You should have popped in the new Simpsons DVD :rotfl2:

I like the added touch of coke!

Juice Boxes are for special treats? huh.....?

I've had foster kids like that. But it's because they were TOTALLY neglected, not sheltered in plastic bubble wrap.

I can't wait till Twinkie sees that post! TWINKIE!!!!!

apparently the drink of choice at their house is water.

Juice boxes are special treats. duh. Just like at my house.:rolleyes1

If I had the Simpsons DVD it would be soooo in. lol

Where is Twinkster? Hope everything is A OK!

Juice is DEFINITELY a special treat -
vodka and cranberry
rum and pineapple
gin and oj.

hehehe.
:rotfl2:
I want a drink. Can you tell?

Celery is primarly made up of water - of course she's thirsty!!!

Think of how fast celery wilts in the fridge and how it crisps up when put in liquid!

Wendy, I had an ingrown toenail fixed this morning. I was feeling pretty wussy about having it done, but it wasn't too bad.

I had ingrown toenail issues when I was young. I finally had some strange injection put into my nail area and never had another problem. It was supposed to stop nail growth in the horizontal way. :confused3
Those were very painful times though.

:rotfl:
We get home and they want a snack of course. I take them to the pantry and point out the usual staples or offer them some fruit. One of the boys spies Handy Snacks. Do y'all know what these are? They come in different varieties...peanut butter and crackers, cheese and pretzels, oreo cookie and vanilla frosting. They ask if they can have the Oreo kind. I say sure.

Then they asked me how to eat them. They had never had them before. I asked if they wanted a juice box. They said "Aren't those just for special treats? We never get to drink those." I am starting to grasp the enormity of the situation. After all, my niece hadn't even seen Cinderella until I practically forced it upon them. (which she loved, I might add). These poor children have led a deprived life.;)

What's a good aunt to do? I offered them Coke. Only b/c I knew it would tick my SIL off and make me look like a hero.:cool2: hee hee

Then I asked if they wanted to play a game or something. They said "Can we just watch cartoons please. We never get to."

So, they are sitting in the living room, quiet as "mices", watching cartoons, but apparently not SpongeBob, b/c their mom doesn't allow such nonsense.

Hang on. One of them just came in and asked if he could have another one of those Oreo thingys. Ha! I love it. Their momma is gonna be riled.

OH, and everybody went and scrubbed their hands after their snack. Can't have anybody with a little smudge on their fingers, now can we? These kids hate to get dirty at all. It's been raining. I asked them if they wanted to go out and play football. "No. We might get DIRTY." *gasp* Nuthin a lil soap and water won't take care of, but they still refused.

My kids will be home soon enough. Let the chaos begin.

Apparently I am your SIL. :rotfl:

Handy snacks are too expensive. It's apples, carrots, celery, bananas and popcorn at our house.

Juice boxes are also too expensive. They are only purchased for Disney or the beach. We do have juice and milk for drinking. Only at meals though. Water in between and if your outside it's out of the hose. :lmao:

And I try not to let my boys watch TV. It makes a world of difference in their smarts and attitudes. They have been watching too much lately and I had a horrible day with attitudes and laziness. And Spongebob is only allowed out if we REALLY need some downtime. ;)

However, my boys are not afraid to get dirty. Although I do make them wash their hands after eating. Or else the leftovers would end up on my walls, beds and couches. :headache:

Chad was gone all day today running around. I did not have a good day. Do you know how hard it is to have to pump every 2 hours with 4 boys demanding your attention? :headache: At one point Kaleb was on the toilet for over 20 minutes screaming for me. :guilty:

I am exhausted, mostly mentally. I can't wait for their bedtime. :guilty:

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Woke up late to a big steaming pile of dog.......nevermind. I'll let you fill in the details.

So now I'm behindish. So I skimmed. (when's PJ coming back?)

DTD....Sorry about the lay-off! Cracker Barrel would be happy to have you. You don't have to tell them it's short term. :confused3 Won't unemployment pay you for two months? Take a vacation!
I will never go back to the barrel! I've never collected unemployment and I bet the hospital finds something for me to do. They will need to people the entire time, but that would likely be the managers. However, one has a very sick mother and may take the layoff to care for her. I'm really not worried, just funny how they know for months what they(upper management) are going to do but don't let the folks it affedcts know thill they have to.

When was this? Who was it? Did you talk to him? You can't just post this stuff without the all important details. Spill it, mister.

:wave2: to the rest of the gang.
Trick question. The player was Joseph Jefferson, a defensive back and punt returner who graduated from WKU. The game was an NCAA basketball game between WKU and Illinois. Joseph was looking for my friend Martha, and sat wetween us during the second half and we had an old home visit. And our seats were literally on the 50 yard line-mid field. They set temporary stands on the field and use the stands in the end zone for the other side.
WKU has a televised double header, men's and women's, tonite on Fox College Sports, so I'ved got a few beers, some wings and a very full evening ahead. Hope y'all have as goog an evening planned.

Amanda, that does sound like it was ouchy! Never heard of that before. I was SO happy he used the cold spray before the numbing shots today.

