Who: me :earsgirl: 24, self proclaimed Disney addict who does not want treatment and scrapbook diva
my fiancé :earsboy: 33, loves Mission Space, tolerates everything else Disney, puts up with my Disney obsession b/c he loves me

What: Our first trip to Disney during the Christmas Festivities

When: Reservations dates 12/4-12/14, actual days 12/4-12/10

Where: stayed on property at POFQ, Building #1

Why: After how everything worked out, I am still asking myself this! But just like a true Cinderella story there is a happy ending after all (although that didn't happen until a few days ago!).

The Details: Here we go, sorry if I make any mistakes, it's my first TR!

Pre-trip:
I started planning our Dec 05 trip in late Sept 04 when we returned from our last Disney trip. I always wanted to go to WDW at Christmas and couldn't wait. :Pinkbounc We both got AP's this year as we plan on going at least twice. Narrowed down definite dates in Jan 05, made hotel ressies in August 05, tour and dinner ressies in Sept 05. Obsessively called dining from Sept 05- late Nov 05 to get an ADR for Cindy's breakfast (it worked, don't ever give up). Worked overtime like crazy for extra Disney money for months, agonizingly watched my ticker count down the days, and just plain drove everyone around me crazy chattering about Disney nonstop.

Day 1: Sunday, December 4th- The waiting is finally over!
Reviews of DME, POFQ, and MGM~ Osbourne Family Lights

I woke up bright and early at 8 am (for a night owl like me, this is the crack of dawn!), but didn’t feel well. I had obsessively washed my hands, stayed away from sick people, took my vitamins, etc. for weeks so that I would not get sick before our trip. I chalked it up to anxiety and a minor sinus infection. Packed some sinus tablets and had some orange juice and kept telling myself I was just imagining it. We arrived at the airport after lunch for our 4:40 flight at 2:00. A little early considering the tiny airport here, but wanted to give extra time for any problems. I got super excited when we checked in for our flight b/c I noticed the family in line next to me also had Disney’s Magical Express luggage tags. As we sat across from them and waited I tried to be good and not run over to them to talk Disney. That lasted all of about 20 min. I chatted to the mom of the family for a few minutes, it was their first trip, they were staying at All Star’s Sports, and she was a Disney planning virgin. Didn’t know Pop Werner was going to be there, had the dining plan and only one ADR, didn’t know the hours to the parks, etc. We didn’t chat too long cause I didn’t want to burst her bubble with the impending doom they were facing. Our flight arrived on time, but sat at the terminal forever, we finally were boarded at 5:15 and the pilot kindly tells us that the computer on the plane went haywire and had to be rebooted. This was not what a first time flyer like me wanted to here while sitting in that iddy bitty tin can they called a plane. I had a window seat and the under 2 hour flight flew by. We did have some minor turbulence and passed over some thunderstorms which to me were beautiful. We landed in O-town at 6:50 only 10 min late. Now how they did that considering we left over 30 min late is beyond me but I won’t ask.

Upon arriving we walked thru the terminal caught the airport tram right away, came out on the other side and went down the elevator and ended up right in front of DME counter. I was so happy we found it without problems that the huge line didn’t faze me. When we walked toward the ropes and waving Mickey hands and attendant asked us if we had a reservation and escorted us to a second line with no wait! Talk about pixie dust already! :wizard: The DME rep was friendly and helpful, quickly checked us in and directed us into the great rope maze, as we were nearing the end of our maze, the attendant was closing the gate for that round of passengers on the bus. She saw us coming and waved us on, took us right to the bus, and we hoped on and took off. No wait whatsoever, the pixie dust was really snowing down on us! :wizard: :wizard: Our bus serviced both Port Orleans resorts, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs. After a short stop at Saratoga Springs were off the bus at POFQ.

We checked in and were assigned a room in building #1. I requested #4, but what can you do, it’s always luck of the draw. :( We arrived in our room by 7:30pm, upon first impression of the POFQ resort I was not thrilled. I think the fact that our room was furthest from the bus stop instead of closest had something to do with it, but POFQ is such a compact resort that it turned out to not really be too much of an issue. We had a lovely view of the parking lot! But I can’t ever bring myself to pay for preferred or water view rooms because we don’t look out the windows too much, so it was no big deal. There were also several trees blocking a lot of the view so I really didn’t notice the lot too much. We noticed some random trash in the landscaping and a lovely baggie full of water hanging in the tree directly outside our door. I really liked the décor of our room, it was much better than any other Disney resort we had stayed in. I thought the bathroom area was great b/c the addition of the curtain that makes it a separate area, Chad can sleep in while I get ready. Our room was dusty, the dresser had visible dust on the top and in the ‘cubby hole’ and the shelf above the coat rack was very dusty. I have never had a room that wasn’t immaculately cleaned. That was unexpected, but I guess Disney can’t be perfect.

