, so i got that done. My little sister said it didn't hurt as much as she thought it would have. She got her birthstone studs, and i just got some regular studs.

That is great Bet! Good for Allison, glad that she was able to calm down and get them done. :)

Based on the advice I heard on the thread I posted last night, Allison opted for the 14k white gold studs....hopefully that will decrease the chance of an allergic reaction.

Yeah, your sweet little girl wanted her ears pierced and mine wants a rat !

Buck....

awwwww your baby isn't s baby anymore. BTW, my ds son got one of his done last yr!, thought i was done with piercing ears (and buttons when my dd got her navel done 5 yrs ago!) LOL. Watch out bet, that may be next:eek:

Aww...I bet they do look cute! My dd (7) got hers done before Christmas. She has been tentative about trying to change earrings. At first I was frustrated with her, but I have come to the conclusion she will have the rest of her life to change her earrings! Plus, saves me money this way!;) So we only change earrings about once a week, but continue to clean them every day or every other day.

My youngest (5) is clamoring to get hers done, but I am going to make her wait (why, I don't know:rolleyes: ) until she turns 6.

I hope your dd really enjoys them!

:) :)

She's braver than I am! I'm 23 and still don't have my ears pierced, LOL! :teeth:

Oh Bet!!! Allison is growing up so fast. She is already a lovely girl and I bet those earrings put the icing on the cake!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Allison and Congratulations!!!
