I am 7 weeks pregnant. I am seriously sick of this so called morning sickness, and I've had it for a week now. I missed two days of work because I was so sick to my stomach and throwing up that I could barely sit up straight.

Please...does anyone have a remedy they think might work?? I cried tonight because I just want to feel better. I've thrown up three times in the last two hours and I always feel like I'm about to hurl.

I've tried:

Peppermint tea
Preggie Pop Drops
Eating small snacks or meals
Drinking ginger ale
Wearing sea bands
Eating foods with a lot of protein (like cheese and THAT wasn't fun coming back up!)
Water based fruits and veggies
Emertol (to help with the sick feeling)
Tums

Nothing is working :( My doctor's office said that unless I get dehydrated I have to ride it out, but I can't take much more of this!! HELP!!

I hope I can help...my friend suggested this to me as suggested to her by her midwife. I was terribly sick with my daughter...lost 8 pounds in the first tri, and this helped me to not ever get actually sick with my son

I took one unisom with a B6 tablet at 7pm, and one b6 at noon.

You can try half a unsiom with the b6 at noon too if you are still feeling sick, a half shouldn't make you too sleepy. I know some people feel weird about OTC pills, but the unsiom is safe during pregnancy.

Give it a few days to really get into your system before it helps.

Try Ginger.

Ginger tea or Gingersnap cookies

 Been there, done that. I wish I had advice for you. I never found anything that helped besides time. It usually went away after the first four months. I hope you feel better.

I really really feel for you.:grouphug: :grouphug: Nothing worked for me, but was highly recommended was tea and bananas...I hope it passes, and until it does, I hope for the best for you, and if you are at whits end, go to the hospital. You may be dehydrated..

The most important thing is to stay hydrated. If you get dehydrated everything will just get worse.

Also - just keep trying things. The only thing that worked for me was to constantly be sucking on a SOUR lemon candy - literally almost one after the other.

I'm so sorry. :guilty:

What worked for me was having some crackers or something light to eat before I got out of bed, then eating whenever I started to feel sick (which was darn near all the time!) So I ate a lot of snacks, not really meals.

Don't know if that will help you, but I hope something does. :flower3:

I threw up morning, noon, and night for eight months of this pregnancy. Nothing helped, not even the medicine to help you stop. I'm sorry you are going through this. I can totally empathize!

I'm going through the same thing and I am doing what the above poster recommends. However, I don't think anything will really remedy it except for time. I haven't tried the Unisom that another poster recommended. Maybe that works.

I am so sorry you are sick. I never had the first hint of morning sickness with either of my pregnancies, but a remedy that a girlfriend swore by was to suck on those giant fire balls! She said her nausea would pass within a few minutes of popping one into her mouth. I sure hope this helps.:flower3:

Yeah I had 5-6 months of throwing up with my first. Saltines and dry baked potatoes for me. I could eat nothing but that after 3pm. Sauce made me ill, pizza made me ill, not eating made me ill. I kept thinking why do they call it morning sickness it was all day and night.

I did the unisom and b6 thing too. It works. You can also try a pediatric dose of phenergan if you can get the doctor to prescribe it for you. Bugging the ob got me the phenergan prescription. Good luck and I feel your pain. I did it for 9 months. Call the doctor and tell them how much you are throwing up. Nita

I wore pressure point bracelets with the 4th one. They can be purchased at the drug store (rite-aid type). I think they were called anti-nausea bands. I was going to buy them but then a friend gave them to me. I took them off when I slept and put them on right when I woke up. So I wore them around for about a week and DH says "I don't think those things are working" since there were still many foods I had to avoid. So stupid me, I took them off and an hour later I had the WORST case of nausea.:rolleyes1

I drank de-caf ginger tea, ate tums, took zantac 75, wore the bracelets and glared at DH a lot for good measure.:rotfl2:

Oh sorry honey I didn't see that you already tried the bands...bummer!

A friend had horrible morning sickness. The best thing she did was eat a few saltines before even getting out of bed, and holding an ice cube on the pressure point on her wrist (where the Sea-Band would go) until it melted. It cured her nausea, but she had to do it before getting out of bed. If she stood up, she was done for. Her hubby brought her the ice, but once when he was gone overnight she put a small cooler next to her bed with ice in it.

I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum with all 3 of mine. That is basically chronic morning sickness for the entire time. The Unisom/B6 remedy mentioned above was something that was suggested for me as well. It certainly wouldn't hurt. The phenergen is also good, but it also causes extreme drowsiness. If it keeps getting worse, ask for a scrip for Zofran.
As for the dehyration, keep on top of this. It is extremely easy to get dehydrated and almost impossible to pull yourself out of it without an IV. Also, remember that once you are throwing up, water will only dehydrate you more because it flushes the electrolytes out of your system.
Good luck! *hugs*

I also tolerated steamed milk and that helped a little. It sounds really gross now. My sisinlaw could only eat count chocula cereal:confused3

Okay, don't laugh, but I was told salty and sweet, specifically to eat cheese puffs (like WISE cheese doodles) and drink lemonade. I know it sounds wierd, but I used to have a little of that in the morning once I got to work and after that, I was good to go for the rest of the day and no more morning sickness. Sorry, I know how awful it feels, hope you find something that works for you.

I forgot to put salty potato chips and toast in the list...I've tried those.

It's just....well, imagine the worst case of a stomach virus...that moment right before you throw up...it's here all day. Every day for a week now. And it's killing me because I get the dry heaves and those are worse than throwing up. My stomach muscles hurt like crazy!!

I just took a shower and almost stood in there and cried because I've never experienced anything like this and I don't know when it's going to end. At least with a stomach virus you know within a few days it will be gone. Each morning I wake up and I have no idea when it's going to end :(