We left the room and went to MGM as they were having Extra Magic Hours that night and we needed to exchange our AP vouchers for our passes. We arrived at MGM at 8pm and had no problems exchanging passes at guest services. Since we were there, we went on in to walk around for a while since we didn’t have our luggage to unpack anyway. We were a little taken aback by the crowds :crowded: we found in MGM since this week of December was supposed to be a “slow” week. But since I had read several horror stories about crowds on EMH nights we just brushed it off as crowds due to that. We didn’t do much that night, but did check the wait for RnR :earseek: (35 min, way to long for me!), went to see if our favorite restaurant, Mama Melrose’ was open (it wasn’t), and then walked thru the Osborne Lights. I was a little disappointed in the lights. I really liked them and thought they were great but I guess I was expecting more since it was at Disney. But it did put me in the Christmas spirit right away with the snow falling and the carols playing. After walking thru the display and snapping some pictures, we decided to catch our favorite show at MGM, Muppetvision 3D. There wasn’t a wait and we only had to watch the preshow commercial once! The show as usual was hysterical with great 3D effects and after leaving we decided to head back to the hotel and see if our luggage had arrived.

When we entered our room our luggage was waiting on the beds. I was really pleased with DME services, we got back to our room at 9:30, so in less than 3 hours from the time our planed landed at Orlando-International we had our luggage. I would definitely use the services again in the future. :) We went back down to Sassalousa Floatworks for dinner and ended up with only one choice, the pasta counter. We love Italian food so we didn’t mind. Chad and I both got spaghetti and meatballs with a small salad. We were both starved but the sauce was less than desirable. Almost tasted like plain tomato paste with no seasoning. I guess our first clue should have been that they had shakers of garlic and oregano on the counter. The breadsticks were awesome, though and I wish I would have just got those. I figured we would have better luck with food tomorrow, as our first stop in the morning was breakfast with Pooh.

Day 2: Monday, December 5th – Excited to meet Eyeore!
MK & more MK & EPCOT

Day 2: Monday, December 5th – Excited to meet Eyeore!
MK & EPCOT

We had breakfast reservations at 8:30 at the Crystal Palace in MK to eat with Winnie the Pooh and his friends. I was really excited to go b/c on our last trip I fell in love  with Eyeore. I even planned ahead and wore my Eyeore T-shirt so he could see it. We arrived at the MK at 8:10 and had no problem getting in. We took this opportunity to get a few pictures of the mostly deserted main street and some great castle pictures. We also used Photopass for the first time and got the Castle picture that I have always wanted. (Turns out after we get home that the 4 pictures he took of us were the only ones missing from our Photopass card :badpc: ). We headed over to CP to eat. I had read such good things about the breakfast here, I figured it would be one of our best ever. Boy was CP really crowded and LOUD! We were seated within 5 minutes and Chad went to get some food. The line was backed up to the door on both buffet lines. Not a good start to the meal. About 10 min later he returned and I went to get some food. While I was gone, who comes to the table, but Eyeore! I missed him; I was so disappointed. :sad2: And I had worn my shirt and everything just for him. Chad did get his autograph for me, and when one of the CM’s walked by I asked how long it would take for him to come back. She said he should work his way around within 30-45 minutes. Chad is not an adventurous eater, so it was normal breakfast food for him. Scrambled eggs, bacon, and some pancakes. I had the same with the breakfast casserole, hash browns, a chocolate pastry, and a Pooh Waffle. Piglet and Pooh came by while we were eating and stopped for autographs and photos. I did go back and get an omelet made to order and it was great although I had to wait quite a while in line for it. Tigger was almost at the table so I hurried back, he got to the table behind us and then walked away! The kids at the table next to me and myself were both about to burst into tears. :( Tigger is the only Pooh character that I have never got to meet in our previous trips and I had the cutest scrapbook stuff for him! Eeyore was all the way on the other side of the resturaunt, so we gave up on waiting for him and were getting ready to leave when Tigger came back and straight to my table. I finally got my picture and autograph and we were done with Crystal Palace. Overall I was not that impressed with CP, I would eat there again just to get in MK first, but it is definitely not my first choice of character breakfasts. Our server was not that great and we often had to stop another CM and ask for refills. I thought the food was decent, Chad was not so happy with it. We both agreed the scrambled eggs were undercooked, and the food overall didn't seem as hot and fresh as it should be with the crowds of people scarfing it down. We liked Chef Mickey’s and Hollywood & Vine breakfast much better. On a 5 star system, I would give it ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo and Chad gives it ::MickeyMo .

