*~* Muggles, Welcome to the Burrow! *~*

Looks like tonight is the night that Daniel Radcliffe bares all!! His play debuts tonight. I wonder what the reviews will be like?

I really hope he does well!

I see on HPANA that there is some report about Warner Brothers considering firing Daniel Radcliffe over Equus. Not that it would happen, but I would be steamed! :furious:

Firing, Daniel Radcliffe? Please. If WB fired Dan they may as well not make another film. I don't think people would respond too well to that. I know I wouldn't.

I certainly agree it wouldn't go over well, and that it would be a ridiculous move by WB. It is probably just another publicity stunt.

As far as Equus is concerned, shouldn't the first performance be over by now? I am surprised we have not heard anything.

I think it said that tonight is the preview and it opens on 2/27.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE conjured up a remarkable magic trick last night — by stripping off he made Harry Potter disappear.

His West End performance as a psychiatric patient in Equus was so engrossing you could forget he is the boy wizard.
Daniel plays Alan Strang, a 17-year-old who blinds six horses, in this 1970s play by Peter Shaffer. It examines a psychiatrist’s attempts to cure him.
After revealing Strang’s inner demons, Radcliffe strips totally bare for a roll in the wa-hay with blonde actress JOANNA CHRISTIE.

As well as showing London theatre-goers a back-side they hadn’t seen, Radcliffe skilfully displayed anger, wit and energy. He smoked and even uttered the F-word.
The best lines — and the laughs — came from his Potter co-star Richard Griffiths, as psychiatrist Martin Dysart.
But this play could be remembered for launching Radcliffe as one of Britain’s great actors.
A wizard effort, Daniel.

Oh good! I'm so glad to hear such a glowing review. I had no doubt in my mind that Daniel would be brilliant in this role. He shows very visible signs of being an extremely capable actor, beyond the Harry Potter fame. I wish I could see this play for myself. I feel like this is a good omen and that Dan's going to have a really long, successful career :thumbsup2

Not on topic but the poster who said Harry's and Ron's fake predictions come true, here are some examples thanks to www.mugglenet.com

In GOF, Ron and Harry sit making up predictions for Trelawney's class. If you read the book enough times, you start to realize that the predictions are more like foreshadowings.
Ron suggests to Harry that he should write down that Harry gets stabbed in the back by someone he thought was a friend.
That comes true when Ron gets mad at Harry for becoming a champion.
Then Ron says that he'll come off worse in a fight.
Later, Hermione and Ron fight about the Yule Ball and Harry thought that Hermione had gotten the point much better than Ron had.
Harry said that Ron would lose a treasured possession and the gold he gave to Harry for the Omnioculars disappeared.
Later, Hermione came up after Harry and Ron were finishing their predictions and observes that Ron seems to be drowning twice.
For the second Triwizard task, Ron and Hermione are placed on the bottom of lake and Harry thinks they'll drown if he doesn't get them out

Me too! I hope this performance and the ones that follow will silence most of his detractors. Go Dan!

Another glowing review of Dan's performance in Equus and I'm sure there will be many more to come:

The following quote was taken from the above post:

"Roger Berlind, a veteran New York theatre producer, said that if the production with Radcliffe and his fellow leading man, Richard Griffiths, wanted to move to Broadway, he would help raise the finance to present it."

That is something to look forward to. Wouldn't that be awesome if they tour on Broadway.

Good for him!! Still find the whole thing (Equus) creepy but I'm glad he's done well.:thumbsup2

OT Thanks, IrishChick, for the heads up on the Mugglenet book. I have not finished (DH and I are fighting over it), but so far, it has been very interesting, although now I am beginning to think Snape is neither good nor bad, just a Snape-first, kind of guy.

Thanks. again.

Sharon

oh i'm glad you're enjoying it! i couldn't put it down when i got it, i finished it within a few hours.

yeah i'm not so sure about Snape, either. almost like he's in it for himself, you know? he's not on anyone's side.
