Yay! We've met a few girls named Hunter.
You always have said that.

If I had a boy, it would not be Hunter though. "Kirk" was on our list because it was DH's grandpa's name. It would have been short and sweet, whatever it was. Michael was already taken in my family--we had 2!
And she loves you too, Momma Mare.
Nelia was on my list also. I had a dear friend, who's wonderful grandmother was named Nelia (they often called her Neily). I always said it Neil-ya. Once, someone asked me if it would be said Nee-lee-ya. I had not thought of that, and thought it to be as equally pretty, but I was afraid of the confusion it could bring--never even thinking someone might pronounce it Nel-ya. Hunter has been easy, except for dropping the "t".
My mother's nickname is Neily and that is whatt we were going to name dd first. Then my Mama told me that she has always hated that nickname, I decided on Nelia. My Mama doesn't even go by her first name of Cornelia but instead her middle name Ann.
Love the name Harper. I know a Harper too.
I think we most definitely associate names with people we might know with the name and whether we like it or not.
I totally agree. In my 20 years of teaching there is only one name I can't stand, Travis. Not a bad name but it makes me think of the one student who made my job an extreme challenge.
My grandma's name was Lexie and growing up, I knew I'd NEVER name my kid *THAT* name,

Then it became popular when it came time for me to have kids... I still didn't use it though.
I do like strong names for girls and not "fluffy" names. But, liking different names makes the world go round.