We headed out into MK and over to Adventureland, it was mostly still deserted since most attractions don’t open until a little later. We did go ahead and hit the Haunted Manstion in Liberety Square and then went back to Adventurland to catch Pirates of the Carribean. We browsed a little in a few shops and then headed to Frontierland to check out the pins at the Outpost and ride our favorite roller coaster, Big Thunder. There was a 10 min wait posted, but we really ended up walking right on. We both love the classic rides at Disney so this was the perfect way to start out our day. Then we went to Fantasyland to see what the waits were like, It’s a Small World had no wait and was closed when we were there last year, so although Chad protested we went ahead and rode it. He absolutely hates IASW, but he was a pretty good sport. I don’t love it, but it’s a classic and I wanted to check out the restoration job. The streets were quite crowded but no one seemed to be getting in line for anything, just milling around aimlessly. So we went over and rode Peter Pan’s Flight and caught a performance of Mickey’s Phillharmagic, my all time favorite 3D show, while we were in FL. We didn’t have to wait more than 5 minutes for either attraction. After we got out of Phillharmagic the crowds decided to quite wondering and all got in line. Peter Pan shot up to 35 min, IASW 20, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin was at 35, so we decided to head to Epcot. When we walked by Stitch’s Great Escape there was a 10 min wait, and since we have never been on this, we decided to give it a try. I have heard such bad things about SGE on the Dis I wasn’t expecting too much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved Alien Encounter and wish they would have left it, but Stitch was pretty cute, except for the chili dog thing. I have a really weak stomach that is very sensitive to bad smells, thanks to the Dis I was wise on this and knew it was coming so I covered my nose and only got a small whiff. :teeth: Chad unexpectedly got the full effect. We still miss AE, but Stitch was not really that bad. I thought it was cute. I wouldn’t want to experience it several times in a row, but once a trip wouldn’t be bad. The one thing that Chad and I both wondered was: why it took so long to get SGE open? The interior is AE made over and it didn’t even seem that most of the interior signage was altered much.

We had enough of MK at this point and caught the monorail to Epcot. As soon as we got to Epcot and saw that the wait was 80 minutes for Soarin’ we headed to Mission Space, Chad’s favorite ride. The wait was posted at 10 minutes which we couldn’t believe since Test Track was 50 and single rider was 35, but we went on it anyway. We walked right on, no wait whatsoever. MS was great as always and Chad and I had a good chuckle over the 30 something couple that were to ride with us. The man was getting ready to go in and he chickened out and took off. :scared: His wife was disappointed, but said she knew it would happen. We told her about the last trip when we got in the simulator with a couple and the man’s wife had the seat closest to the exit, well she walked in and right on out without stopping, leaving her husband to sit down and strap in then realize she was gone! It was so funny. We left MS to walk around Future World and saw that Universe of Energy was starting in 10 minutes. I have never have done UoE, so we gave it a shot. I really like it, thought it was a cute show and loved the effect of the moving theater seats. Chad and I both agreed that UoE would have been a wonderful attraction to do in the summer to cool off and rest your tired feet. We then headed back to the hotel for our afternoon break.

We spent an hour or so in the room and then headed back to MK for a late lunch. As soon as we walked in Chad spotted Pluto and King Louie in town square, so I went and got some pics and more autographs. We love Pecos Bills, Chad is as happy with a hamburger/fries than he is with a sit down restaurant and I was craving sautéed mushrooms and onions. As usual Pecos Bills was great and you can’t beat the price for a meal in the MK! We both give Pecos Bills 4 x ::MickeyMo .Since our tummies were full we decided to take a nice tame ride on Haunted Mansion again. I noticed the first time that the audio was not working in our doom buggy and just thought it was a fluke, well this time the audio was out in the same spots again. The ride kinda loses something without you ghost host present, but it was still fun. We headed over to Tommarrowland and got in line for Buzz. The wait was posted at 20 min and it was dead on. The queue was larger than we had ever seen in Buzz. Keep in mind we are September Disney-ers and are used to walking in with no waits. Then I saw that Carosel of Progress was open. Since rumors have it that it may be gone soon, I wanted to experience it before it was too late. The Dis reviews were great, so I was psyched. The ride did not disappoint. We thought it was a great show and the catchy song was stuck in my head all night long. :rolleyes1 After COP we hopped on the monorail again to Epcot. (We are major park hoppers :bounce: if you can’t tell).