They use that spray for my knee injections and they are still a bit uncomfortable. But one time last year my regular PA wasn't there and a doctor (not my doc, but one a coworker goes to) gave me the injections. He was going to do it without the spray first  I quickly spoke up and asked for it. He looked a little put out, but he used it. I told my friend about my experience with her doc and she said she had never had him use the cold spray and no wonder those injections hurt her so much. Yikes!!!

DTD, I really hope they realize how much they need you there in some capacity. That's rotten that they are giving so little notice to people.

Babynurse -- Handy snacks sounds a bit like our Dunkaroos. Little cookies you dunk in frosting. Or just the Ritz crackers and cheese to spread on them. These are things I put in my kids lunches for afternoon snacks. Morning has to be a healthy one. Mommy P is right though juice boxes and snacks are not cheap. My kids are not fans of drink boxes. Now give them a coke and that is a treat.

Moo-- hope your toe stays pain free. Ouch. I am trying to get rid of warts on both the kids feet. They must have got them from swimming.....:headache:

Saw someone this morning on redoing our cupboards. Who know there would be so many decisions. Thought I know what I wanted and what Hubby like. Lets say we disagreed a few times. Good think we are not doing a whole house like Mommy P.....

Then had to take Buddy for his rabies shot. I thought they would just do the shot and I would be out of there....nope. They were trying to talk me into doing a whole lot of blood work on him. One was for leukemia.....but they said I would notice something was wrong if he had it.:confused3 Then if I wanted to get a micro chip put in, if I wanted a stool sample done etc. I just want him neutered but had to get the one shot done first. Then of course I need animal insurance....because cats need a lot of dental work done and do I have $3000 if he has to have any extensive work done. :scared1:

So what are you leaning toward vs. your hubby, Nab, for your kitchen??! It took us quite a while to agree just on a dishwasher purchase. That's why I made all the decisions on "my" bathroom remodel myself and am paying for it (except for a small tax refund donation) to avoid any arguments.

I still have 10 more months before that is paid off. Then I'm sure I'll find something to spend that $$ on. Probably Disney related :dance3:

We have never bought pet insurance before. NO WAY would hubby pay for that! You just hope you don't have any expensive vet bills.

Nab - The only color options Chad is getting for the house is the shingles and outside paint. ;) It makes it much easier that way.

just back from going to the buffet with kaitlynn........now they have the spawning of the shrimp and the salmon and crabs......so we had to stop off here before we go and do the grocery shopping.......hehehee

Now all kids in this house have juice for snack time and at least two or so cookies with frosting in the middle......one day a week I make either a cake or brownies.....but the cake has my home made frosting with my special vanilla...

WHICH consists of a bottle of vodka and six or so vanilla beans sliced opened....you leave the bottle in the cupboard for six or so week and voila......vanilla the best....so once the kids asked me how much vanilla to put in the frosting and I replied .....a jigger of course.....hahaha....

tomorrow is another rotten day and then sunday into monday.......hopefully grandaughter will get back to campus before it starts......then 119 days and on and on before our visit to the mouse.....got some stuff in the mail today with a map of disney.......now remember the cm that took our ressies said oh you have been here 18 times and also four times to the Dolphin......YUP that would be US.......hahaha

Have a good night my little chickadees

He wants a small desk with some drawers for junk which I think will take away from more counter and cabinets. Our kitchen isn't big. Plus if we move the fridge he said we could put the pantry and I wanted it to have a full run of counter there instead. We will have to wait and see what they come up with. Someone is coming out to measure next week so they can design something or if it has to stay the way it is with new or refaced cabinets.

At least we agree we want darker cabinets we have light oak right now. Now the style of the doors that is a different story.:rotfl:

We did not buy insurance for Buddy so I hope he doesn't get real sick either.

Pumba are your still feeling pretty, glad you were able to get you hair done today.

Sounds like powerful frosting you make there.....:lmao: Hope you write the recipe down for your family it sounds like a keeper.

You are such a good mother!!!!
I don't buy juice boxes either. Any snacks are generic but semi-healthy. I'm so lucky my kids like fruit too.

SpongeBob is awesome! The sarcasm just too awesome. I do not let my kids watch FOX cartoons like Simpsons anymore because I swear it makes them hyper.

We got rid of DISH Network (temporarily ;) ) and really have enjoyed PBS and borrowing DVD's from the library. We've gained a new love for Sesame Street and Barney and some really good reading shows like Between the Lions.

Nab - No. Not all houses in Florida are white or tan stucco. Most houses are stucco, yes. Only because it stands up to the weather better than anything else. I would never want siding down here, it would look like crap in a few years time. The house we live in now is like a pinkish color. Not tan or white. ;) I wanted to paint the house a sunny yellowish color he wanted to paint it green. So we settled on a really dark, er, uh tan  with a dark green trim. I didn't get what I wanted, but I picked out those colors and he agreed. :rolleyes1

Insulation is going in tomorrow, should be inspected on Monday and drywall should be started on Tuesday. The stucco people are starting tomorrow or Saturday I think. I have been told I have to give our builder my final color decisions next week. :scared1:

On the downside, he is being a jackdonkey and only giving us $1350.00 for appliances.

Gotta go, I am being called from the other room. I think he's saying, "I'm hungry again" I can't wait to be able to just nurse him without the hassle of the pump. :guilty:
