Mousesavers reporting a huge deal for first half of 2009 coming tomorrow!

I am looking forward to the announcement :) Thanks, Mary, for keeping us in the know (as much as you can).

A question for pros...we'd be a first time visitor. We have planned to go for 6 nights in Dec 2009 when our twins will have turned 3 (Sep 09). If we utilize this big promo and go in Jan/Feb 2009 instead, the kids would be free so no paying for their park tickets. I did some quick math, if I kept our room at ASMu Suite and went in Jan, the savings would be $640 plus we'd get to stay an extra night. OR we could upgrade to Poly GV and save $130. This is all given that rooms are available etc. Now let me cut to the chase, do you think two year olds would enjoy the Poly more than than three year olds at ASMu with all the over the top theming? I figure this promo is the only way we could ever swing a deluxe and a monorail one at that which may be good for little ones. What do you all think?

As far as the kids are concerned...I don't think at 2 or 3 years old they will notice or care where they stay as they would if they were older and could really noticed the differences. If you really want to stay at a Deluxe and this is your way to do it, I say go for it. You may want to take into consideration the monorail as you mentioned and decide if that makes a difference too. Also, you could do the charcter breakfast at O'hana if you stay at the Poly...

Does anyone who "knows" something know if there might be a room only discount as well?

We've planned a split-stay and I really don't want to have to go and change all our plans (after working on them for days and days and days). But if I have to, I will.

The 4/3 package must require a 7-nt stay at one resort... and we cant pick just one!:)

Disney!!! We'd give up the passes upgrade for a room only code!

 I am so excited!!!!!!! Great idea about the crockpot. I am going to do that now so I can focus on this all the rest of the day!!! We are planning a big extended family trip in June and now a possible discount too!

Can someone tell me if it's better to book these promotions on line or by phone or doesn't it matter?

We are going for our Honeymoon in June and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to save a bit of money! Or stay longer if possible!

Man I love Mousesavers!

This has definately thwon a kink in my school day........ so much for listening in any of my classes, I just keep hitting refresh on my browser!

I am so confused and trying to read thought this thread. :upsidedow

Has the code/deal been announced? :hyper: If so, can someone please link me to the post? :flower3:

Mary,

First, thanks very much for all you work. I'm thinking that millions of dollars of lost productivity today can be attributed directly to you! :lmao:

To my question, i'm not sure you can confirm this, but while everyone here is discussing a buy 4 get 3 days dealwith a $200 gift card, do you know if Disney might offer a room rate only discount (i.e. 40% off) as well?

The reason I ask is that financially, this deal would be worthwhile only if you plan on staying for 7 days. For example, I currently have 2 connecting rooms reserved at AKL for 5 nights. Rack rate is $245 per (value season, pool view).

With this deal, I would pay $1,960 ($245 x 2 rooms x 4 nights) for the rooms plus tax = $2,205 and get $400 in gift cards back (2 packages) = $1,805.

However, with a 40% discount on the room, it would come out to $1,470 ($245 x 2 rooms x 5 nights x 60%) + tax = 1,654.

For me anyway, this deal is not as good as a basic 40% discount on the room rate where I would otherwise save an additional $151.

Any insight here?

Thanks!

I must say im another one that can say my company has lost some productivity out of me today. Because all i can do is keep hitting REFRESH!!!!!! :rotfl: Do you think i will have to cancel my current package through AAA and rebook with Disney or can i apply?? And also if i arrive before the 29th but im staying past the 29th can i still get the card, if this rumor mis true?? ya think??? :surfweb: More COFFEE please its gonna be a long day!!!!! Hang in there all my fellow Refreshers :grouphug:

Im so excited---unfortunately I'll be at work when it is announced today---maybe Ill bring my laptop!

I'm playing catch up, so these may be answered.

Can someone please answer this???? :)

We are staying 6 nights and already purchased airfare, and we can't change! It's like $100 per person to change, so total $400

So if it's buy 4 nights, get 3 free....would we still qualify? Could we buy 4 nights and get 2 nights free?
You could always have your check out date one day later since it really isn’t going to change anything (free night).
Any idea if this could be room only for those AP holders?
I know when they do free dining that there is usually a pretty decent AP discount available; us AP holders could always hope for that. This (if this is what it is) doesn’t sound overly great for an AP holder. Although, you could take those 7 day tickets and save them, use them once when it is time for a new pass, and then upgrade. Will have to run the numbers.

As far as I know, the only discount expected today is on a vacation package. Maybe room only rates for the general public will come out later, but who knows.

Okay guy and gals,

We all know that we are all worked up and excited about the HUGE promo. I know that the speculation is that the promo will be stay four nights and get three nights free. And some people might get a $200.00 gift card.

Now, all that being said and keeping in mind that it's all just speculation, how are you running numbers to see if the 4 day/3 nights free is a good deal.

Keep in mind this question comes from someone who absolutely positively HATES math.

Are you just figuring the cost of the room or are you adding in dining and tickets?

Help me out here please!

I have a question...

If I buy a 4 day ticket and they upgrade it to a 7 day ticket - can I then apply the value of the 7 day ticket to an annual pass? Or only the value of the 4 day ticket?

Use it once and the ticket becomes worth a full gate value of a 7 day ticket for upgrades. Just know what you are supposed to pay to make sure they bridge the ticket price correctly; learned that one the hard way this past trip. Not too big of a deal, it was fixed, but it cost a lot of time.

I think all of your speculation depends on airfare if you are flying, too. I'd be checking rates right now if you are thinking January '09.

I agree with a previous poster, Poly is awsome with little ones, you can wheel strollers right onto the monorail at either the main Poly building to take the short walk to the TTC to catch the direct Epcot monorail. That is a big price difference to pay for that convenience however. Bu you know, since the kids are free, maybe now IS the time to take advantage of the Poly, lol!