In Epcot we went straight to Mission Space (again) and walked right on again. This is the best ride ever! We could (and have!) ride it over and over again and not get tired of it. Checked the wait for Soarin’: 80 minutes :earseek: , no way! Went to see if we could get a FP for it, this was about 6pm, all FP for the day were gone. Headed to Test Track; 50 minutes, 35 for single riders, Test Track is pretty neat but not that great. I rate it at a 25 min wait, tops! Since Future World wasn’t working out too well we headed for World Showcase, which is our favorite way to spend the night in Epcot. We walked thru the countries and browsed the shops, then happened upon the line for the 8pm Candlelight Processional. Yikes! The CP dinner package line was backed up from America halfway thru Japan (literally). I couldn’t believe it. Chad already was not wanting to do the CP dinner. I had selected Garden Grill b/c of the characters, of course, but seeing this line was twice as long as the standby line didn’t help. We continued on our trip around the world and then we stopped in Future World for a Mickey Bar. My first of the trip, I can’t believe I had made it this long without one. Then we went in MouseGears and ‘window’ shopped. I just :lovestruc that store, could spend hours in there. Then we checked the wait for Soarin’ again, wow only 60 minutes  , still not going to get me in that line. So we headed back to POFQ.

On this trip back, we had the best bus driver named Dan, he was nice and friendly and chatted with us as soon as we got on. He asked if we had rode Soarin’ and told us it was great and not to miss it. He also said he knew the best time to ride and he would tell us all when he started driving. Dan chatted the whole way to the hotel, gave Epcot park hours, and talked about Extra Magic Hour night. He knew the attractions that would be open and everything. I wish all the bus drivers were like him. Chad and I had worked up an appetite walking around the world so we stopped by the food court for a bite to eat. Chad had a hamburger and fries and I decided to try of the taco salads (beef). Chad had to wait on his hamburger but it was worth it, as it was hot and fresh. My taco salad was huge. As I was watching the CM make it I kept thinking she is putting an awful lot of ‘stuff’ in there. It was more than enough for 2 people to eat much less one and every bite was delicious. Chad and I both rate this meal 4x ::MickeyMo .

Day 3: December 6th, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
AK, MK, MVMCP, LTT

Tuesday morning we decided to start the day at Animal Kingdom. It was a little chilly and overcast this morning, but I figured it would get warmer :sunny: . We both decided on shorts and t-shirts. We got at AK right after the rope drop and it was crowded. After we got in the park, we decided to tackled It’s Tough To be a Bug first. Bug’s life is one of my all time favorite movies and I just love this show. The show itself was great. The children screaming in que, and all the way thru the show were not. I just don’t get it, there are several warnings that the show has dark moments and the CM in que and before the show repeated these, but still the screamers stayed and tried to ruin the show for everyone. The lady sitting next to me speaking a foreign language to her whole family throughout the show was not great. :chat: At first I thought she was translating I’m not even sure if they knew the show was going on, they sure weren’t watching. But despite the rudeness from others, I still enjoyed the show and all of it’s effects. Chad and I love to walk the trails at AK so we headed to Maharajah Jungle Trek to see the Tigers. Last year Chad got some great pics of the tigers and I wanted to see if my new camera was up to the task. We did get to see quite a few sleepy cats, but there were some active ones, too. One part of the tiger habitat was walled off and there were several AK CM’s around. We were wondering if one of the tigers was sick or hurt, but didn’t ask. After we left the Jungle Trek, I stopped to get some picture of Asia and Expedition Everest. It looks great, pretty much done, and I really wanted to ride, but maybe next time. :bitelip: On our way to Kilamanjaro Chad spotted DeVine coming down the path. I had never knew about her until the Dis and wanted to see her. She really is amazing, what a talented performer. I got to snap a few pictures of her and she was off. Chad and I also happened upon a great scenic overlook of the Tree of Life and got some unobstructed pictures. Kilimanjaro had a 35 minutes wait by the time we got there so we grabbed some FP’s and went off to check out the rest of the park. We walked by the Tarzan Show 10 minutes before it started. Since this too is soon to be a thing of the past and we had never seen it, we went in. Chad is not into shows and such as much as I am, but he is always a sweetie and sits thru them. We got great seats and were ready to see the show. It was ok. I can see why it is going to be replaced, but I am glad that I got a chance to see it, too. The rock concert part was an interesting take on any Disney movie/show . I was amazed by the rollerbladers and acrobats, but could have done with a little more Tarzan/ a little less singing. :rolleyes1 Chad didn’t like it much at all and wished we would have taken that time to ride Dinosaur. The theater was a little chilly, but better than walking around out in the wind. :cold: We left and went in search of something to eat. I have always wanted to eat at FlameTree and we were headed there, but when we got there, Mr. Picky backed out on me. Chad is not into vegetables much at all and I kept promising I would get him fries with his BBQ, but the baked beans on the plate were enough to scare him away. :scared1: He HATES any type of bean. We have already ate at Donald’s before and I vowed to never eat there again, so we decided to go on the Panangi Trails and then use our FP for Kilomanjaro and leave. I got some great pictures on the trails of everything except the meerkats, it must have been too cold for those guys and they were hiding. We were starting to think that wasn’t such a bad idea, as it was getting cooler and cooler. When we got done it was time for our FP’s so we hoped in line. The standby was at 30 minutes, the FP line took us about 15. Chad and I got lucky and were able to get on the front row of the jeep before the one we were in line for. The CM counted wrong and they had an open seat so we hopped in. Our guide was Jason and he did a great job with pointing out the various animals and keeping to the ‘story’. The advantage of sitting in the front was Jason had the heat cranked up and we could feel it blowing back on us every once in a while. I was next to the side of the Jeep taking pictures, but halfway thru I was so cold, I joined Chad in the middle of the seat to try to warm up. We were putting our freezing hands out toward the heat to try to warm them up like a campfire. By the time we were done with our safari, my teeth were chattering and Chad was freezing. :cold: We decided it was time to go to the room and warm up. We ducked into one of the shops to warm up for a bit and Chad bought a sweatshirt to wear that night to MVMCP. We knew some of the nights in Disney might be chilly but we never expected the days to be so cold. It wasn’t much warmer than it was at home when we left! Then it was off to the hotel to warm up. This was a first for us, we are usually going to the room to cool off! :rotfl:

more to come tommarrow....... thanks for reading!
Happy New Year everyone!

We went back to POFQ and ate lunch. Chad had a burger and I had a turkey sandwich with homemade potato chips. Yum! They were great. POFQ food court was quickly becoming a favorite for us. Then we headed to the room for a nap. I never nap during the day and was surprised when I feel asleep. Disney was really wearing me out this time. MVMCP started at 7, so we planned on being back in the park by 6:30. We got up and got ready, checked the tempature outside, :cold: dressed warmly and set off. We arrived around 6 o’clock as the park was being swept for non party goers. We grabbed a seat outside of Casey’s and took some pictures of the Castle and just enjoyed being together. Then we headed over to Adventureland since that is where all the party goers seemed to be heading. We rode POTC again, and then onto Liberty Square, for what. Haunted Mansion of course! This time the sound was a little better, but still had a few little bugs.

We walked around for a bit and saw Belle and Beast in their holiday attire. I had waited to see them before and always got cut off in line before getting to them, so Chad and I got in the line which wasn’t too bad and waited. We were nearing the front when the handler announced that they would be going in soon and another princess coming out. Noooooo! Belle always does this to me, I’m starting to think she doesn’t like me. I anxiously awaited my turn :Pinkbounc while the family in front of my whipped out 6 huge autograph books and had to have an individual picture with each child, then 2 kids together, then the whole group, then photopass pictures, then their other camera, then little timmy didn’t smile right let’s do it again, etc. I was ready to scream, I just knew Belle would be gone. The bad thing is that family in front of us and I chatted about that very thing and they mentioned other people infront of use taking a long time with the charectors, and low and behold they were the worst in line. But someone sprinkled a little pixie dust :wizard: on my and I made it to Belle. She was so sweet and beautiful. I told her I didn’t think I was going to make it and that she always disappeared when we were in line, she apologized profusely and even joked that it was Beast’s fault, he got grumpy if they were out too long! :rotfl: After getting my pic and autograph Chad and I left and so did Belle and Beast! We happened upon the MVMCP Dance Party that was just starting. Pinocchio and his cat friend were there and I got a few pics and to dance with them for a few minutes, then we stopped by Frontierland and found Brier’ Rabbit near the entrance to Splash Mountain. Then it was almost time for our ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern so we headed back to Liberty Square. We were seated within 5 minutes or our ADR time, and our hostess was from a small town about 20 minutes from us, it’s a small world! LTT was a great meal. I loved everything and Chad couldn’t get enough of the macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. He even tried some of the apply desert. I tried to tell him it was Stouffer’s mac and cheese, but he won’t listen, says it’s too good. We got to meet all of the characters and each one spent time at our table signing autographs and posing for pictures. Although she was very busy, our server was attentive and never let us get low on drinks or food. It was a great meal. Chad and I both want to eat at LTT again and we give it a 5 ::MickeyMo ’s. After LTT we came out just as the 1st parade was going by and we caught a few minutes of it. Since we were stuck on the LS side of the park we headed to Adventureland and ran into my favorite villain, Captain Hook! pirate: Boy was I excited. The first time I meet Hook, he and Smee ‘robbed’ me and pulled my hair riffled thru my backpack, we had a great time. At that time I wasn’t collecting autographs so this was my #1 most important signature to get. A few pictures later and we were happily off. We rode POTC again and then decided to scope out a spot for Wishes. We got on the Adventureland side of the castle with a great view and a bench seat! We only had about 20 minutes until the show started so we sat and waited. Holiday Wishes was fabulous. I loved every second of it, the fireworks were bright and beautiful and even better the firework setting on my digital camera worked pretty good, too. (I can’t help it, the scrapbooker in my comes out often! :teeth: ) After Wishes Chad and I headed to Toontown and Mickey, Minnie, and Daisy Duck with a 10 minute wait. Off to Tommarrowland where we did Space Ranger Spin again and checked out the line to meet the Incredibles.

The Incredibles line was a bit much so we were off to Main Street to get our MVMCP pins. We picked those up and a few from the first 3 parties and then went to scope out a spot for the parade. We ended up in Frontierland near Liberty Square, and got pretty good front row spots. We only had 15 minutes until it started and I though we did well. The parade was amazing. The floats were beautiful all of my favorite charectors were there, and the music was just perfect. Everytime I hear some of those Christmas songs they played I will always think of disney. I would drive back to Florida 10+ hours and pay to go to MVMCP just to go to the parade again! I loved it that much. I don’t think I have ever been in more of a Christmas spririt than I was when the parade ended. :cloud9:

After the parade we knew our time in the park was getting sparse so we went off to get our MVMCP picture takes. On the way we passed by Donald’s Tree Lot and there he was with on a few people in line, so we hopped joined them. Luckily as soon as we joined the line the masses :grouphug: decided to follow so we time it just perfect. I got another autograph and Chad took some more pictures and we were on to get our picture made. We went to the photographers set up in the Timekeeper. I have never been in the Timekeeper and I would love to experience it, so I was amazed at the size of the screen, but it looks like the semi-permanent cuing set up for pictures means the Timekeeper is going to be closed for quite a while! :( I wasn’t that impressed with the background for the picture, but it was free so what the heck. When I got the pictures (arrived 2 days after we got home, exactly 7 days after the party) I certainly wasn’t impressed. But I wasn’t expecting much and it’s a picture of the two of us together which we don’t get often, so I’ll take it. After the picture we walked out and right into line for the Incredibles, we got lucky and got there just before they closed the cues. A few more autographs and pictures and I was on :cloud9: . I really collected quite a few tonight. Since the park was closing Chad and I headed for the exit and browsed in a few main street shops before continuing on. I also took some time to get some pictures of Main Street and the MK tree all light up. It was magical with the holiday décor out in full force. Exhausted we returned to the room well after midnight.

I was soaking wet after riding Splash that afternoon, and my pants never fully dried that evening! I bought a new sweatshirt/jacket to wear to MVMCP that evening to try to stay warm... the coldness almost felt like I was back home!!

Awaiting more of your report!!

