MP - We were just all busy getting prepped for St. Patty's Day!!! ;)

I stopped by by sister and her friend's local hangout on my way home from work tonight and surprised the heck out of them. I'd never been there before because I could never stand all the smoke, but now that our state has banned smoking in restaurants and bars, I was able to go there and actually BREATHE!

Had a bevvy and some corned beef and cabbage. Yummo.

Today was our first really warm day, so all the joints were jumping throughout our downtown area! Plus, MSU is playing tonight, so the green and white fans were out in force wearing the "holiday" color.

MP - We were just all busy getting prepped for St. Patty's Day!!! ;)

Speak for yourself, Moo! No St. Patty's shenanigans here. Sorry I haven't posted much lately. Nothing wrong, just haven't felt like it. About most exciting thing that's happened is that hubby and I went shopping for new tile to redo the shower and picked out matching tiles for the floor. Our shower has water damage behind the wall in a corner and has needed fixing for years. So we are finally getting it done, about $2,000-$2,500 just for the labor and we still have to buy the tile, OUCH!!!!!!!!!

I really, really wanted to take off tomorrow, but both boss and Khaki are off, so I have to go in (but take Monday off). Work is really slow right now, so my plan is to do some work in the morning, then take the boat to DTD by myself and find out for myself it it docks near Earl or only on Westside. If it docks near Earl, I'll stop and get a sandwich there, and then leave work about 4 pm.

Weather is absolutely beautiful here right now, sunny and mid 80's.

we were in the 50's yesterday and it brought out all the shorts and t'shirts around......I still wore my pants and jacket but the weather was awesome...
We went to the Ramada and they had corned beef and cabbage and fish chowder that hubby and I consumed.....we left the rest of the types of food alone......My favorite meal was FANTASTIC..
Because I had diet coke and I am assuming it was not caffeine free.......I was AWAKE...and then when I finally fell back to sleep it was four am and the dog barked at the paper person...I said love you to hubby and he said why are you awake......HAHAHA.......then I did fall asleep again by five thirty and woke up to my ugly alarm clock.....so I get up do the doggie thingie with her medication and then outdoor potty......took a shower and had my coffee and breakfast and at 7:15...the phone rings and it is my neice telling me she was up all night iwht my little Ava ...she had a very dry cough all night......she did yesterday too ...so it is always worse at night.......hope the peanut is better by monday...

Monday is viewing day at the house we want to look at....hubby is bringing the ladder so he can see in the attic and the eaves and everything......hope that the inside is as cute as the outside......

Oh Marita......Hope you get off at the area near the rainforest cafe and Earl of sandwich is right up the docking area........we love that place..

see ya later

Marita - Does that boat only dock in one place? Because when we've taken it in the pass it lets off right by rainforest and I believe Earl isn't too far from there.

This week is flying by....with the kids home I keep thinking it is the weekend.

Weather has been so nice out here too. Today included. :goodvibes

Nicholas bring a girl home for the first time yesterday. Hubby and I didn't want him dating yet but he would sneak off and say he was at one place and be in another to see a girl. His conscience always got him and he told us after many questions that didn't add up. People that say they get cell phones so they know where there kids are at are fooling themselves, they could be anywhere.

Hubby doesn't like it still but I told him if he wants to see a girl he needs to introduce us and have us meet her and know where she lives. She was nice but she was only here five minutes and then they went out. Nicholas was very nervous and thought I would ask 20 questions I did not other then where did she live. They had a gigglefest out in the kitchen. He was busy showing her school pictures I had out. Also told him before he brought her over no girls upstairs either in his room.

So another chapter with him beginnings.... He will be 14 in May.

Nab, the girls always liked Nicholas, good luck, LOL!

MP, the reason for my inteded trip on the boat today was to find out for sure if it stops near EOS. I asked the manager here who also handles the DTD Marina and she said she didn't know! :confused3 Of course I could have called or walked down and ask, but that would involve extra walking or lifting a receiver. :rolleyes1 Anyway, it seemed like a good excuse to kill some time.
But guess what????? Yep, plans thwarted again, boss is on vacation NEXT Friday and called for some stuff, so I cancelled it and instead had another fettucini alfredo (bad!! - I need new clothes). Checked out the build your own salad bar today just to look, its fine, but I like hot food for lunch, and not sure that Ranch dressing is much better:headache: I'll probably get transferred or retire before I make it on the boat to DTD...

Planning on taking Monday off and maybe Friday and found out today that hubby is off too and the entire week even. I like to have the house to myself to putter around on a vacation day. Such a great slow time and I need a day off. And next week is another ............. fill in the blank!

morning everyone..

Marita...YOU NEED to get on that boat and go to EoS........I know how plans get screwed up...

We are on hold for the Monday showing of that house...BECAUSE the dang key is not in Maine yet......I am getting a little po'd.......how can a house go on the mkt and no one can show it......this has been a little more then a week since they put it on the mkt and still no key....I NEED TO SEE IT..so I can either say YES TO THE HOUSE or get on and look at others....

