Slightly belated Happy Birthing Day, Lynette! Sounds like your DD had one heck of a party :)

They no longer have my hubby's favorite GS cookies in our area. It was a shortbread cookie with a chocolate coating on one side. I ordered a few boxes, but have yet to have had any delivered. Which is probably for the best! I had one Lemon Chalet cookie at work on Friday. Mmm-mm good! Those go great with tea. I'm planning to put most of mine out on the counter at work, once I finally get them, so I don't eat too many.

Well the sun is shining and it is suppose to warm up again this week too. Come on spring weather.

I did see all the birthday wishes over there thanks everyone!

Lynnette-- that is what I am saying lately too when I look at my kids. When did they get this big and how did they go though the school years so quick. I am trying to enjoy my time with them more even all the runnng to this and that because I knew it will stop sooner then I think.

As for the cookies 12 boxes sold. We don't sell them ahead of time just go around with the boxes. Last year we took three cartons this year I started with only one....that is the 12 boxes. So we may get another one or call it a day. I remember Haley that used to be on our thread was the cookie selling Queen.

Well off to church and maybe the mall just to get out. Window shop only though.

Have a Great Sunday everyone!

just got back from Conn....what a nice day for a 200 ride up and 200 ride home......we went to my aunts 90th birthday celebration......I love driving thru Mass and getting to Ct. traffic was not bad but I am tired.

Night my friends

how about those buckeyes?! :thumbsup2

been too busy, but i am over the hill, for good,

i think i am , going to need a vacation, ..from retirement.

there are certain activities that helps people together. one is
music, another is sports. [ as you know, i sorta a fan of
college sports including football. ]

organized sports primary value is encouraging putting personal
differences aside for the team. if one study the dynamics,
it carries out to the conferences and then into society. then
it gives back to the players & their families. how great would
osu be without the wolverines pushing them? would the memories
be worth remembering? so while i love "hating" the team up north,
it is only a reference.

i have alot respect for the ncaa job. but they really need to have
staff members that can review & understand human dynamics.

recently there has been more & more problems that are de-
valuing many good points within the college system. they need
to listened before acting. scores and points should not be
the objective except setting up a system that treats every team,
every player with consideration that corrects mistakes &
promote personal growth.

ncaa should set limits on sports writers using their "positions" to
hurt the student athletes. one after a team lost, made intrusive
questions that made the player cried. he should be band for
years. remember s/p texas game? though the outcome was
not the players fault, the local paper blamed the players for
choking. the writer/paper should be band until they retracted
& addressed the facts.

..remember the girl that grabbed the other player's ponytail. [ many
nurses have been killed by that very action]. i aw the tape. she
sneaked behind , and almost killed that girl. later in life, that
will effect that girl's health. the person should have been placed
on probation, and required pysch testing + counseling.

speaking of? the so called fan that poisoned auburn trees, should
be band from bama's property, replaced the trees, pysch
testing [ obvious some real mental issues], and monitored hence
forth.

the orgeon's running back sp striking the byu player, was way too
excessive. it killed me, that the following tv game on the monday
after that, had another player assaulting a player on the sidelines,
& got by with it. [ except the tv audience saw it]. @ least he got
to play in the rose bowl against osu.

osu current problems with the ncaa are shocking to us @ work.
not saying rules should be broken but this is very grey area.
wow~ players are given gifts but can do anything with them?
strings attached, seem like an ethics violation in itself. this is crazy!
and with osu coach being a christian, makes me wonder if
this was a set up? if the ncca is going to have such a rule,
it should been written differently. required the schools to hold
in trust their gifts & then present them s/p they leave or
finished playing. also the first rule in setting a limit, is
chose something/anything you can enforce? [ if the truth
be known, every school has students trading their stuff.]

for the record, my work may not seem impressive to most but
the way i see it...our staff are in many critical roles, @ a time
when our patients are facing major life challenges. [ for ex.,
my first day back right after our 2 weeks disney trip, one
person stabbed himself in the heart, & the other was
dealing with the loss of a child, under very heart-
breaking circumstances. ] both hated god, & had strong
reasons to do so.

whenever, i assume my duties , i well aware of the stakes.
therefore, i rely on 2 major principles to help guide me. i
believe i am too work for those under my directions per
meeting their requests. except those "directions" are
limited by these 2 principles. first, by law. i do not extend
my authority over my license. but i am a pt. advocate so
if there is a "need" i will report it to the doctor with my
observations documented. but if the request is within
my authority , i still must refused it if it will caused the person
harm. that's called ethics.

i think the ncca would be better effective, & accomplished
more goals if "it" only listened to so some basic human
dynamics. why? because they are dealing with students
that are palying school sports but first, they are human
beings.

don't get me wrong..i love hating the wolverines. but they did
their recent coach wrong. way too impatient. they knew
what they were getting..& if they waited 3 more years,
i think they would have had something special. now they
are starting over.

i saw the fab five story..didn't know about taking the banners
away. that's about controlling dollars then ethics. [ they should
hang them back up]. darn It!!! if they focusing on this junk,
goes a long way....why they are missing the really important stuff.

what the ncaa also do, is correct some of the terrible injustices
players have suffered. again i love to hate them but the 79
football team did win the rose bowl, & deserved the rings &
recognition. wonder why they don't correct that ?!

how good can sports be? watch the big ten network. the most
impressive thing wasn't osu winning the big ten, but the players
& their stories--then the players getting together after wards,
sharing stories & congratulating each other. then watching
the michighan team pick in the gym. that was neat!

moo? what a class act- m. state was this year. things didn't go
their way, but they never gave up. they could have easily
thrown in the towel, but instead they never gave up. i think
what they accomplished this year was more special then
when they went to the final 4.

is the ncca going to investigate how osu was mistreated? how
did kentucky- sec champiopn rated below north c. , runnerup?
you think, they scheduled osu s/p a week off, & a "10pm"
stated time a fluke? how many games did osu played
that late this year? none. fyi, even the famous dicky v.
commented how unfair that was. it seem liked "strings attached"
is ok?

so how many charlie s. are running around in your world? [ hope
not to many but that just me.] in reality, every person can
have addictions, because physiologically - we are running on
chemical reactions. if he had addictions, they won't disappear
just by denying them. as for many of the "reality" shows are not
real. that's what society needs...shows encouraging dangerous,
harmful and/or negative attention seeking.

anyhoo! here's to keeping it real! :wizard:

1. That is totally your fault.

2. Uh try to keep up here bbn. Lurking is when you read and don't post. Our deer friends MO is to post and not read.

In a jar? :duck:

BBN, I say that limiting one's Girl Scout cookie choices may be an infringement of one's civil rights. If only we knew a good lawyer who could advise us on that matter

The only good ones are fictional.

I had one Lemon Chalet cookie at work on Friday. .

Never had it. I ususally stick with thin mints and samoas.

Well the sun is shining and it is suppose to warm up again this week too. Come on spring weather.

I am ok if summer shows up and sticks around for the next 6 months.

just got back from Conn

What a nice trip. Happy 90th bday to your aunt!

And speaking of (U)Conn. Let's hope they take down Kentucky in the Final Four. That would be AWESOME!

Hi Moovers!

BDG, things must be s-l-o-w in the parking lot/law office if you're popping in here more. Got any witty banter to contribute? popcorn::

Today was Natasha's 10th birthday. :scared1: TEN! How the heck did THAT happen? We hosted a sleepover for 4 of her friends last night. At her request, I made her a giant double-chocolate birthday cookie. We also did make-your-own-sundaes to kick off the party last night, followed by rousing games of Hullabaloo and Disney Scene It, followed by manicures and silly picture-taking. They finally collapsed in a giggly heap around 1am, only to wake before 7. She declared it her best birthday party EVER. :goodvibes We'll wrap up the weekend with her favorite dinner and the cake she loves. *sigh* Where did my baby go??

Witty banter? No.

As far as your little girl growing up. Mine is now a junior in high school. If God gave me the ability to do all over again. Here are my list of TOP 10 THINGS I WOULD do over again if I only could.

1. Play with her more and work less.
2. Make her read more.
3. Encourage her to play golf instead of basketball/volleyball. I would be less demanding.
4. I wouldn't lie to her about the ice cream truck being just a funny looking truck that played music.
5. I wouldn't have been so darn excited for her to walk. I actually tried to teach her. They all do it by the time they are 16 anyway. Enjoy it while you can.
6. I wouldn't have been so darn excited for her to talk. I actually tried to teach her. They all do it by the time they are 16 anyway. And believe me, as they get older the things coming out of their mouths gets less and less cute.
7. I would have taught her that clothes on sale are really bargains and not just stuff that nobody else wants. (which is what her mother taught her)
8. I would have flat out lied to her and told her that our family alone has a rare deadly disease prohibiting us from driving until the age of 18.
9. I would have watched Barney with her more often.
10. I would enjoy each and every second I have with her. I am so scared of her going to college and leaving us forever. It depresses the Heck out of me. I am so proud of who she is and the young woman she has become but to me she will always be the 6 year old little girl dressing up like Cinderella and making me sit through the 5th tea party of the night when Mom was still at work. I would give ANYTHING to go back there for just a minute. How did I get so old? How did she? Lint. Go spend some time with her RIGHT now. You won't regret it. I promise.

A heartfelt post by bdg. What's going on?
That's what I want to know! :confused3

Jeez, B. That post brought tears to my eyes. (That's not hard to do, but still......)

No matter how much time I spend with my children, I often catch myself thinking that those special little moments of playing silly games and such have an expiration date not too far in the future. :sad1: I shudder to think that we have less time between now and her high school graduation than we have had with her thus far.

Thanks for the reminder, B....I'll be sure to take heed.

Everyone else:  Hope your weekend was whatever you needed it to be.

Awww, so true, B. Once they hit junior high, it's amazing how fast the school years whiz by. Even the college years.

Lil G, I will ignore your anti-Wolverine comment ;) Did you know that there was actually a wolverine found in mid-Michigan recently? A man in the Bay City area was tracking/watching it in the woods for several years, but it was found dead of apparently natural causes this past year. After they checked it over, they sent it to a taxidermist and created an educational display at the Bay City State Park. It's getting a lot of visitors.

Where is SPRING??! I'm so sick of this freezing cold weather! The warm weather on St. Patrick's Day was a cruel joke.

It's full on summer this week. They said on the news that the gulf temp. is up to 78, which means inland temps(where we live) can now reach 90 degress. Plus it's so humid you can't breathe. Hopefully it's just this week and nicer weather will be back.

Did I tell you all that Isaac's ticket for our trip is going to only cost $12? When we went for the weekend in Feb. we got him the Fl. 4 day wild pass, or whatever(with hopping). It has two days left. So we can use it on Sat. and Sun. of our trip and then on Monday upgrade it to a weekday seasonal pass for only $12. (the remainder of our trip is Mon.-Fri.) How cool is that? :thumbsup2

BeeDeeGee: Yes, sadly, you blink and the kids are grown. It is important to do all those things while you still have the opportunity. Thank you for taking time away from parking cars (or was it cleaning teeth) in Atlanta to remind us.

No reason to resort to mind and body altering chemicals in order to spend more time with your kids Lynt. I have a 1-800 number if you need it.

OMG they are saying a substantial snowstorm coming in for Friday.....I thought they cant do this......I hate it...I know it wont last long but when the weather guy says Substantial he means it....
I dont want to discuss the dump we saw last night....broke my heart.......wanted this to be the one but it wasnt.....its not like we have to find a place this second...but we want one before June 1st....so keep on looking.....I am amazed that this realtor put this house on the mkt looking and being the condition it was in......only good points were the big big window in the living room and the smaller bay window in the computer office room and the size of the bedrooms.......it went down from there. rot on one side of the house near the cedar bushes that belong to the neighbor......and this is cedar shakes so hard to get to that point.....no insulation..there is at least a 1000.00 garbage bill to get rid of the junk in this house....needs a new furnace too...the area was fantastic and the back yard was awesome.......whaaaaaaaaaa

we dont expect a mansion or perfection.........we can paint and help it along but filth was not in my ballgame.....and in each cabinet and drawers was Mouse TURDS.......alot of it.......I could exterminate those guys fast......but it was disgusting.....plus the kitchen would of had to be done .....

another day another look at others.

This pm I am going to the ****ie squisher and then the bone look and see .....so see ya later gators

Our pool went up almost perfectly level this time! We had to bring in some more dirt for one side because it was low there last year and had gotten worse. Now it's at it's full depth and looks so nice! The water is cloudy as of now. We got the pump on it tonight and poured a ton of chlorine in it. Hopefully tomorrow it will be perfect, but I have my doubts. lol. I think it's going to take some work. It had some icky green on the sides still.

Better living through chemistry, I always say. Now where did I put my caffeine IV? :confused3

Pumba, I am doing an anti-snow voodoo dance here! Join me, won't you? The local weather wench is predicting a "tangible" snowstorm for Friday/Saturday. I. Just. Can't. :sad2:

MommyP, I keep looking longingly at our pool, which will remain covered for at least 2 more months. *sigh*

Moo, Marita, NAB, LilG, et al: Hope your week is going well.

Sorry about you people that are expecting more snow. We finally have spring weather, not hot like Mommy P.

I still have a winter coat on just no mittens or boots.:lmao:

Have been spending a lot of time reading. I finished the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo book and am on the the second one , The Girl that Plays with Fire. There is a third one to this series too.

Swimming started tonight , but it is nice to get home when thre is still light out. :thumbsup2

B-- all the things you wrote I have been thinking about a lot lately. Nicholas starts high school next year, for time the two won't be in the same school and it is bothering me a lot. I know they have to grow up sometimes but I think now it will go even faster.

Pumba-- sorry about your dream house being so run down. The has go to be a lot of place out there now that it is spring. Good time to look , so you don't get a wet basement.

oh Nab.....MY DIL put those same books on the kindle for me to read too....I finished Gideon Sword and I am ready for some light reading......DIL said they were good ones to read....

We did our grocery shopping tonight instead of tomorrow night when all the nuts would be out to get that last gallon of milk or that last loaf of bread...so we fooled them and went a day early.

I didnt look at one house on line and didnt bother to look at the suggestions for our realtor.......Just didnt want to today.

My mammo and bone test were both good......so I am happy ...that was what the ****ie squisher was ....but it got asterick out.......

Nice day today and I took Ms Ava for a walk......she is a good walker and talker....but decided we needed some good fresh air.......her gramma (my eldest niece) had a breast reduction yesterday......she will feel alot better in a few days I am sure....and the weight will not kill her back and shoulders anymore....she is such a dear person and I love her to pieces.

have a good night my friends

hi all

Not much going on here, work, go home, etc, just havent been in a posting mood...

We got a heck of a storm this afternoon, knocked down trees, power out in a large part of the city. I tried to outrun it by leaving work a little early, but I ended up right in the middle of it. My poor little Civic was getting blown all over the road, the rain was blowing sideways, and half the gasket by the side of the car roof came loose and hitting the car and the window. Scary stuff :scared1: By the time I got home it was pretty much over
Watching the news tonight I see how really bad it was in parts of Orlando. Trees downed all of town on top of cars and homes, small planes flipped over, 2" hail some places. Hurricane force winds, 70+ MPH. YIKES!!!! They just showed a pic on the news of a tree that fell over and blocked a road at Ft. WIlderness. And I was driving in that, GREAT!!

We were supposed to have our team outing to the MK tomorrow and tour the Castle suite and check out the new interactive ques for Pooh and HM, but A) they now longer allow Suite tours (WAAAHHH!!!) and B) another stormy day tomorrow, so it got moved to April 12 and we'll do Epcot F&G Festival instead.

So true about kids growing up too fast, I can barely remember mine being little..
Pumba, hope you find a great house soon!

MP, great about the $12 rate:thumbsup2

OH MY GOODNESS.
Prediction for our area is in between the 8-15 inches of the dreaded white crap from the sky..

we did our groceries and got enough stuff for a Nor'easter....I guess that will do it..

Waiting for Ava to come and visit with me.......she was a stinker yesterday...the horrible 2's are coming a little after the two and a half mark..

The broken baby toe hurts so I will put some socks and sneakers on ....keep it from flopping in my crocs...

Hope you all have a great day and Marita..be careful with those storms.....