When we got up on Wednesday, I wasn’t feeling too well, but attributed it to the late night and little sleep. My throat was getting sore so I went ahead and took some more sinus medicine and we headed out to MGM. We got a late start and didn’t arrive until after 10. Chad and I love MGM and couldn’t wait to check out the new stunt show, but we were starving and wanted to eat at our favorite restaurant first. Since Mama Melrose’ wasn’t open yet, we headed toward Tot and RnR. The waits were at about 35 minutes or so, so we decided to head elsewhere. We browsed in a few shops on the Blvd, and then we spotted character greetings near the hat and of course I just had to have some more pictures and autographs. Alladin first, Lilo and Stitch second. While were standing in line it was starting to sprinkle a little, but it wasn’t bad enough for the characters to retreat. I was debating on whether to brave the line for Eeyore and Tigger when the swapped out to Pooh and Piglet. It’s just not meant to be for me and Eeyore! :p Decision made, we headed over to Star Tours. Chad is a huge Star Wars fan and loves this ride. This is the only ride that has ever made me sick, so I decided first thing in the morning on an empty stomach may not be ideal, so we opted out and browsed thru the Star Traders shop for a minute. As we headed past Lights, Motors, Action it was seemed it was getting ready to start so we joined the masses and went on in. Unfortunately they were stopping us at the back gates and we were going to have to wait for another 20 minutes before we could get our seats. While standing there, Chad mentioned that he didn’t have his camera with him and it might be better to come back another time. He has a SLR that takes great action shots, my digital camera tends to blur them, so for the sake of my scrapbook  we hopped out line and headed back out. By now we were starved and decided to go eat some lunch. Mama Melrose’ was just opening when we arrived and we were seated within 10 minutes with no ADR. Chad and I both love their pizzas so were ready to order without looking at the rest of the menu. Chad had pepperoni and I had pepperoni, mushroom, and onion. As usual the pizzas were great. Chad finished his in no time, but I started to have problems swallowing, so I only ate about ½ of mine. I still wrote it off as sinus drainage and went on. Chad and I give Mama Melrose' ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo . After we ate we headed back to the animation courtyard and took the animation tour. While this was cute, I was really disappointed in the tour part, from what I had read on it before it seemed much more detailed and this wasn’t at all. But we did get to meet Abby Mallard and Chicken Little, so in the end it was worth it. We then went to check out ToT and RnR lines, now at 50 minutes :earseek: so we decided to wait. Since we were walking by Beauty and the Beast about 10 minutes before it started and since I have always wanted to see the show, I talked Chad into watching it. We ended up with really good seats to get there so late, about halfway up the bottom stands and slightly off the the right side of center stage. The show was just beautiful. I loved every minute of it, and thought that the show was adapted to stage well. I have never scene B&B on stage anywhere and now after seeing the show I would love to see the full adaptation. After we got out of the show I was starting to feel tired and my throat was hurting more, so we headed to the room for a nap.

I decided that I would take a warm bath to see if I would feel any better, and then we both took a nap. I felt much better after some rest so we headed out to Downtown Disney. We took the bus down and this turned out to be a 40 minutes trip. For some reason we went to Riverside and then back to POFQ again before heading downtown. So by the time we got there my energy was already zapped, but I trudged along. We went in the scrapbook store (of course!), the toy store and the World of Disney. By the time we got done I was exhausted so we sat down for a break and my throat was getting worse and worse and my nose was getting stuffy. :headache: It was a little chilly that night, so we decided that before I got completely sick we would head to the room. On the bus ride home, I got struck by sudden inspiration  to get rid of my cold/illness. Liquor. I have always heard my grandparents and other people say that if you drank a bottle of Jack Daniels the next day your cold would be gone. Since a whole bottle of JD in me would not have been a pretty site, we stopped by the Scat Club at POFQ for a few drinks. The bar area was really nice and Chad and I enjoyed our drinks and talked. There was a one man band getting ready to warm up for the evening and we planned on sticking around to hear some of his music, but I was feeling worse. Dang it, the booze was supposed to help! I was able to get down one frozen drink, but I was having difficulty with that. We headed to the room and I hoped in the bath tub again to see if it would make me sleepy, while Chad decided to head back to the bar to check out the music. The warm bath worked and I felt a tiny bit better as I climbed into bed and turned on my favorite thing to watch at Disney. The “I Love Appliances” guy. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We saw these 30 minute commercials last time we were at Disney. It’s for appliance wharehouse (or something like that) and they are just hilarious. Chad came home and told me about the nice people he met at the bar and about the one man band. Chad really enjoyed the music; he said that the man played a variety from blues, to jazz, and rock n’ roll. I was sad that I missed it.

Exhausted, I was asleep by 10pm.