Nab, kids grow up fast.....but if you set the ground rules like you will I am sure....things will be okey......and then before you know it ......vacation is here and they both move on to bigger and better things......My dear son is 41....I know....my son is probably older then some on this thread.....hahaha..I remember when he was a junior in high school and some girl with spiked heels and blonde hair picked him up to go to a dance place...I THOUGHT OMG who is she and OMG where is she taking my baby....ROFL....they were at a teen dance place...so I guess after everyone kidded him we all laughed it off...

Have a good day my friends

Pumba -- makes no sense to have a house on the market and not be able to see it. Every time you say say yes to the house , reminds me of Say Yes to the Dress. Hannah loves this show. She tells me her wedding dress will be big and puffy not a mermaid style.....

On the Nicholas front.....he has had a shower three days in a row now.....:faint:
It is usually a big fight to get him to have one. Must be the girlfriend....

It is still nice out there today. A little cooler but the sun was shining. All our snow is now gone too. But I am sure I am jinxing myself since they are calling for now next week.

The moon is suppose to be larger and brighter tonight because it is close to our planet. Must check that out. Full moon too.

last night we went to Portland to get a part for our GPS to stay put on the holder thingie......and on the way home we went by the ocean part that comes into where the ships dock and OMG the moon was shining on the water and it was just amazing........so beautiful ...

Then we went to the Dairy Joy and had an ice cream....Now we had our inbetween winter and spring coats on and it was 29 out then....ice cream cone and I had a brain freeze then my roof of my mouth froze and then my throat froze.......all for the love of a cone and opening weekend..ROFL....

the sun is out and I went out with my winter coat on and visited with my friend that we would sit out last summer and fall .....on her steps......it was beautiful but getting windy......NOW MY SISTER just informed me that we are in for four or so inches of the dreaded white stuff......poor mans manure we always said.

Have a good day everyone

Pumba-- I was going to take my snow tires off but your weather man said not to so it yet. More snow and ice to come. It's cold today with the wind.

The moon was very bright last night for sure.

We had kids club after mass so that pretty well took most of the day up.

It is going to be hard to get the kids to go to bed at there regular school time tonight. We haven't been too bad all week , an extra hour or two. If we let him Nicholas would have stayed up all night slept all day. Because all the other kids are ....I heard every night.

Not much else happening here. I just finished reading a Wally Lamb book called The Hour I First Believed. It was really good. My sister gave me it to read and I read it in three days and it is a big book.

Nabbie - We had a beautiful, clear day and evening yesterday and got to see the rise of the Super Moon. It was like a harvest moon in the spring time. Gorgeous!!! Too bad it's such a gloomy, rainy day today.

Oh, well. I've had a relaxing afternoon of reading and am heading over to my sister's for corned beef Reuben sandwiches for dinner tonight . . . yum!

Pumba - Glad you got to see the moon last night too :) Sounds like you had a great evening.

Hope everyone enjoys what's left of the weekend!!!

First day of Spring brings rain.

Which in turns makes me sleepy. Must say I have not got much done today. On to my second book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. My sister also gave me this book for my birthday.

I use the excuse that I need to be quiet today becasuse Hubby worked night shift all weekend.

Did to get my license sticker for my car today. Lucky there were no lines becasue she made me go out and see what my odomenter said on the car. When I got home the neighbour told me I should have just made up a number. Funny thing is I'm sure my hubby knows what it is with out looking , me I just drive the car and make sure I have gas. :lmao:

hey you guys..

Didnt do much today as I am LAZY...

Just received a call from the Realtor and she said that the other listing agent (different company) said that the owner didnt produce a key yet.....I told her and I said I am rolling my eyes here....why bother to put it on the mkt if no one can see it ......made me mad.......but hubby came home and started looking at other places......if we find something else ...their loss ....MADE ME MAD..

its snowing here....we are supposed to get between three and six.......I dont want the three never mind the six.....hahaha.

reading the book on the kindle is almost lazy ........no holding a heavy book or turning the page ....its a little thumb action and that is it.......I love it....

Wonder if my eyes are in yet......should call and see what is up there....then we could go to walmart and get some snacks......I am hungry .....can you tell.....put a boneless skinless chicken breast in the oven and we will have potatoes and veggies........but I would prefer a Mcdonalds cheeseburger with those tiny little onions.....I LOVE IT......

see ya later gators

Pumba, that house situation sucks! Hope you have better luck soon.

I took today off. Didnt get much of anything done ( big surprise :rotfl:)..

No sneakers bought, no eyebrows done, no pedicure. I tried to make some Banana bread and some hard boiled eggs tonight, but we were down to 4 eggs, which DD eats between now and tomorrow. So thwarted with that too. I'm going to try to go on some sort of diet (:rolleyes1), Im up to 133, up 1/2 lb. from Saturday after eatin one meal each Fri, Sat and Sunday :confused3

Anyway, so I read somewhere crackers with cheese and hard boiled eggs would be good. No eggs tonight, but I have Trisquits and cheese, so I guess I'll slice some of that. Trouble is, I like hot food for lunch.... Sigh!

UPDATE: DD left 3 eggs out of 4, so I used 2 for the banana bread, she should be ok for tomorrow morning.
The Pillsbury package didn't call for a banana, but I added one anyway, hope it turns out. I'll find out in an hour...

Hi gang. We are in the middle of spring break! So far the weather has been picture perfect.

Tomorrow we are going to Indy to see a semi-pro hockey game. The redhead LOVES hockey. We were going to go to Nashville to see a pro game, but could get seats right against the glass in Indy so we thought he would like that better. Then we are going to spend the night and just hang out and have fun.

I am a little tired from donating blood yesterday, but it was worth it. My friend, Allen, has a 4 yo son with leukemia and it has definitely brought awareness to me about how important it is to donate. That poor little guy has been fighting the battle of his life and if my blood can help one person like him then it is the least I can do. Kwim?

We still have not heard from our Japanese friends. I know things are chaotic there, and communication very difficult. We opted to send a letter and hopefully somehow we might get word about them. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts.

Nab: I read that book too. It was very good. I just finished "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle". It came highly recommended and was on Oprah's book club, but I did not like the way it ended and it was a looooong book. Part of me felt gipped that I invested so much time into reading it only to hate the ending. oh well. lol

I am now reading "Queenmaker". It is about King David's first wife. As a religious person, there are some parts in there that I do not care for, but then again it is written from the queen's perspective so I am trying to imagine if maybe that is what she really felt and thought.

My son when he was in Kindergarten and first grade, took a twinkie every day for his snack......the crossing guard would say....Okey what did you bring for a snack today and he would say....a TWINKIE.......so she ended up calling him The twink......he even left one for Santa Claus one year.......that twinkie comment brought back some nice memories...

today the outdoors looked like a winter wonderland....Now if this had been in December or January it wouldnt of been bad.....but NOT TODAY.....the snow was very wet and hung on all the trees......I ALMOST went and got the camera out but heck I hate snow so why take Another photo of it.....
Ava came at ten today so we had a mixed up day......Megara wanted to eat her snack and I had to chase the dog around so she wouldnt eat it....
Dang dog...

Made homemade mac and cheese for supper........GOOOOOOOOOD ...I love that stuff......and my white sauce with that block of NY Extra Sharp Cheddar melted in it and then mixed up in the macaronie......it was my best ..hahaha....

Hope you all had a great day today......cause I did......ava is a character and I loved having her here.

Good evening,

Nothing much to report here. e had an Analyst meeting at the Poly today where the first 15 mins were spent being taught the Hula by a 40yr Hawaiin lady. So there was this group of 30+ CM's with nametags and leis making fools of themselves with hip swaying, fishing and hands trying to make fish motions, LOL.

Tomorrow we (about 600 of us under SR. CFO) have an outing to go watch baseball spring training at ESPN, Fla Marlins vs Atlanta Braves.

(BBN, are you reading this???).

Not my idea of fun at all, plus it's getting hot here, 85 today. But we get a free lunch, and I'm sure I'll cut out early.
So tomorrow is pretty much shot for getting work done, room tour 9-10, then leave for an update from the CFO, then free lunch, then ballgame. I guess it could be worse.....

E - Sorry to hear that you still haven't heard from your friends. More prayers sent :grouphug: I am always a little leery of Oprah's book club recommendations. I haven't read many I've liked. I'm still debating whether to read The Poisonwood Bible (which I checked out from the library a while back) because I learned it was on the Oprah book club list. But I did read another Barbara Kingsolver book recently and it was OK.

Marita - Enjoy your "free" lunch! At least your outing tomorrow's something different!!! The hula lesson sounds fun! They do that sort of thing at the Ohana restaurant at the Poly during dinner. Probably at the luau too, but I've never been to that.

Pumba - We are getting rain/sleet/freezing rain, or as they like to call it, a "wintry mix". Yuck. It was very sleety when I left work and I had to walk very carefully so I wouldn't slip and mess up my knee again.

Nabbie - Hope this crap weather peters out and doesn't head your way. I made the mistake of checking my daughter's weather in North Carolina today. 83 degrees. Waaaahhh!!!!!

The weather man has been scaring us for days about the big snow storm coming. I was afraid to open my eyes this morning to see it. There was nothing. But now it has just started to lightly snow so so don't know how much we will get now....Other places around us have a snow day.

Girl Guide cookies came home with Hannah last night. And they have a camp of sorts on Friday night. Not much notice there. Wasn't ready for the cookies either though. It is a sleepover in with tents in a basement of a local church.

Moo-- did you watch Biggest Loser? I was surprised that Jillian didn't push more for Arthur. I'm sure Bob would have. She even said it is better game play to bring the other one back. Thought she hated game play. :confused3 Did you notice they are not wearing the bugs this time on there arms? Not sure why Moses didn't lose more either.

Marita-- your outings always sound fun to me. Even room tours. And free lunch icing on the cake....