When I woke up on Thurdsay morning and I felt just awful. My throat was raw, I could barely swallow, my ears were killing me, my chest hurt, my neck and back were stiff and I just felt horrid. Since we had flown and didn’t have a car, we considered our options. :scratchin I figured that we could take a cab to an Urgent Care facility, but I didn’t know where one was close by. We considered renting a car and going to look for a place. I searched the phonebook for doctors nearby, but the phonebook was huge and I had no idea what was near. I finally had a sudden inspiration  and grabbed my Unofficial Guide to look at the medical information in it. There were several medical services listed that would make house calls to your hotel. I contacted the first services and checked prices and made an appointment. Starting at $200 seemed like an awful lot of money, but as bad as I felt I didn’t care, but this service could give me a shot if I wanted it, so I decided to go ahead and call the second number for East Coast Medical Network and they quoted me a price of $130 and said they could give injections, also that they would help me file this on my insurance. This seemed like a bargain, so I made the appointment and called and cancelled the first one. Chad went down to the gift shop and brought me up some orange juice, the second I drank some of it and my throat felt like it was on fire, I knew I had blisters in my throat. The doctor arrived at our room by 9:30 am. From the moment she walked in the door she seemed in a huge hurry and ready to fly out of there. She asked me the standard medical questions and what was wrong with me, etc, and looked in my mouth. No light or nothing, and she said that I had acute tonsillitis and strep. After the orange juice incident I pretty much knew this so I wasn’t surprised. I have had strep enough times to know that getting a shot will cure the strep in about 2 days verses pills that can take a week, so I asked for a shot. The doctor rummaged thru her suitcase and said she didn’t think she had it with her, but then found it. The price of the shot was $75 for half the syringe full of medicine plus an injection fee of $30 plus a disposal fee for the needle usually $18, so for a full injection I would have had to pay $198! :earseek: I thought this woman was crazy. :bitelip: I was also concerned b/c I kept telling her that my neck and chest were hurting and she hadn’t even listened to my lungs. I opted to get the pills which she subscribed at a fee of $70! I had to ask twice her if she would subscribe something for the swelling and pain and she did, but didn’t have it with her, so she said Turner Drugs a local pharmacy would deliver them. When I asked about the insurance filing she handed me the receipt ($242 for the visit, a far cry from the $130 I was quoted) and said to send that to them and left. I was not impressed by her ‘bedside manners’ to say the least. I started taking my medicine immediately and went to take another bath in hopes I would feel better. We spent all day in the room, and I slept off and on. Chad had his usual lunch of a hamburger and fries at the food court, but I didn’t feel up to eating anything. By that evening I was starting to feel a teensy little better, but mostly bad for wasting a whole day of my precious Disney time in the room, so I convinced Chad I was well enough to head out for the night.

Originally we were supposed to eat at Garden Grill tonight and then watch the Candlelight Processional, but after seeing the huge line earlier in the week, Chad convinced me to cancel our reservations, which I did the night of MVMCP while waiting on Wishes to start. It turned out to be a great thing that we cancelled as I never would have been able to go. It was an Extra Magic Hour night at Epcot, our favorite park, so we headed there. We arrived at 8pm, and got in line to get our bracelet. Then we were off to Mission Space, the wait was 10 minutes posted, but again we walked on. A quick check on Test Track revealed there was no way we were going to ride this: 50 minute wait! Chad and I were both hungry so we headed over to the Electric Umbrella for dinner. I was still having an extremely difficult time trying to swallow, so I knew my choices were limited. By the time we got there I was getting tired, so I got a table while Chad went to get our food. Hamburger and fries for him, child’s macaroni and cheese and applesauce for me. This seemed like a good choice as it would be easy to swallow, but even trying to eat half of my meal was causing me stabbing pains in my throat. The applesauce wasn’t even easy, so I finally gave up, but just trying to eat this small amount had zapped all of my energy and I felt weak and tired. Determined not to ruin another night at Disney we started toward the World Showcase. We didn’t make it very far before I realized that there was no way I was going to make it for a 1.3 mile walk around the lagoon, so I asked Chad to stop in Mouse Gears so I could buy a sweatshirt I had my eye on. We weren’t in the store for 10 minutes and I felt so bad I could have cried. My throat was so bad that I couldn’t swallow at all, not even normal salavia, so I had to get an empty bottle and spit in it. Gross! Defeated I finally told Chad that I thought I needed to sit down for a few minutes. We went outside and found a bench, but after a few minutes I was steadily feeling worse and worse, so Chad convinced me to head to the room as we had a lot planned for the morning and I needed to rest. I felt so bad leaving the park, this was the only time we would have ever been in Epcot past normal closing of 9:30 and I was looking forward to hitting some rides and seeing World Showcase. The bus ride home that night was horrid, I was so exhausted I couldn’t keep my head up, and my neck and back were aching, so I rested my head on Chad’s shoulder and counted the minutes until we were back in the room. Another hot bath and off to bed for me, hoping I would feel better in the morning as we had the Segway Tour booked at 8:30.
